Soundproof is terrible. You hear everything from both your neighbors and the hallway. Ventilation was poor and there was no AC. The shower floods the whole bathroom.
Breakfast and reception service was pretty nice.

Great check-in and very friendly receptionist. Room very worn and dated, Aircon limited functionality leaving room very hot.

Quality Strand hotel Gjøvik has one big challenge.
Inside the bathroom its not enough light above the mirrors. This cause big problems when saving and other doings. The positiv experience was the big exercise room and nearby parking with roof.

Room fronting the main road missing small minibar/refrigerator compared to other room in same type. Horrible service that no cleaning or even simple make up of room is offered, yet asked for that in the reception early morning for that day.

Pretty good hotel. Strange with a separate toilet and shower. Very few electrical sockets and placed at strange locations. Breakfast decent, but not great. Would probably not stay again.

Standard was way lower than expected. The bathroom was very old and not cleaned well enough - closing in on nasty to be honest. The hand soap was empty. The curtains were dirty. The fridge was removed from the desk.
Only positives to make are that the reception and breakfast staff was polite and helpful, the breakfast was good and the gym was well equipped for being a hotel gym.

The hotel was very clean , friendly staff. The restaurant on roof was convenient and had a nice view over the city and lake. The food was delicious ate there 2 times. Location of hotel has easy access to walk around city

Veldig koselig hotell. Veldig god frokost meg stor utvalg. 40 minutter fra Lillehammer. Parkering foran hotellet er veldig dyrt men det finnes parkering på 150 meter avstand som koster 42 kr per døgn.

If you are a family do not go to this hotel because the family rooms are very bad special the bathroom they are so small. The extra sofa-bed is really poor to sleep on if you are adult. The receptionist we had was not very friendly, it seem that when you book a standard room that is not good enough for her.
The children can't use the swimming-pool before after 8pm because the service alcohol at the swimming- pool so this hotel do not really want family to stay.

they made a easter surprise by leaving some chocolates for me when i checked in the room.

We had a Room in the old part off the hotel next to the main road. Much noice from the road, cars mikes etc. Noice from the other guest in the corridors, poorly isolated. Feeezing room, heating did not work. Has never slept so bad in a long while. Pity.

Ok hotel with cinema in the building but unfortunately for me my reasons for booking were out of order. Kind of ruins it for me.. also, I was hungry but the food was no where the standard one would expect for the price..!?
Hotel ok but service/staff hopeless as all too often in smaller towns.. seems they don’t want the customer to have a nice stay possibly even resent them being there, so why work in such a hotel..!?

Strand Hotel is quite new and you can tell as soon as you enter the reception. The rooms are of high quality and comfort, with a great view of the city. Having tried different hotels in this city, Strand Hotel is by far the best.

The spa is very good but you need to pay extra 115NOK to get an access. The hotels lobby and other common areas are excellent. However, the rooms are old, bad insulation (too much noise from the main street) and bad lighting in the rooms.

The toilet was dirty and in the first day was no toilet brush in the toilet.
Even after two times that they did my room, the toilet was still dirty.
Other than, everything is great in this hotel. I particularly enjoy the breakfasts and beds.

Pleasant hotel near where the stream enters the lake. Easy check-in/check out experience. Clean, but not special room. Good breakfast with a wide selection of vegetables, eggs, meats and cheeses.
