My 51st birthday celebration at this canal front property in Hitchcock, Texas was an absolute dream come true. Nestled along the tranquil waterway, this clean, modern, and contemporary home provided the perfect retreat for our special occasion. The stunning views of the canal from the backyard created a serene backdrop for relaxation and enjoyment. Fishing right from the backyard was an incredible experience, and the few red drum and blue crabs we caught added an exciting element to our celebration. The provided crab traps were a fun and convenient touch, enhancing our fishing adventures. The interior of the home was equally impressive, with its sleek design and comfortable furnishings making us feel right at home. The spacious layout allowed for seamless indoor-outdoor living, with glass doors opening up to the waterfront patio where we could enjoy alfresco dining and sunset views. The peaceful ambiance of the area provided the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, allowing us to unwind and truly savor the moment. Whether we were casting a line off the private yard or simply soaking in the beauty of our surroundings, every moment was pure bliss. In summary, our stay at this canal front property exceeded all expectations! We even stayed an extra night! And the host Melanie was fantastic! She communicated very well, and was very responsive and prompt in all communication. And she had no problem, extending our stay for an extra day.

This property was so nice! It was wonderful to hang out by the water and fish and catch crabs. We definitely threw back what we caught but there was a large variety considering how hot it was outside. The inside of the property was clean and well kept. We were definitely loved our stay and can't wait to come back.

Melanie was an awesome and very understanding in our needs. This is perfect place to stay with access to the back channel for fishing and crabbing. The patio was wonderful for the family to gather and enjoy the breeze. Can't ask for anything more.

Host Melanie was the best; responsive, proactive, and very nice. We scheduled this trip to the area to break in our new boat and get some fishing in. We have stayed at a couple other places in the neighborhood in the past and initially picked this place because of the prime parking for the boat. After staying there, this place is everything you would want at your home away from home; it’s very clean, organized, fresh, roomy and comfy. We enjoyed coming back to the place after a day on the water. We caught some red and black drums down south in the ICW and almost a dozen crabs out in the back of the place; the crab nets were already there, we just added the chicken. The fish cleaning station in the backyard was very convenient; very easy to clean the fish quickly without having to carry them upstairs to the house. Great experience, we will definitely be back. This is a wonderfully well put together property, there was amazing views and 100% transparency throughout our stay. I will be returning once im back in Texas.

The house was very clean, the kitchen had everything we needed and the decor is fabulous. The yard and spacious porch downstairs kept the teenagers occupied while I cooked and got ready for activities. They fished, used the crab traps and played football. Short drive to Galveston and surrounded by great little restaurants. The neighbors are quiet and friendly, especially the Lab that lives down the street. I really liked the communication about the property. The reaponses were quick and always friendly. We all had a fantastic time and will definitely be back! Hitchcock Bayou was a blast!

We had a great time at the house. It was very nice and had everything we needed while there. We rented kayaks and fished and crabbed and caught several of both. It was a great stay.

This was the perfect home away from home. My guys enjoyed trapping and fishing in the canal. It was quiet and peaceful, but close enough to the beaches and attractions without all the noise. Loved it.

This was our first experience renting a vacation home and this home was just amazing! We were so happy with our choice. The home was more beautiful and comfortable than we had hoped. The house was exceptionally clean and extremely well stocked!!! The kitchen was amazing and we enjoyed cooking together. The owner responded to my texts immediately, we were well taken care of. Would stay here again!"

We rented the house because we were going to the crawfish festival nearby. Decided we liked the peace and quiet better and stayed at the house the whole weekend. Wonderful outdoor space, we were barely inside. The covered deck was great to get out of the sun when we needed to.

Very cute cozy cottage. Not in Galveston but close enough to everything to do in Galveston. Plus crab fishing or regular fishing from the banks.

The online description says comfortably sleeps 7 and not max occupancy of 7 including kids under 5. We had to pay extra because we had more than 7. We drove 8 hours to get to his house so it was not an option to leave without paying the penalty of having more than 7 total. The house itself was very clean and nicely furnished with everything you need. The neighborhood is a little run down. We didn't have any luck catching any fish or crabbing.

The check in time was great, other than that it was horrible. No privacy. They had a neighbor keeping an eye on us. We were kicked out because I decided to let 1 family stay the night. . The reason for that was because of safety. I did not want them to drink and drive. They wanted to charge each person $100. The host was hostile and horrible, threaten with trespassing. Was not accommodating and did not want to work things out. I would not recommend renting this place to anyone

We had to re-wash towels after first night shower so that we could have fresh towels for the next day. No kitchen towels. It rained on the final night of our stay. The next morning the high water was very challsnmade it nearly impossible to get to our vehicle without stepping in My husband had to walk thru about foot of water to get to the trash can on the lower deck where we were instructes to put trash before leaving. out the trash can on the back deck loods really quick when rains making it impossible to We had to hours the last night which

Everything in this house is very comfortable and convenient with lots of nice little touches like the coffee bar and the simulated fireplace in the master bedroom. The tv has every app you could want plus cable and the house stays nice and cold if you need a low temp for sleeping. This is a great place to go launch a kayak or small boat, you can't get under the railroad bridge on high tide bit there's still plenty of good marsh to fish. I caught some reds and a keeper flounder plus some small specks drifting in the main "lake" marsh area to the left of the bridge. If you set up some construction lights in the canal it brings lots of fish in but all smaller this trip, with fall coming that will change though! The grill is great as well plus if you keep the crab traps stuffed full of fish you'll catch a good amount of blue crabs. There is another boat launch at Louis around the corner and good convenient stores plus some good restaurants (also Louis grill and bait camp) All in this is just a great place to hang out and get away!
