Do not hesitate to book your stay. This place is even better than described. Perfect private location. Fully stocked and so many extras. The owners went the extra mile with phone chargers in every room, extra blankets and towels, a dog tie out, fresh fruit, toiletries, etc. All of the decor from world travels were so interesting. Overall the best VRBO we have stayed at. We will book again!

Relacing on the front porch while the Hummingbirds battlef for dominance over the feeder was so entertaining. Covertly watching the groundhog family foraging for dinner nearly filled our days. Along with hiking and visiting local attractions. The house was perfect. Clean with every detail well considered for guests. Im sure we will visit again soon.

Cabin is private with a great view! Owner was great to work with. Amaizing decor inside! Plenty of interesting items host had collected from his world travels. Also, some great creature comforts: amazing hot tub, quality memory foam King size beds, and entertainment area with an awesome surround sound system. Would highly recommend!

The views from Jim's property are AMAZING! The entire setting is an experience you must have at least once! At every glance inside Jim's house you will discover pieces he has collected from all over the world. It is truly a gift he is sharing with anyone who stays. The house was clean, well equipped, fully stocked and packing up and leaving was a breeze. Would definitely return!

We’ve visited the Davis/Thomas area for some spring break mountain biking. It was a great trip and our stay was a big reason. The house is extremely clean, comfortable, and very cozy, which we appreciated during the rainy/snowy weather. The kitchen was extremely well appointed. We got a lot of use out of the hot tub! Jim was very responsive with any question we had; his house is definitely on our short list for our next trip to Tucker County!

Always enjoyable time at Jim’s cabin. Hiking to Dolly Sods and all that the area has to offer once out and about to explore fills up any time spent here. Blackwater Falls State Park is gorgeous and Timberline Mntn is a great spot for hitting the slopes. Jim’s cabin is fully stocked with all your needs to stay in for meals and comfort.. Sharp knives, Calphalon pots/pans end microplane accessories, fridge with ice/water make kitchen top notch. BEST Integera home sound system on the East Coast and comfy beds, hot tub ALL make this cabin prime. Jim is great in communication and we appreciate him sharing his cabin. Again.

The property is well appointed with a great view of the Canaan valley. The beds were comfortable and the hot tub was great after a day of skiing at Timberline Mountain.

Our Cabin was sooo cozy, comfortable and in the PERFECT locations for skiing, tubing and the sled run! Highly recommended!

We stayed for 3 nights over Christmas. The cabin was very well stocked and we probbaly would have been fine not bringing as much as we did! Everything I needed to cook with was available, the decor reminded me of traveling during my childhood, and we loved the property location. This was our first time in this part of WV, and we will definitely be back!

Our family drove from South Carolina for the snow, and we were lucky enough to get around a foot while we were there. We skied, sledded, cross-country skied, hiked, and visited caves. The trip was amazing and we loved the cabin, it was perfect. The fireplace is incredible and kept us so warm. Michael was great to communicate with! Pretty amazing sitting in the hot tub while it’s snowing out. Thank you for a comfortable home filled with everything we needed!

We enjoyed a wonderful weekend at this beautiful house backing up against the Dolly Sods wilderness. The house had everything you could ask for in terms of cooking implements, a fantastic sound system and very comfortable beds. Between the hiking, the three inches of snow that fell on our second day there and the stargazing from the hot tub, this was truly one of the best weekend escapes ever.

We had a wonderful stay at Highland Rest! Great location and wonderful & well appointed home. We had an 8 pt buck greet us when we first arrived! The owner was super communicative. There was a snafu that he was on top of and made all right with us in the end. No problem, no hassle! The gated community was wonderful and because of the position of the homes privacy was not an issue. So many trails within the community and wildlife galore without leaving! The views and sunset were amazing! Just what we needed! Thank you Jim! We want to come back again!!

A very comfortable cabin nestled in gorgeous surroundings. An ideal setting if you want to get away from it all and enjoy pristine natural beauty.

We didn't have great weather but the house is so comfortable and full of great amenities that we relaxed and enjoyed family time. We explored the little towns of Davis and Thomas on the rainiest day. The views were still amazing! Super comfortable accommodations from beds to the cooking utensils.

First thing Jim is awesome couldn’t ask for a better property owner. Everything you need to feel right at home. Views are amazing as well as the location. We had a great time, look forward to staying here again.

We had a great getaway & loved the location. Jim was very prompt answering any questions we had & was able to help our tv issue right away over the phone. We saw lots of wildlife & really enjoyed looking at all the stars at night while relaxing in the hot tub! We will be returning next year!

My husband, parents, and I stayed together and had a wonderful time. The house is beautiful and decorated with all kinds of interesting items from all over the world. The beds were very comfortable and all the electronics such as TVs, Stereo, kitchen appliances were top of the line. Bathrooms were nice and clean. Hot tub was lovely while watching the stunning sunsets on the front porch. The house is very private with no view of any neighbors which was exactly what we were looking for. Would love to stay again! Only complaint was that the upstairs bedroom only had lamps and no overhead light so it was very dark at night but everything else was fantastic!

Very relaxing environment, house was very accommodating!

The cabin has good bones but is missing some basic features for a premium rental.There are screens missing in one of the bedrooms and the upstairs bathroom, the towels are tattered and none of them match, there were only two hand towels, and there’s no hanging bar in the downstairs bedroom closet. When we arrived there about 5:00 pm there had been no house keeping service. Jim responded quickly and the housekeeping was performed by about 7:00 pm. He did make a financial adjustment but it is very disappointing to drive all day and then need to vacate while cleaning was done. Supplies were a bit disappointing also as there was no bathroom bar soap provided also we had to get dishwashing detergent delivered. Several lights were missing bulbs. From a purely personal perspective, I appreciate the fact that the owner wants to share extensive memorabilia from around the world. However, when renting a place I feel uncomfortable when inundated with so much personal stuff. We had a nice stay and really enjoyed the remarkable sunsets.

My family of 3 plus our daughters friend stayed for a week and already can’t wait to go back! We had the best time and it truly is a perfect getaway. The cabin is gorgeous and clean and the views are phenomenal. We loved the property and will definitely be staying again.

Beautiful location. We enjoyed hiking up to the top of the mountain above the cabin. Amazing view, very peaceful.

We enjoyed our stay at this two-bedroom property very much. The appliances in the kitchen were in perfect order and we used the chairs, table, and grill on the deck a few times for drinks or cookouts. The beds were comfortable and the sound system superb. We moved some of the many knick-knacks to make room for our own stuff and had ample space afterwards. The house even has some Purple Lizard maps to help plan hikes!

Absolutely perfect. Watched the all star game, hiked and hottubbed. Very private. Great access to Dolly Sods. Timberline Lakes were an added bonus.

Everything was setup great, loved the deck and hot tub setup. It worked great for our group for hanging out even when it rained. We never even turned the TV on. Great location in Timberline, only required a short drive up to the top for parking area of dolly sods. Def an area where you want to make sure you have everything you need as there's nothing close-by besides the drive to Davis. Jim was very attentive to messages, would definitely stay here again.
