A wonderfully and respectfully restored property with beautiful sunrise views over Merimbula. The owner Casper, took the time to show us around and talk us through his restoration. We had the breakfast in the main hall which was great value and had THE BEST CROISSANTS ever, freshly baked and served warm. The little touches were not unnoticed. Boutique teas, coffee in the room, quality toiletries etc

Poorly sound proved walls, we could hear the neighbour's TV program until 1am. Room was not very clean, and we had to chase out a lizard.

Very nicely presented and great views over the town and harbour. Nice grounds including a decent sized pool and tennis court. Very comfortable rooms and beds. Lovely little touches in terms of the types of tea available and an espresso machine.
I booked two rooms, a double and a twin. Both bedrooms were nicely done but only one bathroom had been refurbished. The other one was very dated and orange with a tiny sink & low tap meaning I had to use a glass to fill the kettle as there was no way it would fit under the tap. A new bathroom would make a huge difference.

Fab sea views with balcony. Great king bed, fantastic mini bar and snacks, lovely continental breakfast. Loved the pool and lounges. Appreciated the beach towels provided in the rooms. Super friendly staff.

Ein ruhiges Hideaway für eine Übernachtung ok.
Frühstück ist sehr, sehr sparsam :(. Das angeblich renovierte Zimmer war fast schon wieder renovierungsbedüftig! Mit etwas frischer Farbe an den Wänden ist ein Zimmer noch lange nicht renoviert. Das sieht man spätestens wenn die Tür zum Bad geöffnet wird!

Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber und vom Zimmer hatte man eine tolle Aussicht. Der Pool und das Umfeld um den Pool wirken sehr einladend, leider hatten wir schlechtes Wetter.
Das Bad entspricht nicht einem modernen Bad, störte uns aber nicht, weil es super sauber war!

We love everything about the Hillcrest. The rooms are beautifully appointed with super comfortable beds, divine linen and magnificent views over the whole of Merimbula. The staff are fabulous and everything they offer is just top notch. It's our second stay, and it won't be the last.

So many great touches. Tennis court and fire pit.
Tasteful decor and space was very comfortable and clean.
Has a communal space to sit and enjoy stunning view.
Above all was the attention to detail and hospitality by host… Casper.

The lower level is a great example of 1970s Australian interior design, really well preserved and credit to the builder and current owner. The upper level has been modernised with good taste, but I prefer the lower level 1970s feel and hope it stays that way.

The fitout at this place was lovely and the view was amazing. The staff were very friendly. There was even loose leaf tea in the room.
I would have liked a microwave in the room. Not sure if there was one for use in the kitchen area, but on a Monday night food options in town were expensive and sub-par. The breakfast on offer looked fresh but it wasn't really to my taste.
