Breakfast was the best thing about our stay. The rooms are basic but clean and fairly comfortable. No air conditioning and they have locks on the window allowing you to open it about 5 inches. Parking is very tight and limited (about 10 parking spaces). Staff were amazing, friendly and helpful. I would stay there again but not in the summer. Amazing breakfast, part continental with fresh pastries and fruit. Cooked to order hot food was great. The bar has good beer selection and mixed drinks. Dinner was very good.

Management extremely poor as is training in appropriate customer service. Very disrespectful and unable to listen and act on valid customer feedback. Concerns raised included: unclear fire safety signage and notices. Bedrooms are in need of full refurbishment although delightful, friendly housekeeping staff do an excellent job in keeping them as clean as possible.

Rooms clean and functional, although I could have done with a suitcase stand as there wasn’t a surface to be put my case on. Food - excellent, staff - efficient and friendly.

The pub is nice but hotel areas are a little tired and could do with a refresh, though, I should say, my room was clean and large. Breakfast was nice and staff excellent throughout.

Pros: location, history of building, comfort of bed. Impressive water pressure for 2nd floor. Nice tea setup with biscuits. Great blackout curtains: I didn’t even realize there were streetlights outside my window until I opened the curtains at night. Neutral: Has a physical key, not a keycard, which makes no difference to me. Window opens a little and you can request a fan. Cons: not very clean-looking. Carpet clearly needs to be deep cleaned or replaced. Bathroom looks like it was renovated in the last 5 years, but they ran out of money before they could finish the floor. (Found a couple stray hairs that suggested they also could do a better job cleaning in general…) For me, the location and the charm of the building outweighed the cons. The location really can’t be beat. It’s right in the center of the city so you can walk anywhere. It’s on the high street so it is practically next door to several coffee shops and eateries. One building away from the cathedral, one street away from the Ely Museum, a 5-minute walk from Oliver Cromwell’s house, which is both a museum and the visitor’s center. As for the building, it comes up in any mention of the history of Ely, it looks exactly like a classic pub on the outside, and the inside of the building has a lot of character. So for me, it all balanced out.

enjoyed our stay,was just dissapointed the superior bedroom i booked wasnt the same as in the picture when we arrived,was expecting a nice 4 post bed.

Hotel is right next to the cathedral, parking on a one way street that you have to go round the block to get to. The room was nice. The pub was full of beer flies and the risotto I was served was raw (picture attached). They didn't charge me for it, but I would rather have had a cooked meal! Breakfast was nice.

I was very happy here and felt well looked after. The food in the dining room was excellent and very good value. And the location of the hotel, right next to the Cathedral, could not have been better. The only things I didn't like were that Saturday night was so much more expensive than Sunday night (so I didn't stay on Saturday), and that you had to pay extra if you wanted the option of free cancellation (which is not a common practice, so I booked on Expedia instead, which didn't have that rule, but which made it very difficult to get in touch with the Lamb).

A warm welcome, which continued throughout the stay. Very accommodating staff - heartily recommend here as a place to stay.

Nice old hotel in the centre of the town. Cathedral was literally a minutes walk away. Oliver Cromwell house probably five minutes walk. Several pubs and restaurants very close by. Shops are all around you. Staff were helpful and friendly. Food was great and always came out hot. Beers were well kept with plenty of choice. Parking in courtyard was free. Overall an excellent stay.

Excellent service

Great location for access to town/ cathedral , Oliver Cromwell house. (But also close to main roads). Our room was dated Split Wc / bathroom and tired. But main bar / restaurant area welcoming and great atmosphere. Breakfast fab.

One night stay. Our room was very neat and clean. Secondary glazing kept out the traffic noise but the heat in. We found the staff friendly and professional. The place was really busy with a good atmosphere. The pub food was good too.

loved our stay...central for all the bars and restaurants, huge room with the kingsize bed was worth the little extra for the room..as it had a sofa and plenty of space.. the hotel is much larger than the picture suggests .. nice cooked breakfast... all in all very enjoyable stay.

Great location! Easy walk from the train station. Convenient to Ely Cathedral and wonderful cafes and shops. Staff were all super nice and helpful.

Ideally located and great atmosphere in bar. Breakfast was fab and staff freindly and helpful Room was a little tired but was ok for the money. (Shortbread biscuits lovely).

Short stay over to enjoy the fireworks, have a couple of drinks and not worry about driving home. Great room, comfortable bed, would definitely use again

We travelled from Glasgow for a family funeral and The Lamb offered so many positive features. A kind and attentive staff, a lovely breakfast and the general ambience of the hotel made our stay comfortable and memorable.

Lovely hotel, really friendly and helpful staff. Shower was awkwardly positioned which made it difficult to use without getting water on the bathroom floor but a minor frustration in a generally wonderful visit

Convenient location for visiting Ely . Bathroom very tired . Bed not so comfortable . On site parking very limited and full so had to drive round and round in the dark to find parking . Very expensive for basic clean room . Staff very friendly and helpful .

Very central and a little noisy from passing traffic but very convenient to visit the splendid Cathedral in Ely.

Lovely old coaching inn very close to Ely cathedral and main shopping street, all well within walking distance. Green King know how to run a hotel! Very friendly staff & good meals without excessive prices.

It was such a pleasure to stay at the lamb. The general manager and the whole team are amazing and really go out of their way to make your stay memorable.
