The room was good overall, but the bed was very uncomfortable. My wife and I had trouble sleeping all night and have sore backs. Also, we stayed on the second floor and an elevator would’ve made it easier to bring in luggage.

We had a great stay, when I first booked the room I thought it would be with in walking distance to Main Street but there isn’t actually a sidewalk towards that area. Nonetheless the drive was only about five minutes and very easy to get back and fourth. Most of the rooms have a balcony so that was great to get some fresh air. The guy that checked us in was very friendly. For solo travelers, the room was very secure and had an extra door chain for safety ☺️. Over all I would definitely recommend this place.

The hot free breakfast was less than desirable. Items were not restocked and very disappointed based on the price of the hotel and other hotels offerings.

We were on the fence about booking a themed suite but are glad we did. The in room whirlpool tub and amazing walk in jetted shower were great amenities. The bed was comfortable and it was so relaxing to have a fireplace as well.

The pictures looked better than visiting in person. They need to put some work into this place. The lobby front desk area smelled like body order and had a must. We got to our room with a Hot tub and it smelled like mildew. Damp air… There was a big spider in the hot tub. I get that can happen but the big cobweb, full of dust, was in the ceiling corner for a while. I woke up and had trouble breathing which is not ordinary. I stayed outside for most of the morning because of it. They really need dehumidifiers in that building and rooms, especially with the hottubs. They’re surrounded by carpet and I’m guessing there is mold underneath the carpet because of it. I definitely wouldn’t stay here again and I really hope you take this review seriously and check into that room. It NEEDS dehumidifiers running in the place. Also, the chain was broken off the door so there wasn’t extra door security.

Front desk was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was really good and plenty of food. Unfortunately, the neighboring room was noisy and kept us awake most of the night. The cleaning staff left an old coffee filter in the coffee machine in our room, but otherwise the room was very clean.

Room was nice, spacious and clean. Our room had a mattress that sagged a bit in the middle and wasn’t very comfortable. However, the room was clean, liked the balcony, and continental breakfast was descent.

Needs some updating.. paint , trim was chipped, some rotting wood.. entry doors needed cleaning Galena is an upscale nice little tourist town, it should be a bit nicer! Breakfast could have a few more options with that said it was ok!
Our room had some garbage behind the sofa! Which we pulled out to plug in devices!!

This was the worst experience. We paid a lot of money for a room that smelled like mildew and mold. The lobby smelled horrible, there was water damage everywhere. The air conditioning unit was so loud I couldn’t sleep. The bed was gross and made me feel all itchy after sleeping in it. The smell in the room was nauseating. The pool was disgusting. Expedia shouldn’t even have this place listed on their site. We spent way too much money for what we experienced. Absolutely horrible.

The young man at the front desk was great! He was very friendly, funny, and accommodating. He offered me Best Western rewards which I have not been offered before; he also asked if everything was going okay when we passed through the lobby. The pool was nice (the indoor/outdoor passing was fun for us), the breakfast was plentiful,and the honeymoon suite was quite cozy! The two queen room my family was in was a good size and very cozy as well! Nice hotel in a cute little town!

Been staying here for over a decade. By far the best hotel option in Elgin for whatever my needs are. Hubby and I don't bother looking at other places.

I had booked 2 rooms, 1 for our adult children and 1 for my husband and me, and both had the cabin-theme. We truly enjoyed our time, we had a little balcony. Sumit checked us in, and he was very friendly and helpful.
We will definitely stay there again when we travel to Galena!

The room smelled terrible. There was a potato chip in the blanket when we arrived and a brown streak on another blanket. Towels were dingy. Shower curtain moldy at the bottom. Dusty webs on the ceiling. Flickering lights in the bathroom. Dirty and dusty indoor/outdoor furniture. Not enough hot food at breakfast for all hotel guests. Pool and hot tub area dark and depressing. Yellow ring around hot tub. Dirty, weed-filled parking lot strewn with litter. Reasonably friendly staff. View from balcony would’ve been nice if grounds weren’t littered with pop cans and cigarette butts.

Property is dated, and in need of updating. Room was dirty. Bed uncomfortable. Had a spider and 2 other unknown bugs in our room, one of which was in the bed. Air comditioner on 62 the whole time, and room still not cool. Half of the lights in the room didn't work. Balcony has a constant water drip from above, not usuable. Breakfast not great. For over $200 per night, I'd rather pitch a tent in the woods! Never again.

Stayed in a themed room. The steam shower was either too much pressure or not enough. A black toilet was a little freaky. It was nice and quiet and clean

I was pleasantly surprised with the size of the room I received. I booked a 2 queen with a pull-out couch for 3 people and thought the room would feel cramped. The exact opposite was what I received. The room was very spacious and the pull out was a full couch, not just a love seat. The room also had a balcony where I sat and watched 2 bunnies hopping around in the forested area behind the hotel. Very peaceful! The room was clean and the shower was very nice, until I looked up and saw some mildew on the ceiling. Not much, but it's worth mentioning that the cleaning crew might want to look up in the bathroom prior to finishing their cleaning of any room.
