Highly recommend this hotel, great location close to the city. Fantastic outdoor space for both cocktails and breakfast which is well served, although if you appreciate a full continental breakfast, they need to improve their hot dishes especially the eggs. Nice interior design, bathrooms could be further improved. Nevertheless I would return here at any given moment.

Wonderful stay, rooms, and staff.

We stayed at the I Portici Hotel in August 2024 and had a wonderful experience. We stayed in a superior room (116) and the room was lovely and had all the amenities required including a large bed. The staff are excellent and helpful with the restaurant and bar team being absolutely amazing, very accommodating and friendly. The food is excellent and all cooked fresh, (Michelin Rosette 2024) but is similar in price to many other restaurants in the location. The hotel is around 5 mins from the main train station and 8/9 minute walk to the centre of town. We have had four very relaxing nights here and we would not hesitate in recommending this hotel to friends and family who were thinking of visiting Bologna.

Booked a family room. It was clean. The air conditioning wasn’t working properly had to ask a number of times for someone to come to look, only to be it was working. The system clearly isn’t good enough to cope with the august heat. Our room was noisy. When we booked we asked for parking only to be told on arrive the parking was full and we had to park around the corner for a high rate. Very disappointing service.

This hotel is a GEM. It was supposed to be only a hotel conveniently located but it turned out to be one of the most special evenings of my entire trip. DO NOT MISS the Osteria, the atmosphere is amazing, and the pizza! Staff top notch!

Very small window (very high located and very small, cannot really open this so you can’t call it a window). I wish there was a warning when booking the room because the general pictures of the hotel is that it’s bright and open, etc. But that is the opposite of our room. It was tiny and no window basically. There’s construction outside so it was weird not knowing whether where we can park and if we can get parking. I texted their number but did not get a reply. Bed is comfortable but aircon is centralized (noisy and cannot adjust the temperature) so it was hard for me to sleep I feel very hot in the room. Overall okay, but I will maybe use other hotels if I’m back in Bologna.

Overall a good stay. A bit chaotic to get our stored bags, but was merely a delay. Very modern hotel, friendly and staff. Room was very nice, midern design, but available space to place toiletries in bathroom is limited.

Property was absolutely beautiful The town outside was a little less desirable but it was close to the station. Very safe in the hotel and if you walk up the street by a minute or two it’s really nice

Property is in an excellent location if you’re planning to walk around Bologna. It’s clean and decorated nicely, room is a little tight. Staff could be a tad friendlier. We arrived early b/c we were driving from Venice, we weren’t expecting our room to be ready. We just wanted to park at the hotel and leave our luggage. They looked shocked and borderline insulted that we arrived early. The receptionist practically barked, “the room isn’t ready yet, you’re too early!” We reassured her we weren’t expecting it to be ready, only wanted to leave our things and explore the city. Overall place was nice, it fulfilled its purpose as a quick stop on our Italian road trip.

There was a water leak outside our room (the water actually came into our room) which had happened in the past (see the mold on the baseboard). This seemed liked no big deal to them as they would not move us. The parking lot was a fair distance to the front desk. Every time you want to get your car in or out, you have to double park the car, walk inside and tell them to open the gate. They should have a text system. The rooms were fine (except the mold). There is a Michelin restaurant at the hotel which was quite good.

We booked a suite for our family and loved it. It was modern and clean and had a balcony. The amenities were top-notch and so was the service. The breakfast was the best we’ve had in multiple trips to Europe. We would definitely book this again on a return trip to Bologna.

Great option near train station, but can just enhance bathroom as the shower is open and gets the entire room wet, making it slippery and dangerous. Other than that, fabulous!

Asked for a quiet room and they put us at the back in basement-like room. Room was nice and the bed was great. However, we got woken up and kept awake as there was a lot of activity and noise outside the room in the corridor. Seems to be night staff moving items around. Very annoying! Told the receptionist at checkout but got no response whatsoever which was also not a great experience.

very comfortable if slightky small room at the back looking over a park, so very quiet. Nice staff, pleasant bar (and they gave a voucher for a free drink, which was nice).

The hotel pictures make this hotel seem luxury. The rooms are tiny and noisy. The park next door is unkempt-not like photos. The website over-promises the facility. When we cancelled and left they tried to charge me for 3 extra nights - when I showed them the expedia agreement they backed down. They charged one night - fine. They tried to charge $257 for that night when the going rate was $83. When I protested they cut it to $155.

Hotel should say where car park is located, not easy to find. Also, while trying to enter the hotel, my wife was set upon by three women who tried to steal from her. A very traumatic experience which didn't seem to surprise the hotel staff. Location was great and staff were very efficient, however, our stay was disappointing.

Expedia promised us a beverage credit which we did not receive. Otherwise, the room was spartan but very clean and comfortable. Room was a bit noisy from the street and a club. Breakfast was good but they were very slow to replenish items ( took 25 minutes for more eggs to come out) and so we ordered from the menu the second day, which cost more on top of the breakfast. The bulk of the breakfast buffet was good, overall. I think because we splurged on this property, we just expected more and we did not get it, in general.
