The service is consistently excellent at this location. The rooms are comfortable and we really appreciate the kitchen amenities. There was one small issue with the toilet, running intermittently. I did not report it until check out.

we chose sonesta because it advertises as an extended stay but there was no dishes no silverware no utensils no glasses other than 2 wine glasses. coffee machine did not work. kitchen area was dated and unclean. All that said the staff was excellent and the breakfast staff was beyond excellent could not get any better polite and helpful in all ways. was a pleasure to see them in the morning

This was my second stay at this hotel. It is not new or fancy, but it is very clean, the staff are very helpful, and the location cannot be beat. The breakfast is very good, the rooms are large, the beds are excellent. Absolutely recommend!

Service was great. However there was trash underneath our bed. A few stains on carpet. Overall great people just expected bit more for 400$ a night.

Not clean. Carpet was stained and there was a little mold in the bathroom. Bed had crater in center so rolled into the middle of the bed. Staff in breakfast room very friendly and helpful.

Without notice staff entered our suite. We knew because we heard staff in the hall mention our room. I asked them what was going on and they said they were replacing pullout mattresses. I went and told the desk that I didn’t want staff to go in. Our items were all over the suite. Her blunt response was “not an option”. I said it was intrusive and repeated no one should enter. She half laughed and said “Not a choice”. I repeated my issue to the manager at checkout. She said that she had been off but that we “should have got a notice” and there “should have been a sign on the desk”. She looked around the desk and could not find one. She offered a half apology and said she was going to be talking to her staff.

It was OKK. Don’t know why people rated it so highly. Doors into hotel were wide open. No body wash. No sheets for pull out couch which was also crazy uncomfortable.

Spacious, comfortable room. Clean and well chlorinated outdoor pool with towels. Had badminton and basketball court on site (and cornhole equipment). Unique and quality items on breakfast bar. Friendly and customer service oriented staff. Small workout room however had free weights, treadmills and filtered water. Certainly will stay here again.

I was pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to a 2 bedroom suite. Unfortunately, the bathroom was dirty. There was hair on bathtub and on vanity . Worse part was that there was dried urine on the bottom of the toilet. I was there only one night. Breakfast was nice . Would not stay there again.

We had a good experience. 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms were great for 3 adults. Room was clean, beds were comfortable. We had plenty of towels. The swimming pool was nice and towels were provided in the pool area. Breakfast was sufficient. The only issue was a slight odor in the room. It wasn't so bad that we felt like we needed to ask for a new room. I suspect it might have been from a pet previously in the room. They are a pet friendly hotel. I did mention it at check out so that they could try to get rid of the smell for future guests. In spite of that, I would stay again. It's in a great location and central to what we wanted to do.

Its was olay. We were never alerted that they were going to be cleaning the carpets. Kind of bug us that they went in our room and moved things off of the floor. A little warning would have been nice. We could have picked up ourselves.

I recently stayed at Sonesta ES Suites Charlottesville and had an exceptional experience. The bed was extremely comfortable, giving me the best night's sleep I've had in ages. The room's facilities were outstanding, making it feel like my own private flat with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The location is perfect, just a short distance from Barracks Road Shopping Center, making it convenient for shopping and dining. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for its comfort, amenities, and prime location.

I had a view of a wall. The room was very dark and dim and needs updating. The whole hotel smells of their cleaner, which is quite strong and makes it difficult to eat breakfast. Breakfast food was pretty bad.

One of our guests arrive late but information desk treated him like a trash. First of all, the guy infront told him we are not booked there and that they are fully booked and shoo him away.

The toilet didn't work - the valve inside the toilet was worn out, there was rust on the toilet flush bar and the toilet didn't seal after a flush so it ran all night unless we turned off the water. When we opened the sofa there was a dirty cloth inside it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The grounds were very well maintained and the hotel was clean and well maintained. They were even doing some renovations of some rooms, but noise and inconveniences were minimized. The property oozes of a management team that takes pride in a well presented property. Our only two small downsides that kept us from five star ratings was minimal change up of breakfast options each day (noticeable since we stayed multiple nights) and an odor in our room that required we purchase an air freshener. The hotel itself smelled great but our room smelled of possibly fish being cooked on the stove top prior to our arrival.
We will be back in Charlottesville and plan all future stays at Sonesta Suites. Thanks for a pleasant 10 night stay!

Stain on carpet that appeared to be blood. Dark hallways, loudest DW on the planet, reddest front desk host window opened to a wall of the building. Bedding sheets were wrinkled and it was obvious someone had slept there. Looks like they just changed the pillowcases. Even had a shoe mark on sheet

Nice place generally to stay. Walls are thin I was next to a loud family in a different room. They simply wouldn’t quiet down so the nice staff moved my room to another room on the property which was quiet.

I enjoyed my stay the staff were very friendly and check in/check out was quick and easy. It is very close to UVA so I'd recommend staying here if you want to visit the school. It was fairly close to downtown and there are a couple of shopping centers nearby. The wifi was not good and those who had trash but did not want their rooms clean would put the trash outside the door however housekeeping would never take the trash so it would be sitting for days.
