Stayed here before so we hopefully knew what to expect.
Lovely room with a great comfy bed and facilities, shower and en-suite all working well and very clean.
Short walk into town, bar and restaurant are excellent, will be back next year.

The Mouse Trap Inn is very quaint and we had an enjoyable 1night stay here. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was delicious. The rooms are small but in keeping with the nature of the town and age of the building. We recommend this as a delightful place to stay.

Absolutely lovely place! The staff were so kind and the rooms were perfect for us. Limited parking on site but street parking nearby. The pub was fabulous. Best hotel in the Cotswolds! We would stay here again for sure.

Nice stay, staff extremely friendly, very convenient location- close to everything you’d want to visit in Bourton On The Water- Hawkstone a 25 minute walk. Only criticism is that breakfast let it down, slow service, dirty napkin and overdone toast & muffin. Limited car park spaces- top tip arrive early.

The Mousetrap Inn is located on the main road into Bourton - walking distance into the village which is positive. Checking in via the bar staff was perfect and the staff were very helpful. The car park however was very small so not ideal. Our room was small but clean and tidy but unfortunately looked out onto the very small car park which had a mobile refrigeratiion unit which was on 24/7. We thought the room was overpriced but due to it being summer and Bourton being a tourist attraction, the room rate was priced accordingly .... I guess. We had dinner in the evening, however due to the fact it was a Sunday we had to leave the restaurant/bar at 8.30 and go somewhere else to finish off our evening. The bar/restaurant staff were very helpful and sympathised with us. It seems strange that the rooms are dealt with separately from the Inn itself. Anyway, we enjoyed our stay but felt the room rate was expensive for what we actually received.

Picturesque, limited menu. Bar closes to early for residents and not consistently, as goes for the rest of the village plus staff can be quite rude and none attentive.

Never had hot food at breakfast. Most of the food was luke warm at best. Some item were stone cold. Only once were we given toast even after we asked for this included item. It really was poor stay.

If you want delicious food in the evening and a bed for the night in a pretty village, then you won’t be disappointed. Staff were friendly too. However the room was tiny and very dated and the en suite was not much more than a cupboard, soundproofing is very poor. Breakfast was a little bit Fawlty Towers, I was told a flat white wasn’t a problem but was given a cup of black coffee,Asking for hot milk seemed to be disconcerting. Toast was forgotten, there was no salt, pepper or jams and marmalades on the table and there were apologies for the lack of yoghurt for my muesli, which was very basic and dry. The general sense is that this pub is a good restaurant, very Farrow and Ball and stripped pine downstairs but no effort upstairs. Parking was limited to one tight space because there is building work and a temporary kitchen, which has used up the remainder. This is our second time here, the last time was before Covid. This time we were here to visit Sezincote (wow) Food in the evening has been consistently good but breakfast a definite deterioration.

The Mousetrap was a short walk from the Centre of Bourton-on-the-Water, so very conveniently situated.
When I stayed it had no parking facilities, perhaps because work was being carried out on part of the building, I'm not sure. We parked in the Royal British Legion car park, which was a 5 minute walk away.
The room and bathroom were, in my opinion, tired, and needed sprucing up. Paint was peeling off in the bathroom and the electric shower only worked if you kept your finger on the 'start' button. The basin didn't drain properly.
On the plus side, the staff were very helpful and the room clean and comfortable.

Internet was poor. Room very small and in need of refurbishment.
Breakfast was cold and over cooked.

The room we were allocated was in the annex and was nothing like the room advertised. Very tired, awful bathroom as in poor shower and very small. Decor was very tired and carpet old. The place looked a tip and for the money paid was definitely not worth it.

didn't get to sample the food due to a fire in the kitchen some weeks before , staff and everything else was fine.

Very friendly helpful service. Comfortable bedrooms with a fan already provided for our hot weather stay.Very clean with plenty of towels, shampoo etc. No tea/coffee facilities in the rooms, although the very pleasant lady in reception/bar offered tea and coffee while the bar was open. She wasn’t there in the morning however and unfortunately a fire a few weeks earlier meant the kitchen was out of action so we had to walk to a different location for breakfast, where there was only one chef on duty. Service was very slow, although we did get tea and coffee quite quickly. The poached eggs in the eggs royale were hard, not the fault of the Mousetrap, so a bit disappointing. When the Mousetrap’s kitchen is up and running v again we would happily stay again.

Shortly before our stay, we received a notice from Mousetrap saying that their kitchen had caught fire and that they would not be able to have guests. This was out of their control and we understand.
However, we still haven’t received a refund for what we paid and Expedia is telling us Mousetrap is declining to issue the refund for the stay that we weren’t able to take because of their fire.

The hotel needed updating but the host was fantastic and very welcoming and was always on hand to help . I would go back again because of host and accessibility to bourton

Awesome time there! Curtis and Alex were the best! Tight fit, but clean and all necessary items were there. We had one issue with hot water. Breakfast was great every morning and ended with Great drinks at night. Will definitely stay there again.

It was a lovely and friendly place and only a short walk to Bourton on the water.
I would definitely stay there again.

The car parking was poor and cramped. The alternative parking is too far away when raining. Our 'superior' room was above the kitchen and very noisy when the kitchen was operating - from 7 a.m. The window let in a howling draught. The bar area is too small. The meals were very good, especially breakfast, but the dining area is not sufficiently spacious and tends to be noisy. The beers were nothing special. The Mousetrap is, however, close enough to the centre of the village and there is a pleasant walk along the river by the old mill if you walk away from the village and take the 'Windrush Way', which is signposted. All things considered, I would say it did not represent good value for the money. Better to stay at a Premier Inn and travel in daily to visit the village. The village is very popular with tourists though, so parking might be a problem. Try Burford instead!

Room was small but clean, it needed some renovation in the en suite. The shower closet was very small and cramped. Disappointed that we were unable to book a table to dine with them as they were fully booked all week..

Second time staying & we really love it here. The staff are so hardworking but so nice & amendable. The pub restaurant is so lovely with real charm it has a small menu for dinner but the food is very good! Breakfast was delicious. Close to centre of the most gorgeous village. Bedroom quite small but has everything you need. Good hospitality tray too. Only negatives are very small towels (could do with proper bath sheets) & slow running water from the shower Parking can be an issue as not many spaces but we were lucky and got the last one. Had the Sunday lunch which was incredible. It’s really doggy friendly which is a bonus. Already booked for next year! Thanks Randal, Amara and all the staff.

Perfect location. Great bar staff. Parking limited and tight small spaces. Rooms ok but mouse size. Decor in bedrooms needs refreshing. A good stay but perhaps a little overpriced. Breakfast was good. Road noise despite village location but not all windows shut fully so this didn't help.

Very basic room, the photos are perhaps a little deceiving the bed was uncomfortable and the tv didn’t work, it’s such a shame as the pub looks beautiful and the communication was great before hand.

My partner and I had a lovely stay at The Mousetrap Inn. The room was comfortable and cozy. All staff was friendly and accommodating. Vegan breakfast was not an option on the menu but it wasn't a problem and we managed to create 'our own' from the items on the menu. We had an evening drink only once at the bar and didn't manage to have an evening meal as we didn't book a table in advance and it gets very busy.
