Beautiful experience!

Such a great team running the hotel. Comfortable if a little dated and scruffy around the edges. However it was clean, quiet and the food at breakfast was great. The staff can’t do enough for you, and overall it’s a definite stay again when I’m back in the area.

Very nice hotel and very close to the downtown area. Hotel parking is very limited and outside not cheap. However during night parking is free. Only point was for us, because we had our dog with us, we had to take a junior suite. Normal room was not possible.

It is a nice comfortable hotel with good sized rooms. In places some refurbishment is required, for example in the bathroom. Bed comfortable and air con a bonus. Good to have drinks in room and coffee machine but nothing without caffeine. Breakfast ok but bit limited on choice. Peaceful part of town and nice for morning walks

This was a great place to stay and explore Alkmaar. The room was clean, bright and large enough for comfort. The hotel was within walking distance of the centrum.

Pleasant overnight stay for a family event. The room was clean, warm and well presented. Staff attentive and friendly. Convenient walking distance from the railway station and close to town. Breakfast was a self service buffet which was very nice. Would be very happy to stay here again.

My wife and I stayed here for 9 nights. They charged us for breakfast twice when we did not eat breakfast a single time there. No apologies for the over charge, still waiting for the refund. We didn’t get a thank you for staying with us, they didn’t ask how our stay was. It was very transactional with them. Not to mention how uncomfortable the beds and pillows were. I saw a sign stating we could ask for a different type of pillow which we did, only to receive the same pillow that looked to belong on a couch rather than a bed. Would not recommend this hotel.

Excellent location - just a short and pleasant walk (5 minutes) over the canal and you are in old town Alkmaar. Very close to the church in the centre of Alkmaar. Excellent daily breakfast with good coffee and a variety of food options to start your day. Excellent basic rooms that have all you need, and are clean. Breakfast staff were somewhat rude one day (apparently there is a discrepancy between the breakfast hours online and the actual breakfast hours) but other staff were warm and friendly. Saffa, the night-time front desk clerk, was extremely helpful on two occasions. Upon checking in later on our first night, we discovered we’d been given the wrong room. The hotel was fully booked, so no changes could be made. As a result, one of us had to sleep on the floor in a makeshift bed created out of comforters and sheets. The next morning, as compensation for this error, we were offered a free bike rental for the day, which we did not think was adequate. Overall, we would recommend Amrath Hotel in Alkmaar as there are not many places to stay, and this one is functional with a great location.

Located in a close proximity to the train station and the old town/ cheese market. Hotel is lacking in character, but quite satisfactory and convenient. Good value.

Excellent in every way, from location to service

Hotel ok, but a bit outdated. Room was big, bathroom ok. Small fridge and kettle for coffeee and tea. It was a bit cold. Thumbs up for the personnel that was super friendly and ready to assist for everything.

We were pleasantly surprised at the size of the room, it was very big. We loved the jacuzzi bath. Staff behind the desk were very helpful and friendly as were housekeeping. The location was ideal and quite beautiful with only a short walk into town. We would definitely like to return here again.

Nice stay, clean and situated very central. Too bad that the hotel does not tell you about the parking facilities very near for only €3 per day in stead of €16 to €24 at the hotel or in front of the hotel. Due to Covid-19 the breakfast time is full quite quickly, but there are many breakfast restaurants real close by (and cheaper). Or you can order room service and that is a large breakfast (almost too much) but again for that kind of money you can have brrakfast in the town center. Very nice stay!!

We found a great hotel room waiting for us in Alkmaar, with a fantastic view over the old town and a balcony to enjoy it. The hotel is a bit older, however, well-kept and looked after. Our room, for example, came with a nice seating area as well as outdoor furniture on the balcony.
