Attention to detail was good but at time food service was slow.

My husband and I stayed at the Edgewater for our honeymoon. It was my first time in Rarotonga and my husband's 3rd. We absolutely loved our room, loved the gardens the birds, the chickens the cats the sound of the sea... Our room had a walk in shower which was perfect with reasonable pressure. The only thing that we didn't like was the price of the restaurant food and lack of cheap lunch options, and communication issues at times as we tried to alert staff of our neighbours smoking in their room which leaked into our room and it wasn't really understood well we had to follow up. Also there was a electricity outage scheduled overnight but we were told very last minute. I need electricity for medical reasons it took quite a few enquiries before they gave us another room for the night so I would be ok. However they were gracious and kind, talked politely and were friendly. Loved the chickens running around it boosted my soul and the dogs too absolutely fantastic atmosphere. Though it rained most of our stay we loved our time there and we want to thank you.

Spacious and good value. Less windy on this side. Roosters annoyingly crow between midnight and 6am :-( Spaghetti House at the entrance is great.

The Roosters were a struggle to deal with TBH. Perhaps a cull required? It IS a big deal to lose sleep. Staff lovely and helpful. Rooms a bit tired

Although well advertised some drinks were not available at happy hour, a couple of waiting staff were a little off hand but overall it was a very pleasant stay in very nice surroundings

The food was excellent, the cultural show was great, the waiters were not attentive , we had to find them and ask to order our food but the food was excellent. I guess that is where tipping would give them incentive to try harder.They really don’t expect tipping there.

I loved our stay here. The bed was good, the shower was great. The rooms we stayed in the 900 building could use some updating with the tile and the general appearance. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Parking was a little hard to find at times near the rooms. I wasn’t a fan of the tropical breakfast, I needed some protein so we usually got a hand pie somewhere else after we ate the tropical breakfast.i did order an omelet the first morning but it was a La carte and the onions weren’t cooked through. The property is a nice property with great views and a good beach area. The one activity we did was fun, sarong tying. Lots of chickens running around that’ll wake you up but this could happen at many properties on Rarotonga.

We stayed at the Edgewater in August 2024 as a family with two kids aged 4 and 6. The resort was everything we needed and was close to the airport. The staff were fabulous and welcoming and made our stay super enjoyable. While the resort is a bit dated it met our needs perfectly. Breakfast was nice, great snorkelling right off the beach, cool activities for adults and kids.

If you need a room at a convenient location, this is a pretty good fit. Good snorkeling right in front of the hotel, it is close to an even better snorkeling spot (Aroa beach), and also close to the airport without it being noisy. If you enjoy scuba, a dive shop is within walking distance, it only takes them 10 minutes to drive you to the harbor, and you'll reach your dive site after a 5 minute boat ride. Great views of whales right from the hotel room too. Finally, the restaurant has good vegetarian food. My only critique is that finding potable water is an inconvenience. Sure, you can buy bottled water at the restaurant, but there has to be a better way than single-use plastics. Anyway, this is a difficult problem to solve in such a remote area, and I am sure they will eventually get there.

We loved our stay and it was so great for the kids. The kids club staff, Mary in particur was amazing, the guy running the activities but was awesome, our room was always cleaned and reset very well. The snorkeling facilities was a highlight.

The Edgewater has stepped up with the pool and outdoor area Rooms have been upgraded The Spaghetti house was extremely impressive Both food and service were exceptional

Needs some clean up

Spent 7 days at the Edgewater, staff were lovely, place needs a bit of a revamp in dining room, mouldy dusting orchids got rid of. Food was great. Lovely to sit outside day & night. We had a lovely time in Raro.

The chickens running around all over the property mostly in the food area is disgusting, people are not wearing shoes and walking through the chicken poop and spreading it everywhere, The chickens jump on the tables and chase each other and scream at each other, was not hygenic or relaxing.

We absolutely loved our holiday in rarotonga the Edgewater was great had everything we needed great food, happy hr was great was so nice goin back to the room and housekeeping had been in everyday

The location is great... but the price is too much! Stinky old towels,theres no mirror in the room apart ftom the toilet,no bench for tge luggage and the wardrobe is dirty,tge brooms and rugs are being kept there.Even just free water in the nothing,wifi that i bought didnt work,it prompt me thats its being used already.lucky I had a good time with friends .

Well kept facilities and friendly staff around the restaurant and activities areas. But not a welcoming introduction when arriving and lack of information did not help. Also when the room was not topped up with milk in the fridge after requesting for reception to deliver it to the room they expected me to go there and collect it myself. After asking why this had occurred the mentioned that the cleaning staff may have forgotten it, not good enough as an apology would have been better.

Some of the property favilities are fetting a bit tired since wd came 8 yers ago but the people and service made up for this but please do something about the 2am 3am 4am wake up calls from the cockralls

The beach is close and always something on during the night. It does get a bit loud and the roosters wake you every morning around 0400 and don’t stop

great resort. rooms may be abit tired, but perfectly adequate and comfortable. Housekeeping was great. Food and drinks were very good too. The staff are extremely helpful and happy.great all round facilities from swim equipment to sports gear

We wanted a three bedroomed property, and Edgewater had that at half the price of the Rarotongan, plus it had alot better reviews. The house itself was large, clean, had two bathrooms, its own section, a washing machine & washing line, although it was very shaded by the trees. I asked twice to have quiet as possible accommodation and had no communication , but this was located on the roadside and was very noisy most of the night with passing traffic going to and from the airport, also there was a bar diagonally across the road from it which had loud music until quite late some nights. Our breakfast was included, but we only went there once, then ate out. They had bulk made, muffins which they obviously thawed as they needed them, a couple of cereals, yogurt, something else which i presume was supposed to be bircher muesli, but looked like coconut cream or yogurt with a handful of rolled oats thrown in it. I asked about barista made coffee and was told it cost extra - the fact that i heard the grinder grinding continuously and no coffees coming out, i wouldn't buy one anyway, as i am a barista of 15 years experience and know that within seconds of coffee being ground it dries out and is no good. The outside seating area is lovely, as is the newly renovated pool, although it was very cold - the sea was warmer. All in all, if you want a budget holiday and are not concerned with a nice breakfast, this might suit you (although our 3 bedroomed house cost us nearly $600 a night!
