It was so loud and kids in the lobby getting coffee in middle of night, could hear everything in our room including people in the pool. Had a guy beating on our door at 2am looking for someone else. Had to get a drink at desk and their bottles of soda are $4 each and flat, no vending machine. Was not impressed at all, will definitely go elsewhere next time.

Loved it

The stay was fine. Main reason for picking this hotel was that it had a restaurant in the building. The food was delicious but our waiter was terrible. I watched him talk with people at another table for about 10 minutes taking his cell phone our several times to show something to the people at the table. Meanwhile someone else refilled our drinks for us. Also had too wave him down after getting to go boxes to get the check to pay for the meal.

Second best hotel in area

This hotel is dated, and smells old. The lobby is hot, as are the hallways. The carpets have not been cleaned in a while. I stepped into the shower then back out into the room to get shampoo. When I stepped back in the shower I had muddy foot prints. Half the rooms face the pool. All the pool noise is made louder by the shape of the roof. The pool rules state the pool is for registered guests only, but there was a pool party for 30+ local kids. They were being dropped off by their parents. The breakfast is powdered eggs, sausage links, cold biscuits and gravy. There is cut fruit if you get there early, like at 6am. Same goes for milk for cereal and juice. There is plenty of bland coffee. You may not leave the breakfast area with any food. The binder in the rooms are out of date. The onsite eatery is Mexican, not a grill and seafood place. The elevators are well used and one has no display for the floor numbers. There was some sort of car meet up in the parking lot that had nothing to do with the hotel, but took up most of the parking spaces. Alton has had better days, and so has this hotel.

We had to go back to check in because bed in room they assigned us was unmade and there was a used towel on the bathroom sink. Pool was closed because “under maintenance.” Room needed deep clean. Heat coming through our closed window on 80• day was crazy hot. Would not recommend Mexican restaurant on site. Hot breakfast was good. Shower was good. Floor was clean. Bed was very comfortable.

Hotel is becoming run down, and staff were not very friendly, with the exception of the person who checked us in

It was ok. The pictures make it look really clean and nice but its not. The elevator had pieces of wallpaper coming off, chunks missing & some held up with tape. The temp in the room was hard to get right. It was either to hot or muggy. The pool was broken during our entire 4 day stay.

Sometimes at night, drag racing was taking place outside on the street. Certainly not the hotel's fault, but made sleeping comfortably a challenge.

Nice and good food

My room had a very strong marijuana smell. You could smell one we got off the elevators and the smell was worse in the room. The Staff was nice and did offer to switch rooms. The breakfast staff were were very friendly and working so hard to feed the crowds. They could use more support.

Not a good first impression, when busy the hotel is very loud and the breakfast staff is ill equipped. The hotel seemed newer, but the room seemed old and beat up. The carpet was lumpy, the lights didn't all work, and the "ADA" adjustable showerhead had seen better days. There were two elevators, but only one seemed functional, that's disconcerting when my wife can't do stairs at all. The breakfast wasn't on par to other Best Western hotels that we stayed at, but when not busy at least, had eggs potatoes, sausage, bacon, biscuits and gravy, and fruit.

Front desk staff was very nice, hotel is nice with a few noted cleanliness issues around the pool and shower. There is also a very nice Mexican restaurant inside the hotel,which is nice.

I enjoyed my stay at Best Western for Christmas!!

We requested a nonsmoking room and our room smelled like cigarette smoke. We were able to move to another room, but it was on the ground floor, next to the atrium. There are large glass windows that take up the whole wall. The noise is nonstop from the pool and people in the atrium. There was a group of people sitting right next to our room and the curtains didn’t shut all the way, so they could look into our room all night. The bathtub faucet and drain were both broken. The toilet seat was broken. The bathroom was dirty with stains on the doors that looked they have never been wiped down. The majority of the outlets in the room did not work and some had tape over them. Overall a disappointing stay.

Nice place. Good restaurant but indoor pool was way to cool

This trip was so the kids could swim in the pool, and it was FREEZING!! The kids swam for an hour before their lips were blue. It was about 20 degrees outside so maybe that’s why it was so cold, but the temperature in the pool room was even cold and I was wearing 2 long sleeve shirts. Breakfast was fine, but there were a lot of issues with running low on different things. The staff were very nice. Probably will never stay again since we choose hotels based on the pool for our kids.

The place was clean and the staff was very nice , but the rooms could use some updating.

Many areas are recently remodeled so the overall experience was good. Very plush bed.

One of the best places I’ve stayed for a long time. Love that they have an insight restaurant and they had the best breakfast buffet. Loved the pancake maker!

We have been staying here on and off for 8 years when we visit family, it has been going down hill the last 3 years. I will not blame them for the temperature in the hotel, it was -5 outside but the lobby was fringed . the front desk person had to ware an outdoor jacket and we sat at breakfast with jackets on. Break fast was altered, we could order food, which we did but it was ice cold so I was pointed to a microwave. The room itself had issues with the heat/AC it was not fully connected to the wall so it was blowing both hot and cold air was coming in from the outside. Last there as no mention the pool was closed when we made the reservation. AND when I go there i asked and the front desk person said it was open. Went to the room changed and took my grandson down only to see a sign that said it was closed for maintenance.

No complaints stayed 4 nights room was always clean, breakfast was great, easy access to everything

The room had mold in the bathroom and the room smelled of chloride as if it had been poured into the bathtub. The "continental breakfast" was horrible. The scrambled eggs were the same style powedered eggs as the Army DFAC. The pastries all had flies all over them and a majority of the "hot" food was ice cold.

Staff was not friendly, and bathrooms were not very clean.
