Unfortunately, there wasn't much to like about this hotel. The best I can say is the restaurant was excellent for dinner. The young man at the front desk was nice, but his English was very bad and hard to understand.
When we checked in the young man at the desk said we would be charged a $50 damage fee in case we destroyed or damaged something...we are both 70+ years old and staying overnight! WHAT??? Also, he said we should park on the side of the building to access the elevator. Unfortunately,, it was dark and there was no lighting so it was extremely dark and difficult to see and access the building. We asked for a room close to the elevator because my husband was using a cane and leg brace (scheduled for surgery the next day). Once we got to the 3rd floor, we had to walk to the end of the very long hallway to get to our assigned room. Then we wanted to get dinner and opted to go down the 3 flights of stairs across from our room, instead of walking the hallway to the elevator. Upon returning to the room, we noticed that the ceiling had black streaks of (I am assuming here) mold, which was trying to hide under white paint, but failed. The bed felt like a slab of plywood it was so hard. This is NOT what we expected of a Wyndym hotel! So disappointed.

Nice enough place. Way too expensive
Very expensive and no breakfast or coffee in the lobby. One pod in the room. When I went down to the front desk to ask for more I got an attitude from the clerk. I paid 375 bucks for one pod of coffee and no breakfast

Hotel was old and outdated. Appeared unclean (trash in elevators, parking lot, etc.), potholes in parking lot. Also, had to ask for clean towels - did not expect this when we booked.
Lots! Worst experience - we were awakened at midnight by hotel staff banging on our door. Did not show any identification OR verbally identify himself. Told us he called the room - we never got a call. Also, left message on cell phone. We were asleep - had phone on silence. Leak from our frig causing water leak to room below us. We never used the frig., so had no idea. This experience was very frightening to us! We have NEVER had this happen. This hotel was far from worth the $800+ we paid for 2 nights! I would like to request a REFUND! Booking.com should not recommend this hotel.

This property is absolutely unacceptable. The real reviews are all the 1/2 reviews. The 10’s are bots. There are bugs, blood on sheets and trash in hallways. Our entire team (lacrosse tournament) had to abandon the property mid stay and did not receive our money back as it was too late to get it back. This is how bad the property was that many hard working people were willing to pay for a second hotel so they didn’t bring bed bugs home with them. Honestly this property should be condemned. I have never written a review like this but no one should ever have to go thru a night like that!!!

The location was good near food and shopping. 1 hour from Rehoboth Beach.
There was no breakfast offered. The curtain sheers were shredded and thread bare. The TV has no cable. No thermostat for the room. You controlled the heat from the unit. The hotel is very dated.

The gentleman at the front desk was pleasant. He did offer us another room when we mentioned to him
our concerns. But Room 430 also had a smell so we decided to check out of the hotel. (Would have checked out Sunday night but it was late and we were tired from our drive).
Room 432 smelled of mildew which irritated my nose & throat and caused my heart to palpitate. Therefore I did not have a good night's sleep even after putting the sheet over my head. The hallway needed cleaning. The same food or trash that was on the floor when we arrived Sunday night was still there Monday morning. The sheer curtain in our room was ripped and the drapes hung down on both sides making us afraid to open or close them. (I took pictures as evidence). I'm usually not one to complain but this was not a good experience for me!

It was disgusting, truly - one of the worst hotels I’ve ever visited and I’ve stayed in hotels all across the US and internationally. We stayed in mid-June Fri. & Sat. nights for nearly $400 before taxes ( extremely overpriced for the hotel conditions and location). Read the real Google reviews (1-star) about this hotel in the last year or so. They describe how dirty, smelly and worn out the property is. Booking.com should NOT describe this as a ’3-star’ hotel. It’s gross. It is not an acceptable excuse for staff, management or corporate to use the fact that the property is coming up for a renovation (as they do in a reply to a negative review). They need to clean it. They need to fix things that are broken or stop using those rooms that have broken or missing features. 
Staff was clearly frustrated, almost defeated. They were practically arguing in front of me as I checked in.
We had to ask for another room when we discovered our room was not only not fully cleaned (dirty tub), but AC didn’t work. Second room had AC but many other issues. We stayed but didn’t complain again because we had already been told “we don’t have a maintenance guy to send.” There was no fridge or microwave (even though the room type we paid for included that); no tissues or ice bucket; no pen or pad of paper; and (just an observation) no Bible. Tub and sink drains were both slow due to clogging ( the tub filled with water as you showered, so your feet were always in the water). Areas near elevator or stairs were so dirty that a pungent odor hit you as you came in. Parking lot was even bad - litter and cracks/weeds throughout the whole thing. “Breakfast” was mediocre (we didn’t expect much); coffee urn was propped on a chair. We didn’t dare use the pool or gym (never saw anybody there). We also didn’t trust that the small Mexican restaurant wouldn’t be as dirty as the rest of the hotel so we didn’t go (but the small bar appeared to have very inexpensive drinks).

Overall just wasn't clean, electrical socket on night table did not work, the socket on the wall only worked if you adjusted it, so you had to move a chair in order to charge a phone.

The entire place smelled bad. Our room had mold in it, the curtains were ripped and the bed was so old you could hear the springs when you rolled over.

Wifi was great. Staff was great. Loved the Mexican restaurant attached to the hotel. Rooms were basic but clean.
We stayed at the Wyndham Garden Dover for the NASCAR race. The hotel needs some TCL. The wall paper in the lobby is peeling in places and the carpet is ripping as well. Lots of people in the hotel and they made a mess. Not a lot of staff to clean up.
