I've stayed before, I go to the Scott Trial and look for somewhere like Bedale which is close. The place has been renovated to a high standard, well done and immaculate. Liked the way the shower ran hot from the start. I had the beef chilli, slow to start but really good and hot after a couple of mouthfuls.

Lovely room and bed very comfortable
The stairs were steep especially as we were on the top floor
But nothing can be done about that
The radiator did not work , so no heat in the room .
An emergency plumber was called out on the Saturday evening . On the Sunday morning no one was aware if the plumber had been or not .
Would have been nice if we were asked if we had been alright with no heating as it had been a cold night , or if they had a small portable heater that could have been given to us .
Towels were left outside our room on the saturday .
The key to our room was lost !! so the cleaner couldn’t get in to do our room .

Pretty little Georgian town on the old A1. Attractive old coaching inn from the outside. Pleasant staff. Room immaculate and well appointed (if a little cramped). Good breakfast.
Interior of the bar and restaurant rather characterless. Sunday lunch disappointing, meat warmed up, veg overcooked.

Staff were friendly and the food was good. General atmosphere was homely. Generally a good place to stay.
The parking front of the hotel required a "disc", which the premises were willing to supply, but they and the local council expected everyone to know about this before you arrived, thus i was unprepared and didn't know what was actually wanted upon arrival. thankfully they had an agreement with the neighbouring pub to be able to park in their car park. I don't think I will be visiting that town again because of this (I have already booked to make the same trip I was on for next year, so this is a lost sale thanks to the Council).

Great hosts and welcoming staff who were very friendly. Rooms are spacious, modern and very clean and the full English breakfast to that and you have your perfect stay 👏👏

Great pub lovey good old English pub atmosphere, superb food, breakfast lovely all the food piping hot and great choice both at breakfast and evening meals. Good location. Room was clean and bathroom spacious, not a great view from the room at the back but didn't bother us we were out most of the time, didn't see much of the owners as they were very busy but when we did chat to them they were lovely people, would definitely go back

The owners, Steve and Claire, were wonderful, and very friendly and accommodating! The bed was very comfortable and the room was cozy. Although my room was located above the pub, it was not noisy at all. I hope to return to the Green Dragon again someday!

From the moment I walked in the staff were friendly the green dragon was warm and welcoming , the room was cosy, spotlessly clean , the bathroom shinning , it was warm all night long x

Parking at hotel was free on street but limited. Pub provided disc for 2 hours free. Car park nearby for £1.80 a day.

Great hotel great staff, on negative was that I have arthritis and the stairs were troublesome, ground floor would have been perfect.

Due to a genuine mistake on our part, not informing about having 2 dogs, we were greeted by a very rude woman, whinging on & on & telling my partner @ 730 on a Sunday morning to get out, I booked a dog friendly stay & didn’t read everything, our friend stayed too & made the same mistake, also our 2 little border terriers are cleaner than most humans,

The inn is beautifully situated in the middle of Bedale, N. Yorks. The staff (and customers!) were extremely friendly, and the room could not be faulted. We intend to stay there again.
Unfortunately the electricity went out for a couple of hours, meaning we had to seek dinner in the town. An excellent Indian restaurant nearby saved the day.

The single room was perfect for what I needed (a place to shower, change and crash) plenty of room with a good sized en suite. Can't fault it for the price and the breakfasts were spot on!
Floor in the room creaked, so I was concerned I was waking the whole floor when getting up early.

The breakfast was lovely, good quality and plenty of choices. The allocated parking outside was appreciated. All of the staff were friendly and helpful and there was a very nice atmosphere. We each had a single room which though not large was exceptionally well designed with a very nice en suite. 5* all round!

Central location in Bedale and a great place from where to explore Wensleydale and beyond. Modern well sized bedrooms with excellent shower. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast superb. Highly recommended!
