The cottage was an absolutely perfect place for us to spend an extended weekend. My husband and I met his aunt, uncle, and cousin who live far away from us. The kitchen was well-stocked. The living room, dining room, bedrooms and bathrooms were comfortable and spacious. Set in a peaceful wooded area, we enjoyed the beauty around us. We were very impressed with this place. 😁

The cottage was exactly as described. It was super clean and comfortable. We had more than enough room for 2 moms and 2 daughters in the area for state softball championships. It is located off the beaten path nestled in the country. Even saw a mama deer and her baby in the driveway one night. Excellent listing!

We had an amazing stay at the cottage. We were in the area for a youth softball tournament. This location is very peaceful and private. It’s a great change of pace from city and traffic which we thoroughly enjoyed. The space is large enough for everyone to spread out and relax. We enjoyed sitting on the wrap around porch. The hosts thought of all things needed. We would love to stay here again!

It was perfection. Very clean, peaceful, and charming. A lot of natural light and very comfortable. The vibe is good. The hosts were always available for communication. You can feel the love and joy emanate from the property and the cottage. My 8 year old granddaughter loved visiting the horses and found a four leaf clover that she’s “been waiting her entire life to find.” My one year old granddaughter felt most comfortable in the sweet little wooden rocker. She would smile her toothless smile from ear to ear when she sat on it. It’s apparent, that rocker belonged to and was loved by someone very special. Kids know these things. Memories made there, past present and future. The property, the cottage and the Goodmans are a blessing.

The home was absolutely amazing! And the hosts were also. It’s nestled in the woods a top of a hill. We sat on the porch while drinking coffee and listened to Mother Nature sing her song.
It’s located within 30 minutes of anywhere. In the country, but just a hop, skip and a jump to town.
Very well kept, with everything you would need, just unpack and enjoy.
When we need to visit the area, this will always be my family’s first choice!

And while we didn't get a chance to meet our hosts while we were there, they were very good at giving us helpful information about the property beforehand. This home is exactly as promised! It was clean, comfortable, and peaceful. It truly felt more like being home than in a vacation rental. The house is nestled in an area surrounded by trees and is very quiet. We could see the stars at night without the intrusion of city lights and saw deer on the property every evening when we came home. The owners have taken the vacation rental experience to a new high and we appreciate their kindness. We would absolutely return if we were in the Kansas City area again. My husband and I stayed at the Country Cottage with our daughter and her family for the weekend. The cottage is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Everything was super clean and well stocked with whatever you could need. Very quiet and peaceful location. We enjoyed our stay. The Goodmans, the owners were very helpful and welcoming. So comfortable, it felt like being at home. Hosts, Lesli and Gordon, do a remarkable job. The cottage is beautifully decorated, sparkling clean and extremely inviting. We will definitely be back for a return visit if we are ever in the greater KC area.

WOW! 5 stars all the way around. More than we anticipated. Home was secluded but not inconveniently located; relatively quick access to highways. Property was absolutely lovely and so well appointed - from decorations to accessories, to the thick soft towels, to extra blankets. Living area and master are HUGE. Wrap around porch, responsive friendly hosts - all you could want in a VRBO. We would certainly book again!.

This is a lovely cottage and Lesli and Gordon were Super Host. My friend and I had a wonderful time and had family come for meals. I highly recommend that if you need a VRBO you choose this one. You will not be disappointed! Thank you to Lesli and Gordon for a wonderful stay. 😊

This was our second time to stay at This Country Cottage and we’ll certainly plan to stay again.
This time we came up for a granddaughter’s graduation and to visit with family and friends. The cottage was a peaceful oasis after busy days.
We were able to have the grands visit with us one day, and the youngest was delighted to be able to choose one of the many board games available to guests. The 11 year old grandson and I explored down the gravel road and even saw a box turtle!
This visit my husband and I were able to meet Lesli and Gordon and put faces with the friendly communications, as well as the care and effort that have gone into making the Cottage such a cozy and comfortable retreat for visitors to the area.
We definitely recommend This Country Cottage to anyone looking for accommodations that are more than just an impersonal room along a busy thoroughfare.

This site was by far the nicest of the (>20) VRBOs we have stayed in. The home was charming and very comfortable. We slept great- very quiet property, mattresses were very comfortable, with high quality pillows and bedding. And oh my gosh, lots of thick plushy towels.The kitchen was well-equipped, and we didn't have to run out to buy any basic supplies like paper products or dishwasher pods. Washer and dryer made the stay very convenient. Gordon and Leslie were very helpful and friendly, but not intrusive. What a beautiful property! We would definitely stay there again when we come to visit local family.

From the moment I opened the door I knew I'd chosen well. The charm & the freshly baked cookies on the kitchen counter, everything was so neat and tidy. Large spacious kitchen, dining & living room area made it the perfect gathering spot for visiting relatives. Loved the separate laundry room & a nice well equipped kitchen. The wrap around portch was lovely as well to sit & visit on. The bedrooms were spaceous & beds comfy. Large bathrooms were a plus for older folks. Everything was so clean, we just loved it & will come back again!!

This is a great place to break out puzzles, board games, or otherwise enjoy a quiet weekend. We kept plenty warm, and the jet tub was fantastic!
The internet connection reinforces a quiet country experience. Email and basic browsing work OK, but be ready to relax because you won't be participating in any online meetings (or streaming media).
While it sits on some gorgeous property surrounded by nature and wild life, especially given its attachment to the owners primary residence, the cottage needs better window coverings. The owners are extremely nice and eager to accomodate, but being able to close proper courtains would have significantly improved our ability to relax.

My husband and I, and two adult cousins stayed at this property. We ere in the area for a family reunion. It was initially identified with three beds, but the owner later told me the third bed was a pull out sofa, which worked for us. The setting is private and beautiful with lovely furnishings and a wrap around porch, which was delightful! The owner described the entry road, but it was steeper and narrower than expected. (Our cousins got pretty nervous when they arrived at the house after dark.) kitchen is complete with everything a traveler would need. Although rural, the house is surprisingly close to a beautiful lake with marina and fine dining. We would stay here again! Thank you for the fresh chocolate chip cookies.,

The Goodmans are such wonderful hosts who truly understand the country cottage home theme by providing a warm hospitable experience. This place is so comfortable, with a well laid out spacious floor plan. The cottage décor is perfect for the country surrounding views which totally seclude the property. The home is full of cheer and comfort allowing a peaceful relaxing time away from the city life. Hope to return and admire the scenery again someday.
