Would recommend this house to everyone. House was beautiful and the perfect location. We had 8 in our our party and the house was perfect size. Fire pit, screened in porch looking out to the river, we all had a great time.

We loved the house. Actually we loved everything about it. The location is fantastic with lots of nearby places to go and eat. Would highly recommend this to anyone.

Rented the cabin for weekend. Cabin was in perfect location. Short drive to wverything and on the river. We just floated in front of the cabin because it was so easy and nice!

House was in a great location. House was nicely redone and kitchen was well stocked. We loved the screened in porch area overlooking the river. The river was nice and deep. We would stay here again.

My friends and I come every year to the river, and this house was by far one of the best houses we have stayed in. It had everything we needed and more. The screened in porch was a hit! The placement on the river was great as well. We loved it!

The house was a great place to stay for floating the river and going to a concert nearby. The host left us the cutest 4th of July basket when we arrived. Everything was in working order. Our family and friends had a great time. We will definitely be back.

Great experience overall! The ad forgot to mention the campsite across the river, but the house is so cool with the screened in porch that it didn’t really matter. You just have to drown out the competing stereos. It was Memorial Day weekend, so extra crowded. I’m sure off weekends are much more tame. Overall, it was great, and would rent again, just on an off weekend. We recommend this house for families or friends!

River Retreat is a beautiful, recently remodeled home right on the river. It was clean, comfortable and had all the things for a great weekend getaway! The hosts are so friendly and accommodating, we really appreciated their extra touch! The house had a great view with a lovely screened in back porch overlooking the Guadalupe. The house came with kayaks and stairs down to another deck for easy river access. We were perfectly located between River Road, White Water amphitheater and about 20 mins from Gruene. We are already planning our next trip back and will definitely be staying with Kim and Morgan again. Best host ever!

I rented this property with a few friends for a relaxing weekend on the river. The house was everything we expected it to be. All of the renovations and upgrades made it a comfortable experience. We thoroughly enjoyed the screened in deck especially at night. Being right on the river made it easy to enjoy the waterfront and the proximity to 2 toob rental places made a Saturday float very easy. We’re already planning our trip for next year so we can make sure we can book this house while it’s available.

The property was older but has been remodeled and seems to be well taken care of. It’s in a good location down river road. The Little Pondarosa Tube Company is just down the street but will pick you up at the house and then come get their tubes if you get out at the house. There were a few minor issues; the first being that the bunk room didn’t seem to cool off like the rest of the house, the pots were a cheaper set causing the bottom to not be flat and heat evenly so cooking for 8 people using a 6 inch skillet is less than ideal, also the knife set was on the cheap side the shears wouldn’t cut open the pack of bacon. Overall it was a good weekend.

From the clean smell as we entered the house and all the nice furnishings we were very pleased with our river house rental. Morgan and Kim thought of everything needed to make our stay awesome. We would definitely stay here again!

This home is beautiful and spacious. The screened in porch was excellent for sitting and watching the floaters go by. The outdoor fire pit area had chairs surrounding it and was super convenient because we didn’t have to upload our lawn chairs. The kitchen was AWESOME and there was plenty of table space for everyone to enjoy their meal. Great location that offered several floating options and the shuttle Little Ponderosa was in our neighborhood and extremely convenient. The folks there were top notch and extremely helpful. Our only complaint about the home is it was a little warm for our taste in the front bedrooms but the owners are having that upgraded soon! If you are looking for a nice home, right on the river that has it all… this is it!! The owners even provide kayaks for their tenants to use. Just awesome!! We plan on going back every year.

The house is freshly renovated, fresh and clean, and well designed for a family or a group of friends. There are lots of comfortable beds, a great floor plan, plenty of amenties / supplies, and plenty of parking. There is wifi available, just in case you need it. The location is perfect - a nice quiet neighborhood with direct access to a great stretch of the river right from the backyard. It has a great screened in outdoor porch, a grill, an outdoor shower, and a nice firepit for hanging out with your group after a day's worth of tubing. It's only a short distance to various stores and a tube rental place is just down the street. The house even has four kayaks for your group to use! The owner's are terrific and readily available, their communication is superb, and the check-in / check-out process is easy as could be. I feel that we could not have picked a better place to stay. I highly recommend River View Retreat, and we certainly plan on staying there again in the future.
