It’s a lovely palace but the bathroom toilet was not working properly. The first night we woke up to a pool of cold water. The hot water was minimal. You had to rush showering before the water went on the colder side. The bathroom was not well kept. We had requested a heater as the room was very cold. The area the hotel is in is dreadful.

Had a great stay at this beautiful palace. Staff were excellent and really helped us get our lost luggage back. The manager could not have helped more. It is also in a great location but some TIL Tula do not know where it is so just get another one.
Recommend Hussain as you driver. I was expecting a delivery but was out with him and he arranged to get it sent to where we were. He knows everything and everyone. Trust him.

Poor experience since this property is very old, do not go with very high expectations. Basic room, with very inferior amenities. Do not provide bottle water as complementary as other hotels do. Room charges are very high as per the condition of hotel. They also do not have room service available. Talking about the near by area, so this hotel is situated in Bissau village. All roads stays jam packed near this hotel. You wont feel comfortable going out in night even in cab because of the village area. In hotel restaurant - food tastes good but might be possible you will be eating alone because there were only few foreigner guests in the hotel even in peek season time. They charge more than double the price of Water bottle inside hotel.

This old palace is restaured and looks good, but it feels so eerie. There weren't a lot of guests, staff looked amateur and the location is a mixed blessing - actually close to the old Town but the streets around it are trashy (literally speaking - trash on the road where pigs and stray dogs go to find something to eat - I would recommend taking an Ola ride instead of walking). Compared to all the other places I booked for the same price, it delivered a low value.

The palace is an old gem, very rustic and ramshackle. Unfortunately some elements of the room dont work as expected. Our TV didnt work, the floor was dirty and some of the room fittings were a little old and ready to be upgraded. However, the dining and common areas are fantastic with a nice pool. The location is close to one of the city gates which is great and we found a fantastic sweet shop and mughal restaurant. You have to remember where you are when walking the streets as you get a view of real India, rubbish on the streets and bustling life going on around you - some might find it too real. However with an open mind and adventure it is a slice of amazing India.

Good historic hotel in a restored heritage mansion. Good food. The area around is a bit busy and not touristy.

Theres a lovely old majesty about it. Romantic in a way that the Holiday Inn will never manage.

Our first room had NO running water - First Management sent someone to fix it. He left saying it was now working. I stepped into the shower to be covered by a stream of dark brown water and then no water at all. The management then offered us the use of another bathroom which was along an external walkway from our room. When we declined this offer we were given another room which was fine except it opened onto the reception area with seats right outside our door. People sat there drinking and making a considerable noise until 1.00am and at 5.00am another large group were up preparing for departure - so we had very little sleep. After all this we were still charged for a superior room.

The room was very uncomfortable at night in April, as we only a wall unit for AC. If you don't mind the heat, then you'll find it interesting and worth it for one night.

It's a very dated hotel. Need to get a Reno done. Cleanliness needs to be looked at, particularly in the kitchen and bathrooms. The staff are friendly and try the best to help make your stay pleasant. Access to the hotel is poor.

The hotel has a charm all of its own that is hard to put into words. However, what can easily be said is that we would not liked to have missed it on our tour through India. The staff are all friendly and the wait staff super efficient. The area around the hotel is a little quieter but a very short walk soon gets you back in the hustle and bustle. If you are looking for a cosmopolitan hotel this is not for you.

The hotel itself looks cool, bit run down, have a feeling like Best exotic Marigold Hotel, the room was clean, but no wifi at all, wich is a huge problem for travellers like us, who's booking the trip max a week ahead. The website said inroom wifi. Well, nothing inroom, even the lobby area had a bad connection ( one email/hour speed), and when we mentioned to the staff they missinformed us on the website, the reaction was, I should write an email to expedia about that!!!! The only problem: I need WIFI to write to expedia!!!!!! No inroom safe, and you can lock the door with a huge padlock!!! That's it!! We booked our stay for 3 nights, but we moved out after one night. You can find way much better places in Jaipur.

Over the top decorations, stuffed tigers, mirrors, Victorian furniture, are just some of the items in the lobby. Staff are efficient if not a little dry. wi fi is yet to reach the entire hotel but slow and patchy in the lobby. The hotel is in a good location just past a halal butcher outside the city gates. You can walk to the city palace but Watch for touts. Who will ask you to see the roof of the Krishna temple or have tea after a long welcome chat. Be wary but open.

Very atmospheric place to stay. It is very central but still is a bit further away from the crowded and noise street so in the palace it is silent and peaceful. This is a former palace of a maharaja.

We stayed at the Bissau for four nights in October 2014, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our room was delightful, secluded with a verandah, and wonderfully decorated. The hotel's breakfast room, dining room, library and coffee alcoves are all photogenic, and the grounds are pretty. The meals were tasty. The promised Wifi was weak and restricted to the hotel lobby, it proved difficult to cool our room and the room service was a little slow to clean up plates afterwards, but these were minor irritations in an otherwise very good stay.

We immediately liked the place, which reminded me of some of the Central Asian hotels I've stayed in. It has beautifully decorated walls and a nice garden. Our room was like something from the Arabian Nights. We highly recommend it to anyone who visits Jaipur.

Arrived during a powercut and wondered why we'd paid so much for a dingy place. Got back later when the lights were on and only then began to appreciate the good stuff. Bar / lounge complete with stuffed tiger heads, portraits of Indian royalty, bizarre 3-way seat, etc alone made it worth staying. Room was, again, characterful. It was clean but a bit of attention to detail missing (nowhere to hang stuff, slightly leaky ceiling, hotel towels drying out on the seats outside, etc). Don't stay here if you're looking for sth modern and efficient. Do stay here if you want a unique and memorable experience.
