The house was great! We loved the easy walk to the beach and the neighborhood was nice and quiet. Really convenient walk tot the start of our half marathon. Would stay here again!

My second time to stay in two months. This beautiful cottage has become my favorite place to stay in Galveston. Communication with the owner is always quick response and friendly. It is as beautiful inside as the pictures. I can't see myself staying anywhere else if I'm going to be in Galveston.

Lovely cottage that is close to the beach. The neighborhood is quiet. The cottage has a nice back porch. The owners put it a lot of work on the house and I'm glad they included historical information on the property. It was perfect for our stay.

The location of this house is excellent. It is far enough from the tourist centers to remain quiet while remaining accessible to all the amenities. There is a large grocery store within a 3-minute drive, plenty of restaurants around, and the beach is a 5-8 minute walk. This is a perfect size house for four adults who want to hang out together.

The charm of this cottage gave a historical feel of Galveston with a modern day touch. It was beautifully decorated and in a great location for shopping, restaurants, and beach attractions. Guests are required to download an app to lock/unlock the door through their personal mobile phone. There were also some special directions to follow along with using the app which we found challenging. This could be extremely difficult for non-technical or senior-aged renters.

The decorations were lovey the house was very clean and we had a great time there.

Our stay was mostly great. It is a cute little house that is located close to most of the touristy places. The neighborhood is nice and quiet. We decided we wanted not such busy beaches but that was just a ferry ride away, and you could park right on the beach. Overall, it was a mostly relaxing stay.

We enjoyed both the front and back porches as we visited while enjoying the fresh air. The kitchen was adequately stocked and the accommodations were very nice. Since we flew, we didn't bring as many things with us as if we had driven. Consequently, we needed to buy some supplies as listed in the welcome book, such as paper towels, toilet paper, shampoo, dishwasher detergent. It was easy enough to purchase them ... but supplying our own is different than other VRBO experiences we have had. It was a lovely home and we would recommend it to others!

Love the total renovation of this property. Easy access to the beach, the Strand, and Bishops Palace is right around the corner. Great house!!!

It had a Christmas tree to greet us. What a pleasant surprise.

Everything was great, especially the location.

This is a lovely and well decorated home. It was clean and well furnished with a great kitchen and an attractive and functional front and back porch. We did enjoy our stay, but there were several problems which are listed below. The problem we found most troubling was the front door lock. Entrance, exit and locking required the use of my phone with an app. Setting up the app to work with the locks was difficult and required phone assistance from the owner. Still the front door was troubling even after the app was set up. A thick weatherstrip required pulling on the doorknob with one hand while operating the app with the other hand. Even from the inside I had to push the door and then set the lock. A couple of times upon returning to the house the app failed to work which required restarting it, never certain we would be able to enter. Totally unacceptable! Plus there were no closets in bedrooms. The first floor bedroom had nothing for hanging clothes and the upstairs bedroom had two metal rods sticking out from a locked closet. Third, there were numerous locked cabinet doors and drawers throughout the house. The second floor bedroom had a desk with all drawers locked. Lastly, there was no soap or toilet paper in bathrooms and one roll of paper towels in the kitchen. It seems we were expected to bring out own. A first for us. There were ten pages of house rules emailed detailing some of these issues but I never received them, even in my spam folder. I realize that regulations are necessary but this was over the top. We would never consider staying there again on our trips to Galveston.

This house is more beautiful than the pictures could ever depict. If you want a beautiful, cozy, well appointed cottage to relax in during your stay in Galveston, you found it. This house is priced more reasonably than most. It is in the historic district, just minutes from the Strand, and three blocks from Stuart Beach (which has become the cleanest most beautiful beach on the island.) Galveston has done a great job cleaning everything up and modernizing. This cottage is so incredibly comfortable and well decorated. You won’t want for anything. The kitchen is fully stocked with cookware, they even have basic spices, coffee, (who does that in rentals anymore? )They provide toilet paper and paper towels, and need I say anything about the bedding? Sumptuous! I don’t think I’ve ever stayed in a prettier or cozier rental then this one. The photos online make the front of the house look a little cluttered and small... But don’t let that fool you! It's not cluttered.... the front porch is HUGE! The pictures cannot capture how charming this place really is. High ceilings, historical architectural details, a modern beautiful kitchen, soothing colors, exquisite bedding, and plenary of privacy and space for a family of four or five grown people. If you’ve got more kids… They will all fit as well! The owners/property managers are easy to get a hold of if you need them. They are quite responsive. I felt as if I were a guest in their incredibly unique and sweet home. So much love has been poured into the remodel of this historic house. Everything from the construction, to the furnishings. Most of the furniture is antique. The lighting fixtures are antique. Many of the doors and windows are old Galveston architectural salvage that have been refurbished and retrofitted into this home. You will walk around and wish your house looked like this! The yard is quite charming. Gardens surround decks, porches, a barbecue seating area… Flowers and lush grass. Most beach rentals these days are very sparsely appointed. Cheap beds and linens, cheap couches and furniture, cheap silverware and very sparsely stocked kitchen. You’ll find everything you need here! This is a real home, y’all! You’ll feel like you just settled into your own home in Galveston Texas! Y’all really have outdone yourself on this rental. it is a little secret that I hope for your sake, becomes more and more popular.

We had so much fun staying in Galveston and the house was so nice to be able to just relax and enjoy the trip away for our anniversary!!

So glad we decided to go VRBO instead of a hotel. Beautiful, well-maintained small house in a good neighborhood. Steps to the beach and historic east end. Wish all accommodations were as pleasant as The Knotty Sailor.

The smart lock didn’t work at first ,but got better. Also the downstairs shower was hard to work and difficult to get in and out of the claw tub, not to good for the older folks. But over all it was a great place and close to the beach!!

This cottage was as pictured. Jim and his family were very detailed their decor to provide a spot on beach feel. The kitchen was comfortable and large for preparingmeals. The bedrooms were spacious. The house had almost everything you need to have a wonderful time on the island.
