This was a wonderful property. Everything is as advertised. It's clean, well kept, spacious, and in a great location. The staff is diligent and very friendly. It was all our family had hoped for.

Villa Tipsy Gecko was fantastic! We had our four children, their spouses and our four grand children. We had plenty of room to gather. The outdoor spaces were dreamy! We spent most of our time in Belize on property. The chef services were well worth it, high quality delicious food. All the staff were so friendly and accommodating. 10 out of 10 recommend.

This house surpassed our expectations. We appreciated each person who cooked, cleaned and kept our area spotless, especially Sonia and Domingo. We took advantage of the SUPs and kayaks as well as our pool and the pier. Very comfortable and a lovely place to stay in the Placencia area.

Stayed November 11-18 2023. Everything was top notch. Mabel was on top of things. Quick to respond to texts from Supplied mobile phone! Great to have on drive to Placencia with golf gart. Chef (we hired for the extra days) was awesome. Domingo did nothing but please our palets, Thanks again. Only thing that was not brought to our attention were outside lights. Found the pool lights and Palapa at end of pier lights second last day. A sign on post might help or include in orientation. All in all stay was 100% Would stay and recomend any Gecko properties to friends and family.

This property was wonderful however the air conditioning could be upgraded to do a little better job and a generator system needs to be installed in the event of a power outage which I experienced. If the power goes out you also have no water because the water is pumped.

We stayed at Tipsy Gecko for 7 weeks first & foremost the people here are the happiest, friendliest people we have ever met! The staff is absolutely amazing the house is kept spotless by Mabel & Mindy and Jorge rakes the beach and keeps the pool and grounds perfect. He will get you coconuts to drink the water from them everyday! Delicious! Always with a smile on his face. The house is great beds are very comfy and house is equipped with everything you need! The chefs were outstanding we had the most delicious food prepared for us Orlando was our favorite but all were great chefs!! We used Leo’s car rental down the street to take us on private excursions so you can do your own thing and not have to be with a large group. Cave tubing in St. Hermon cave is fun but if you want something a little more adventurous do the cave hike experience with Vida the guide, it was spectacular but you do need to be physically fit it’s well worth it! Swimming in the waterfall is fun and only 30 minutes away then have lunch on the top of the mountain with a 360 degree view of beautiful Belize! We did go to the Mayan ruins a 3 hour drive it was pretty cool and interesting then went to Guatemala !! A must do is to contact Corine at The Yacht Club which is down in the village she will send a boat in the bay of the village to get you, best bruschetta & jalapeño poppers ever! This truly was our favorite vaca from cold Michigan! Loved being on the beach & having the pier!

We visited for 10 days in February with a group of 8 (6 adults, 2 children ages 5 and 9). There was plenty of space in the house for our family, lots of room for adults and kids to both relax and play together. The house was very well appointed, and well maintained. The ENTIRE staff were so friendly. Mabel was attentive and welcoming. Domingo, the chef, was incredible. (To be honest, it's hard to write an excellent review because it means more people will want to stay here - which makes our plans to return even harder!!) We can't say enough about how wonderful our vacation was. This was paradise - and we all agreed: the best vacation we have ever been on.

Tipsy Gecko was a positive rental experience. The house was exactly as advertised, the staff (including chefs) were proactive, positive, and amazing, and the pre-trip communication was incredibly professional and helpful. I fully recommend this place and the Gecko properties (they have others that are different sizes for different groups of people).

The property is perfect and amazing. The staff and support is over the top. This is more a private resort than an simple short term house rental. From laundry done to fresh coconuts cut from the tree and opened for us to the in house chef. We felt more like billionares than normal people.

This is an excellent property for groups of 10 -12 people. Our party of 9 enjoyed the pool, kayaks, paddleboards and daily sunrises over the Caribbean sea. The property grounds are maintained daily (thank you Isaias) , including removal of any debris washing up on the beach to keep a picture perfect image every day. Isaias and Mabel ( ma-bel) provided very good local information on local foods/dishes and things to do. The Kitchen was well stocked with all necessary cooking appliances and utensils - (knives need to be sharpened). We had Chef cooked meals on 3 of the 7 days - Thank you, Manuel, who went above and beyond to get us lobster tails in addition to the pre-planned meals. A bonus - Cell phone service available throughout the peninsula - as well as the 50+Mb in-home wifi service. Will definitely visit again.

Visited Tipsy Gecko for a week with extended family. Eleven of us total with plenty of room for everyone. Great house, great location, and amazing host! Golf cart, pool, hammocks, beach, and dock kept us all entertained . Will be back again.

The Tipsy Gecko is everything it’s advertised to be. The home is beautiful and very comfortable for large groups. We found it well stocked with essentials to make the stay homey for a week and the team even stocked our fridge with our groceries before our arrival and a golf cart to drive into Maya Beach town. The amenities included for the beach and pool make it easy to get out and explore. The thing that really stands out to me is the staff - they are friendly, informative about their cultures and easy to engage. We hired Domingo as our chef for 5 meals with each being better than the last. Brenda was our house keeper and despite us having 6 kiddos she kept it in tip too shape. Each morning Jorge would clean the pool, scrape the beachside making everything pristine. The only potential downside is the location is appx mins into town but we didn’t find that to be an issue whatsoever.

The property is amazing. Open, clean, and the view is beyond amazing. But that is just half of the story. The staff took our adventure to the next level. Quality food and excellent service. Our days typically began with a view of the sunrise on the pier. After a full day of activity, or a relaxing day around the house, we also ended on the pier or in the pool. Placencia is a wonderful village, full of things to see and do. We cannot wait to return.

The chefs meals were far above expectation. Garnished and delicious. One of the chefs even bar tended for an evening making tropical cocktails with all the trimmings. Plenty of Kayaks, fishing equipment and lounging areas. The gold cart will get you about anywhere you want to go, but I would recommend a rental car if you plan to go to Placencia village for dinner. It’s a long ride on the cart. Two great restaurants within 10 min golf cart ride, maya bistro and green parrot….. even sat a table over from Dee Snyder from twisted sister at the mata bistro. Great time.

Beautiful home with excellent amenities. Private pool overlooking your own beach was amazing. Great place for quiet time with the family. Only local excursions are fishing and diving, which we did both, but any cultural or land excursion is roughly a 2-4 hour round trip bus ride. .But if you want a peaceful quiet vacation this is an amazing place. Staff is excellent and very attentive, cleanliness was unmatched as staff was at our disposal, and even did our laundry daily. Chef did a great job at meeting all of our dietary restrictions and was very flexible. Overall amazing week in beautiful setting with no worries.

We had a company trip and the house was perfect to accommodate our entire group. Would absolutely stay here again.

We cannot say enough wonderful things about our stay at Villa Tipsy Gecko! Our family/friend group of nine stayed for one week. The house was immaculate. Mindy, Mabel and Brenda did a wonderful job! The grounds were maintained every day along with the pool. The meals that were made for us by Miguel for three days (breakfast, lunch and dinner) were scrumptious! Domingo went above and beyond with taking care of us! Mabel was amazing and really took care of us with anything we asked. We felt so at home and boy were we spoiled! We cannot wait to come back!

What a phenomenal vacation- everything was perfect. We (family of 8 adults) could not have asked for a better time - from first inquiry all the way through. Chefs were amazing, space clean and welcoming and privacy was never an issue. Although we could not snorkel in front of the house, the pool was the perfect size and temperature. Local excursions provided lots of opportunities for snorkeling, wildlife viewing etc. Would highly recommend to everyone!

This was my 4th visit to a Gecko property and we have enjoyed our stay at everyone of them.

From the time my family of 8 arrived, we were treated like royalty and the house was a castle! I cannot explain how the whole experience was for my grandkids and my sons and daughter-in-law ‘s. Every one had their own room. Wow!! We were home in Belize. Bob, the owner helped us from the beginning and Javier, Mabel and our chef, Domingo helped us while there. Even when our resident iguana left a mess in the pool, the staff were there immediately and made the pool clean within 20 minutes and every one was back in the pool enjoying again. The peninsula, Placencia, Maya Beach Bistro, the waterfall,..spectacular!!! The house is right on the Caribbean and has its own private pier. You can sit in the pool as well and just stare out at sea. The home is VERY private. The view from our rooms no picture can do justice to. What a way to wake up. I know we will come again. What a real vacation is supposed to be. You have to visit Tipsy Gecko Villa. You will not regret it.

We enjoyed a wonderful stay at Villa Tipsy Gecko. The property was lovely with beautiful views. The grounds were meticulously kept and the housekeeping exceptional. The chef was delightful and the food scrumptious. Laundry service was wonderful. The entire staff was friendly and informative. Highly reccomend!

We LOVED everything about Tipsy Gecko. The place is even more beautiful than it looks in the pictures. The staff was so friendly and helpful, but unobtrusive. Having daily laundry service was a special bonus. The chef made us two wonderful dinners, and we had leftovers enough for an extra meal. We didn't use him for any other meals, but I would do so on future trips. The grounds and house are meticulously maintained and well stocked, with kayaks, paddle boards, pool floats, towels, books, and games. A snack was waiting for us when we checked in. The location is perfect. We were picked up on the dock for several excursions (fishing, snorkeling), and it was an easy drive to Placencia for dinner, or in the golf cart for nearby restaurants. Can't wait to return!

Celebrating our 35th anniversary. We decided to celebrate with 7 close friends. Could not have made a better choice. Mabel and crew took care of us like royalty. Every meal cooked by Manuel and Domingo was excellent. The house was kept exceptionally clean. Unfortunately for me my wife will be expecting this on every vacation from here on.

We had seven days of gorgeous sunny weather . The house is sensational seems to have been designed especially for large families. They tell me it’s been newly redecorated -it sure looks like it was just redone lastweek. the accommodations are luxurious. They seem to have thought of everything: six passenger golf cart ( The kids love it ) bicycles paddle boards and kayaks And the Caribbean ocean is in our backyard ,right behind our private kidney shaped swimming pool. Will be back - next time we will bring the other side of the family .It will be especially fun to impress my wife’s side of the family

Nothing was left to question. This was an AMAZING stay. The house is exceptionally clean and comfortable. The kitchen is well-outfitted. The pool and beach are relaxing and gorgeous. The staff is attentive, kind and helpful. The location was so quiet and peaceful! We came for a week in March for chill family (multigenerational) time and diving and snorkeling excursions. We loved every minute! The 3 days of chef meals were expertly prepared and so fresh and tasty. We even asked for a cookbook! (wink) Having the house cleaned every day made us feel refreshed and relaxed. The daily laundry option was a real help as there were kids in our group! Look no further for your Belize vacation. Book with confidence at Tipsy Gecko. I would recommend this house to anyone - families, groups of friends, multigenerational groups. There was PLENTY of room to spread out and feel comfortable! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

We had the most amazing time at the Tipsy Gecko! The house was more beautiful than the pictures, and more spacious! It had more than enough room for 4 adults and 4 children. Plenty of room!!! The outside is just as magnificent as the inside. The kids lived in the pool at night, the water temp was perfect. At night there are lights in the pool to light it up! The sand area is raked every day and is free of any debris. Plenty of room for the kids to run around and play. The patio has plenty of shade and places to sit. The dock is also incredible. Every morning we sat on the dock and watched the sunrise. If you are lucky, you may be visited by some manatees, stingrays, dolphins, and lots of fish. At night you can see the milky way from the dock. Last but not least, was the staff. Domingo, and Manuel made us the most delicious meals! Domingo and Mabel greeted us as we arrived. They made us drinks, and had dinner ready. Mabel gave us the tour of the house, and all the info we would need for the week. We would definitely come back to stay here again!

Beautiful home, great location. But most amazing was the staff and the chefs! The most friendly and helpful people. And the best food. Overall, we all had an amazing time. Woukd go back and would recommend this place!
