The cost of room, the staff, the location, the building, the rooftop terrace. This is a great hostal one I'd like to revisit.

I lost my glasses case somewhere in the hostal, so I put my rayban sunglasses in my bag as my glasses cost more, and the outcome was a lens cracking. No fault of the hostal, but I figured I'd mention it as I didn't like it...

We loved this place. Its very chilled and has a great, relaxed atmosphere. We loved the owners Chris and Paul, who were very helpfull with booking our tours, and gave us some good advices where to go. Everything at very reasonable prices. The place was cozy and everything in order. At the rooftop we had a great night hanging out with friends of the house. Exactly how we liked it. We highly recommand the hostal. And will 100% stay here again if (when) we come back. :-) Claudia, Denmark.

Hostal Ikal is well located, clean and beautifully decorated, with traditional artifacts, a lovely indoor courtyard, an indoor garden and comfortable furniture.

The staff forgot to leave us any towels, and since they had all retired for the night, there was no one we could ask to bring us any. Hence, we couldn't have a shower in the private bathroom. Furthermore, one of the staff members was unnecessarily abrupt, especially regarding my son, who was excited about traveling and, as a result, was running around in the courtyard a bit. This staff member even accused my son of breaking one of the security cameras, when subsequent examination showed that the camera in question was working perfectly and not broken at all.The situation could have been handled in a much kinder way and without resorting to false accusations, which distressed us both considerably.

I wanted a quiet place and found it. The roofterrace has a nice view and the hostel itself has a lot of space.

I stayed in a private room which was pretty dark. The shower was either too hot or cold. You can hear everything happening in the hostel in the rooms. A bit dark. Still a lot of work to do. Pretty cold.

Possibly the best location in town. Very close to the historic centre and yet quiet.

Chris is such an amazing and flexible person, my family and I enjoyed our stay. It's well located.

A lady who was staying over there was soooo annoying, talked really laud.

Very relaxed place in the city centre of San Christobal - within walking distance of all the main bars & restaurants. The owners are very friendly and welcoming, and the rooms are basic yet comfortable (value for money). The walls are thick, so there is not much noise. The common areas are perfect for lazing around & meeting other travellers - although we mostly kept to ourselves. We stayed for 3 nights and would definitely book here again!!

The location was really good.

We were robbed in this hotel. We arrived early in the morning and the hotel was supposed to have lockers. The owner told us that we could leave it at the reception since no one was going to enter and our luggage was going to be safe. When we came back we realized that we were missing a Sony speaker, 2 jeans, a T-shirt, 2 perfumes. We don't leave money but we are very grateful not to have left it since they would have been stolen as well. We talked to the owners and they didn't want to take care of it. They looked at the cameras and no one but the lady who cleans the hotel had definitely come in, we asked them to talk to her and they refused. We say this because we don't want it to happen to anyone else. Be careful at this property.

Great location, staff and atmospheric property. Also a great value for the price (and the water was nice and hot! Just be sure to shower at the end of the day rather than in the morning as I believe it’s solar panel heated). It ~is~ cold in San Cristobal this time of year but they provided a nice blanket which helped with the chill! Can recommend Hostal La Providencia for the budget minded traveler without hesitation.

Arturo is amazing manager and person , made my stay there the most comfortable that he could. the place is small and intimate with more travelers solo I think this is the place if you look of quiet and meet 1 or 2 people there and good price

It is closed to the center and quiet. The staff was nice.

I just regret that there was not a lot of guests to meet new People.

the staff was really helpful. I had stomach problems and he gave me some pills. The interior is nice, too.

everything good! maybe the walls`s room were a bit thick. It looked like that we are sleeping in the basement.
