This is an excellent property if you want an authentic Japanese style house experience. It was very quirky but comfortable.

The supply of dinner knives for us westerners would have been helpful.

The villa was very well appointed and modern inside. There were plenty of linens.

We could not get into the house or reach the manager without great difficulty. They were not responsive. We found an unlocked door and got in but had to leave it unlocked when going to dinner. The hot tub was empty when we arrived and would have taken hours to fill so we did not get to use it. There were no instructions about filling it. The light switches were all over the place and hard to figure out what was where. The bathroom was downstairs (very narrow stairs hard to manage in the dark) and all the bedrooms were upstairs. This is a problem if you need the toilet in the middle of the night. Lots of light coming in from the street. I would not recommend for non-Japanese travelers.

Cold, the electricity shut off 5 times through the night. Toilet is located on the first floor and “outside” making it inconvenient for our elders.
