Excellent accueil, vue splendide sur le lac et les montagnes, dîner et petit déjeuner parfaits, superbe balade à pied le long du lac. On a juste envie de revenir, surtout que maintenant nous connaissons le moyen d'accéder à l'établissement sans traverser le village, dont les rues sont très étroites...

La vue.
Vu la note élevée des avis nous avons réservé un bungalow et avions hâte d’y arriver. Douche froide, accès par des petites rues étroites en pavés très en pente, accueil impersonnel, bungalow trop petit, pas de place pour les valises, pas très bien chauffé malgré le climatiseur, petit-déjeuner correct sans plus et accueil toujours aussi distant. Au cours de notre périple de 2000km, nous avons rencontré des hôtes formidables et des logements impeccables, ce qui ne fut pas le cas ici. On avait réservé deux nuits et on est restés une seule nuit à cause de la météo (ce qui n’est pas de la faute des propriétaires) mais un peu d’empathie ou un geste de leur part aurait été les bienvenus mais au contraire une totale indifférence, peut-être n’étions nous pas les bons clients, en effet nous n’avions pas diner au restaurant, (c’est le seul restaurant au village et il faut être courageux pour emprunter les routes la nuit) du coup on pratique des prix très élevés pour le coin, sur booking le prix annoncé était de 35€ par personne. Nous avions déjeuner dans un village à côté pour 22€ (pour deux) tout compris du fait maison et des propriétaires très gentils. A part la vue mais qu’on peut aussi avoir ailleurs pour moins cher, ça reste une très mauvaise expérience.

O pequeno almoço foi variado e muito bom. A localização está inserida numa aldeia rústica muita bonita, com uma vista panorâmica fabulosa. O pessoal foi atencioso e simpático e todo o serviço foi muito bom.

One of the most spectacular scenic settings of any hotel I’ve ever visited- the view out of our bungalow’s glass doorway was unparalleled. And the scenery is matched by the warmth of the owner-hostess, Fernanda: she made us feel so welcome and looked after, insisting we take sandwiches on the super hike she suggested we take to the next door village, Pitoes de Junias. Dinner was also delicious (especially the homemade cured sausage) and we loved feeling so close to the village, which still seems home to many local people who farm the land.
No shops nearby so bring anything you might want in advance!

Everything. Good signage to get to the Casa. Awesome owners. Clean and confortable room with amazing views of the grounds and surroundings. Quiet. Inside the village where we can walk freely and safely.

Casa Albelo de Geres was the highlight of our trip. I fell in love with the owners Miguel and Fernando. The location is absolute heaven. We hiked right outside of the guest house to the next village where we ate lunch and then taxied back. There was running water and lush plants throughout the entire hike. The lake, mountains, plants, rock formations and animals will remain in our memories for a long time. We at breakfast and lunch at the guest house. The culinary experience is hands down one of the most memorable parts of our trip. We tried everything that was offered to us. We tried special traditional dishes that are special at Easter. Everything is homegrown and homemade. The freshest and best quality. Miguel is passionate about his cooking, and Fernando couldn't do more to make us feel comfortable and welcome. The entire setting and village are picture perfect. I just want to savor my memories of this fabulous place. The humble hosts should teach hospitality. They have it down to an art. The Casa is run with a lot of love and a huge passion for everything the hosts have literally created with their own hands. If I ever come back to Portugal, it will be because I would like to return here. Thank you

However, to drive to the casa, the way is small. Do take the way right through the village from the main entrance to the village! On that road there are signs with the name of Casa + AL (Alogamiento = accomodation).

We had a bit of difficulty with passing the narrow roads in the small village but Fernanda came to our rescue and showed the way with her even bigger car in front of us! We loved it!

This wonderful place is off the beaten track in the most amazing and beautiful place overlooking the lake. A truly magical location in a part of rural Portugal. It's absolutely stunning! There was a very warm welcome from hosts Miguel and Fernanda.

Fernanda is an incredible host. We got to meet her family, learn about the guesthouse, region, and much more. The dinner, wine, and breakfast were all fantastic. Highly recommend staying here as you explore Peneda-Geres.
