Gorgeous character house , lovely location really enjoyed our stay after access issue resolved.

The lock box code had been changed and we were unable to get hold of the owner for hours which was unfortunate as we were exhausted having flown long distance the previous night. A lovely neighbour helped us finally get through to the owner at 8pm who was very apologetic.

The host is very friendly and responsive! We've had a small issue with the shower drain and she replied immediately and came over within the hour to fix it. The apartment is very tidy and the location is amazing for boulderers.

The photos and description available online are not clear about the layout of the apartment. The two bedrooms are actually connected and one has to walk through the other to go to the kitchen and bathroom. This is very inconvenient, especially if you have kids.

see what I didn't like. more important. here's what is nice: the location was decent. on a quiet street in a sleepy town. not much to do in the area. we stayed here because it was close to a famous climbing area.

I don't normally leave bad reviews because I don't want to negatively impact the owners and our individual preferences do not map to others. There are a few things everyone should know about this rental before proceeding: 1) this isn't a true 2 bedroom. there is a bedroom in the back and then another bedroom that splits the living room and the bedroom in the back. the bathroom is in the living room. this means that the ppl occupying the back bedroom need to walk through the middle bedroom to get to the bathroom. we did not enjoy this experience and felt that the listing was misleading. 2) the place is damp and smells. there is poor air circulation and a bad smell caused be a well on the property. it was quite unpleasant and we notified the owner. they told us to open the windows. the windows are new and very well built. however, there are a million bugs and mosquitos outside. we all have bad reactions to mosquitos and sleeping with the windows open was not an option. perhaps the owner can place screens on the window so the guests can enjoy a night of sleep without having to deal with bug bites. otherwise, you are trapped in a damp unit that smells bad. not ideal. 3) the bathroom drain was clogged. we were so excited to finally use a new bathroom because all the buildings in France are old. turns out that this bathroom looks new but it is just like the rest. the drain was clogged and the shower would flood. 4) the homeowner was not helpful and overbilled us. when we arrived at the property, there were no towels or toilet paper. we were told to bring our own on the day of arrival (like it was possible to drive around this region and find towels). because of all the issues we had with the property, we asked them to let us leave the next day and refund the remaining balance. they agreed and we left and booked another accommodation. instead of refunding the money, the owner claimed the front door was not closed and leaves blew in. She refused the refund.

Very nice location, garden and a pleasant stay. The host was very kind 👍
