I'm so glad I stayed at Mama Tungu hostel and I can totally recommend it. The area is really green and you have waterfalls nearby. You can chill at the hostel the whole day, as there's a restaurant, the pool, the hot water tub,... and to get to Baños by taxi is easy. This was my favorite hostel during my 3 week holiday in Ecuador.

Beautiful hostel with a lot of space and chill spots. Right next to the waterfall trail. Great breakfast. Probably a very nice place to stay for couples!

Not very social, I didn’t see a lot of other guests, so not perfect for solo travellers. The location is nice for just relaxing and enjoying the view but quite far off the center of Baños. Compared to other hostels in Baños, everything here seemed a bit overpriced.

You’re going to spend more money than you want to here. You just put food and drinks on your tab and it adds up quickly.

Everything was just great. The people who work there and the facilities are extraordinary. There's also very good food and super affordable drinks. It's 15 minutes outside of town quite in the middle of the mountains, place Is very chill and Views are awesome. People who get there are from múltiple nationalities and willing to have a great time. I highly recommend this hostel!!!

I liked everything.

Thefacilities are amazing (pool, hot tub, beer pong, table tennis, volley ball, indoor & outdoor bar etc) The location is super unique with great views and three waterfalls within walking distance. Ubers are $2 to town and cabs $3 it’s super easy to get to town The breakfast is 10/10 - although annoying it starts at 8:30! the dogs! they have taken in strays who are super friendly and even joined us on the free walking tour!

walls are paper thin in private rooms! we had a leak in our bathroom which they didn’t fix or even really acknowledge private rooms are quite expensive there is no communal kitchen which is annoying when it’s not in town. FYI music plays outside until around midnight each night - you can hear this from all the rooms but it’s not too loud that earplugs won’t do the trick.

The accommodations were clean and well-appointed We loved their sustainability measures The facility has many additional perks over other hostels (treehouse, giant hammock, pool & hottub), as well as access to hiking trails. The location was quiet but accessible to Banos within minutes. The food at the on-site restaurant was good as well.

I wish the reception had had longer hours. We would have liked to check put earlier than 8am.

Only booked for the 2 nights but ended extending it for another two. The location (a little remore from Baños) is just perfect. The Hostel offers and helps with booking different activities, their kitchen is also really good. The rooms are very spacious and there is warm water around the clock, including a small balcony.

Great hostel run by a friendly bunch of Argentinians! The hostel is a bit out of the center of Baños, but for me that was a good thing as it was a lot quieter and you had the added benefit of having walks to waterfalls and viewpoints just right next to the hostel (you can easily take a taxi to and from town for $3, or if you walk 12 mins downhill you can take a bus for $0.30 but it's very steep to walk back uphill). The hot tub and pool was also great. The room I took was a good size with a comfy bed and had a lovely balcony with a hammock, which I wasn't expecting :) There were also plenty of activities on hand. I did yoga with the very sweet Gabi and a day trip to the Amazon near Puyo, but other options included canyoning, rafting

The wifi connection was very sporadic Walls were quite thin - I could hear neighbours conversations almost word for word

one of the best hostels we’ve stayed in South America. Amazing food, very clean, the common areas and facilities are brilliant - pool, jacuzzi, games, etc.

Location is stunning, tucked up a hill and surrounded by nature. I stayed in a single room with private bathroom and it was really comfortable. Surprised at how nice it was for a hostel. Nice pool and hot tub. Bar has good drinks. And it was a quiet Saturday night

All of it, the crew and the owner are amazing, the Pool and the Jacuzzi are the best and in general all the hostel facilities are the best.

It's not so easy to get to the hostel and from him to Baños, but the view is and the hostel totally worth it!

Everything was perfect. It was clean and the staff was super friendly and helpfull. It is a little bit out of town, but because of this you have the best views. Also you can visit a lot of waterfalls within walking distance. After this you can relax in the jacuzzi :)

lovely place, all staff were very friendly and welcoming and had a very chilled vibe. there weren’t too many people there so wasn’t really a party hostel but still met some nice people during our stay and dogs were so sweet

menu a little bit expensive but you get the portions you pay for. also a little far from baños centre but bus is easy and cheap to catch

The facilites are good but thats it.

No kitchen and food super expensive, bad location as it takes ages to get to banos to do any activities. Increased the room price upon arrival (after checking they had writteb in small print that a 22.5% tax was not included the price!

really nice hostel, super good facilities (my dorm had a marble en suite bathroom) with a warm jacuzzi and super nice pool. staff were super friendly and the bar was excellent too!

It is a bit separated from the rest of Baños, so if you’re going to be going into the centre a lot you need to be prepared to either take a taxi ($2/ride) or walk down the hill and take a bus (35c)
