The Chateau by the Sea was the perfect place to explore around beautiful Gig Harbor - tucked behind a gate in the guesthouse of an exclusive, waterfront property (with exquisite landscaping!), the rental was comfortable, clean, and lovely. It reminded us of Italy. Shannon was a thoughtful and friendly host with an eye for detail and extra little touches that made our stay warm and welcoming. Highly recommend!

This property and its owner were everything we hoped it would be. The pictures and descriptions are spot on. It was extremely clean, had everything we needed, comfortable, in an awesome location, super nice and responsive owners. My standards are very high and this one stays on my list! I have stayed in many VRBO's over the years, this was by far the best. Home is exactly as described by host. Absolutely beautiful setting, many amenities in the kitchen, comfy bed and views, views, views! I was looking for a rejuvenation weekend, could have stayed another week it was so sublime. This guest home is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! It’s perfect for a quick getaway. The was super comfy and view from the peoperty is amazing. The hosts were so easy to communicate with and made the check in and check out process super easy. I highly recommend this property and I can’t wait to book again!

What an amazing place in magical Gig Harbor. The private garden guest cottage has everything you need to feel pampered and comfortable. Shannon was beyond helpful and communicative to make sure you have the best time. And then the view… wow!

We arrived just after Christmas for a short get away. It was a wonderful, rejuvenating few days. The chateau is beautiful, comfy and well appointed. The bed is very comfortable. The bathroom is lovely. Shannon and Loren made us feel very welcomed, were flexible and were available when we needed them. Can't wait to come back in the summer months. Definitely happy we chose to stay there and you will be too!

What a wonderful place to rejuvenate. It’s quiet, serene, and beautiful. The chateau is in a quiet neighborhood with access to amazing shopping/restaurants within a short walking distance along the harbor. The host, Shannon, is super personable and lovely. I wasn’t too disappointed when our show was rescheduled since it will give us another opportunity to enjoy another stay.

The property is absolutely gorgeous! The “estate” is magnificent and the location perfect! The property is the carriage house attached to the main home. The interior is stunning! Wonderful bed and fabulous bath. Owners are very nice and accommodating. Dogs are adorable too. I would point out that there is no view directly from the carriage house so you will need to walk around the main house to see the incredible view. There is a lovey seating area down a little hill just for VRBO guest. Very comfortable. We loved sitting there and watching boats and the gorgeous sunset.

My husband and I stayed for a brief two nights to attend a friend's wedding nearby. The property was immaculate. Shannon was a great communicator and a wonderful host. 10/10 would go back again!

Wonderful host and a spectacular property

This is a beautiful property…fabulous views and a wonderful Pacific NW garden. The host/owner, Shannon, was easy to communicate with, helpful and hospitable and sensitive to providing guests privacy. Kitchen works for in unit cooking, bed super comfy, bathroom roomy with hood shower and in unit laundry. The property is very safe and secure with easy access to the peninsula, Mt Rainier, Tacoma and even Seattle.

The Chateau by the Sea is highly recommended. perfect location. Your hosts will be the added bonus; such fine people. This venue is so wonderful, we chose carry-out each evening to enjoy the private peaceful retreat. The 1-5 rating scale on the app should go to 10!

I couldn’t have had a more relaxing, calming and beautiful place to enjoy celebrating my 60th birthday. Our hosts were fabulous, thoughtful and were wonderful to share their fabulous view. They also provided us with suggestions for things to check out in Gig Harbor and surrounding area, which was helpful as this was our first (but certainly not our last) trip here.

This property is heavenly. I asked if I was in heaven. And they said “no” it’s Gig Harbor. Shannon and Loren are great host. Beautiful property with fresh figs waiting for us upon check in. We would love to stay there again when returning. Thank you so much.

Our stay at Chateau by the Sea was exactly what we had hoped for. And then some! Communication before our arrival was easy and concise so traveling in from another state was effortless. When we arrived we were blown away by the property and mostly the amazing gardens. We met the homeowners and spent a bit of time walking the property together and just taking it all in. We so appreciate the wealth of knowledge they shared with us. The guest house itself is perfect for two, tastefully decorated and incredibly well maintained. And after busy days with local friends and family, we were so grateful to return home to a peaceful atmosphere. Huge thanks to Shannon and Lorne (and their pups) for sharing their beautiful home with us and we hope to return regularly!

We were blown away by the beauty of the property when we arrived. We had seen the pictures, but pictures don’t capture the elegance of the place. The beautiful aroma of the flower garden combined with the view was surreal. The property itself was immaculate, but even more amazing was the hospitality of the owners. We’ve stayed in many vacation rentals over the years and have never enjoyed a place as much as we did this property. Initially we chose this property because it was situated in a place where we could take many day trips, and we did, but we could have been content going no where and just relaxing here. We would like to thank the property owners for opening up their home to us, sharing their piece of paradise for the week, and for the great hospitality that was given to us.

From the moment you enter the property, you can tell you will have a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The entire home, grounds, and guest house were breathtaking. It felt like a Pottery Barn on-site photo shoot! Swoon. Shannon had placed fresh cut flowers from her garden, a handwritten note, along with wine and cider for us in the Chateau. The Chateau was the cleanest home my husband and I have ever rented. It was very easy to relax here. As parents of three very busy kiddos, it was just what my husband and I needed to reset and recharge. Everything we needed and more was included. We had told Shannon that we were excited at the possibility of seeing a whale. She called us as soon as she saw a small pod of Orcas and met us with binoculars to show us where to look! It was the once-in-a-lifetime stay that we had thought it would be! Shannon made herself available but also gave us room to relax. Her pups are the cutest ever, too! We have been conflicted on whether or not to share this wonderful home with friends, for fear of it booking out before we can get back! Highly recommend this home and hostess! Shannon is the best! Thank you again!

My husband and I found Shannon and Lorne's property to be the cleanest property that we have ever rented. The views were breathtaking and the hospitality was above and beyond! Shannon had cut fresh flowers and a bottle of wine waiting for us when we arrived. She offered wonderful advice on where to eat and activities to try while we were in Gig Harbor. Her suggestion for our anniversary dinner was spot on and one of the best meals that we have ever had. We look forward to returning when we are able to do some hiking around Mt. Rainier and Olympic National Park. I would highly recommend a stay here!

My husband and I celebrated our 33 year anniversary with a trip to WA state. This property was absolutely stunning! Every detail was well thought out and designed to inspire a romantic, couples get away. The casita was immaculately clean, beautiful and the estate grounds exquisite. The views overlooking Puget Sound were indescribable. Beauty all around! While we enjoyed Gig Harbor tremendously, some of our favorite moments were sitting out back overlooking the water below. Our hosts were warm, friendly and gracious. Fresh flowers, homemade pastries… who can ask for more? We have stayed at numerous rentals over the years but this property was one of our absolute favorites!

Prepare to pick up your Jaw when driving through the gates of this property. And that's before you walk into the Guest House of this Chateau. It's every bit the description in the listing, if not more. My wife and I are into plants and gardens, and the grounds blew us away. The view from the owner's backyard (of which they share a large portion with guests) is absolutely stunning. The property is about a 2 min drive or 20-30 min walk into Downtown Gig Harbor. The owners are on the premises, but not intrusive whatsoever. Shannon & Lorne are a great source of information on restaurants, activities, and anything else one could need to enjoy the area. A true waterfront gem!

This property was all and more as to what the on-line descriptions were. The property was a great home base for visiting several National Parks which split our drive up between Western and Eastern parks. The hosts were great to work with and had a nice welcome surprise waiting for us. We were going to arrive late so the host had the lights turned on for us welcoming us. My wife and I have stayed at numerous VRBO's and this is far and above one of the nicest places we stayed. There are numerous restaurants within walking distance. We would tell anyone going to this area that this is the place to stay.

Our jaws dropped when we passed through the entry gate to the property! The main home and landscaping is stunning, and the separate guest house where we stayed is equally incredible. It boats a large gourmet kitchen, a comfortable living space with a fireplace, and a gorgeous bedroom and bath. It’s very quiet and private, and extremely romantic. We barely left the guest house. We were enjoying every minute of our stay. The host left us flowers and was very accessible and friendly when we had questions, but otherwise left us to ourselves. There is also a great outdoor sitting area overlooking the sound for the guests’ use, which we enjoyed very much. I cannot recommend this place enough if you are looking for a quiet, romantic getaway in the Puget Sound area.

Shannon and Lorne were perfect hosts and their vacation home was as well. The house clean, comfortable and well stocked. It was walking distance to the quaint Gig Harbor Waterfront. I highly recommend this home during a stay in Gig Harbor

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful VRBO rental during our vacation, and I must say it was a fantastic experience! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality and felt right at home. The property was clean, well-maintained, and had all the amenities we needed to make our stay comfortable. The guest house was spacious, and the bed was very comfortable which made for a good night's sleep. The kitchen was well-stocked with all the necessary appliances, and we enjoyed cooking our own meals during our stay. One of the standout features of the rental was the water and mountain view from the property. The location was also ideal, just a short drive to town, which was very convenient for us. The owner of the property was extremely accommodating and always available to answer any questions we had. They provided us with detailed instructions on how to check-in, and everything went smoothly. Also, the driveway is gated and we felt safe and secure during our stay.
