wonderful dog friendly location - room, on the small side but didn't bother me as was on my own but if my husband had been there it would have been tight with bags etc,

it was really clean and decor was really good

Lovely room a mix of beams and modern decor, very comfortable bed facilities top quality. Central Hawkshead position parking easy just 50 metres away so not a problem . Staff very friendly and helpful. We ate in Poppi-red for out evening meal great food and breakfast was amazing.

TV only had ITV and the wifi wasn’t very good.

Our room was beautiful and spotless when we arrived. Check in was really easy and the welcome email gave us all the information we needed. We visited in January so a lot of the local pubs were closed but we just travelled out of the village. I can imagine that when everything is open you wouldn't need to leave Hawkshead. We did a walk locally up to Latterbarrow and it was a great view over Hawkshead. Poppi Red was closed for our first day but we had breakfast there on the second day and it was amazing. if we'd stayed longer we would have had dinner there as the menu looked great and the staff couldn't do enough for you. Highly recommend.

No parking but the car park was seconds away and reasonably priced. It wouldn't put me off staying again.

Location

Noisy peasant guests. A couple come back to the property around 12.30Am shouting and using foul language. They had obviously come back from the local pub, and couldn't get in because they must have forgotten the door code. I heard them, but I totally ignored them when they were at the door. I thought why should I get out of bed and let them in when they shouldn't have gotten into a drunken state, and forgotten the door code.They were council estate types foul mouthed I must stress. The language coming from the females mouth was appalling. Pure disgusting grammar. After several attempts to get Into the property, they gave up, and must have went and slept in the car. The following night was even worse. They were intoxicated again, and were up and down the stairs all night, clashing doors etc. Someone tried my room door when I was in bed. I was terrified to get up and investigate, in case I was assaulted etc. This was not poppi reds fault. God didn't equip the proprietor, with a crystal ball, but the whole episode spoilt my supposedly quiet weekend away.

The location is perfect. The accommodation is 5star. Best we have stayed in, in the lakes. We have booked again for September.

Unfortunately the Bistro was closed, so we couldn’t eat there. However we was informed after booking that we could cancel if we wished. They close for 2 weeks in January

The room was clean and fresh. The bed was comfortable with good amenities such as coffee and coffee maker, tv etc. The electronic keypads for getting in were good, it meant it was more self service and you didn’t worry about key cards. The location is really central in the small village to all the shops and eateries and easy to get to some good walks. We walked to near Sawrey which was only a couple of miles.

Everything was closed except the Red Lion which was nice and welcoming. This was due to the time of year though and to be expected after Christmas and with the weather.

We loved our stay here at the Hive. The location was great, a lovely little village with a lot of things around to do. Our doggie also loved the walks around! I would 100% recommend to anyone

Very clean and well presented accommodation. Excellent and courteous service from very professional and efficient staff. Great breakfast, all in all, a great experience. I would definitely stay there again.

Though the room/bathroom are very well presented and super clean, they are on the small side.

Amazing place to stay, the room beautifully furnished and cozy. We had our evening meal there which was delicious and to top off the breakfast was the best I’ve ever had.

Bit rigid about checking in. Guy on phone said we could book in early but when we arrived they wouldn’t accommodate us. I think because they were so busy
