We stayed at this lovely home to celebrate my daughter's 19th birthday and had a wonderful time. The house itself was beautiful, with charming decor and comfortable beds. The property was well-stocked with everything we needed, and we particularly enjoyed playing the country legends on the record player, a nice touch since my daughter loves old country music.
The outdoor spaces were delightful, with a cozy and inviting atmosphere, and the hot tub added to our relaxation. There were plenty of games and toys for both indoor and outdoor activities, which kept everyone entertained.
We had a great time shopping and dining at local restaurants. Overall, it was a delightful stay, and we thoroughly enjoyed the property and its amenities.

Shelby Haus was by far the best rental we have ever experienced! The HOME is just that, like staying at your friends perfectly decorated, cleaned and equipped home. They thought of everything you could possibly need and then some. Both beds were nice and comfy. Melissa and Tim have raised the bar on our expectations.
My husband and I brought my parents to Fredericksburg for their 60th anniversary. This was there first time to Fredericksburg or staying in a bed & breakfast. They were so happy with everything....town, home, winery (only made it to one tasting), peaches, shops, and museum. When we needed R&R time in the afternoons, the backyard provides the wild life we love...plants, birds (beauyiful cardinals) and deers which are plentifil with the creek running on the backside of the property.
We are already talking to different family members to plan our next couples trip with hopes of staying at Shelby Haus for our future visits as we enjoy all the wineries, restaurants and shops.

My wife and I stayed here for a weekend and really enjoyed it. Just a short distance to Main Street but far enough away that it was as very quiet. Highly recommend and will definitely plan to go back.

I would highly recommend this property! The owner puts so much time into the details into making every moment of your stay, relaxing and memorable. My favorite touch was the hot cocoa and tea bar, which was the highlight of our trip. I also loved getting to sit on the front porch and relaxing and talking with friends near the fireplace in the living room. She even had the cottage decorated for Christmas which was beautiful. Highly recommended!!!

We had a fabulous weekend in Fredericksburg! The home is perfection! No detail was overlooked. We loved all the extras, especially the coffe/tea bar and all of the games, not to mention the nostalgic vinyl records. House had all the amenities you would need. Front porch to sit on. Large backyard for fire pit and hot tub. Yard large enough to play corn hole and relax and watch the deer.

The house was very clean and well stocked and organized. This place is a great place for either just adults or family. Location was pretty close to downtown and wineries. I will definitely return back to this location when we visit again. Thanks for everything!

This house was perfect for 4 adults and 1 toddler. As stated in the description the house is not child proof but my 2 yr old GD had so much fun with the mystery toys in the closet and the great big back yard. Shelby house goes beyond making you feel at home with a variety of tea, coffee and hot chocolates. We cooked a huge New Years Day meal and did not have any trouble finding all the pots, pans and other kitchen items we needed. There is nothing cold and generic about this cozy house with a cute stream in the back with deer sightings in the evenings. All the extras provided by the host made this the perfect New Years getaway, very close to Main St. but also close to the hiking trials we wanted to do. No complaints at all from me and my family!! Oh, IMO house is actually larger then it appears to be in the pictures.

Melissa has created a beautiful place to stay! This is our second time and it was just as perfect as it was the first time. The house is so cute and decorated for the season. We loved this property and enjoyed our stay so much. Melissa went the extra mile sharing events and helpful info with the group. The house was so well stocked with anything you could possibly want and MORE. We loved the huge selection of games!! We sat out in the backyard every night and we enjoyed the sounds of nature. Super enjoyable and would recommend to anyone looking for something that feels like a home away from home.

Shelby Haus is by far the best and most well equipped VRBO I have ever booked. The beautifully decorated home provided such a perfect weekend getaway. The owners were very easy to communicate with, beyond accommodating and by far the best hosts I have ever dealt with. Upon arriving, the record player was the first unique thing we saw and we immediately turned it on. The variety of records was a HUGE plus.
The coffee and tea bar had everything a coffee or tea drinker could ever want or need. The refrigerator had basic UNOPENED necessities from creamer to ketchup to a bag of ice. The front porch swing was my favorite coffee spot. The backyard is perfect! If we weren't baking from the Texas heat, the hot tub would have been amazing! There was shade on the hot tub and seating area at all times so even with the insane heat, it was comfortable. We will definitely be back.

A weekend getaway for my birthday.
This property was everything the pictures showed and more. It was absolutely beautiful. The host was so kind. I've stayed at rental houses before and was hesitant. But this one met and exceeded all expectations. Close to Main St, quiet neighborhood, and we got to watch deer run past the property every night. I highly recommend this house to anyone needing peace and quiet. 5 stars across the board.

Beautifully decorated and extremely clean property. Not a single detail missed. I have been staying in rental homes in the U.S. and Europe for about 15 years. This is by far our favorite. Enjoyed morning coffee on the swing. Listened to old records on the record player and played games with friends. Loved the coffee and tea bar which had something for everyone. Very well stocked with everything you need! Extremely good and quick communication from the host. What a joy this place is!

Best VRBO we’ve ever stayed in!
From check in to check out, everything was perfect! As soon as we walked in the door we were blown away by the decor and the cleanliness! They literally thought of everything in this home! From the surplus of coffee and tea, to anything and everything to cook a meal, to the wine tumblers, to the extra towels for the hot tub, to the first aid kits, no detail was overlooked! The hot tub was definitely a bonus and we enjoyed it every night we were there! We loved the house so much that we ended up spending more time there than we had originally planned! The location was great as well and not far from Main Street at all! We have stayed at quite a few places but none that compared to The Shelby Haus! We already look forward to going back!
