I liked the size of the room and the location of the hotel. It's just off the main drag so it only takes minutes to get there. The only drawback is that there is no view of the lake but the St. Ignace boardwalk is awesome and so that was a nice way to get a view of the lake. The breakfast offerings were a little sparse in terms of healthy alternatives but the staff was very nice and tried hard to please. It was clear there had been some updates to the bathroom since we had stayed there the previous year and the updates were a good improvement.

This property looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in years. Every time we walked into the room it smelled musty. We had to sleep with the windows open just to try to keep the musty smell down. The carpet felt damp, even with the AC on full blast and without us using the pool. The only nice thing about this place was that the hot tub miraculously worked. We spent as little time in here as possible.

Great bed. Needed updating and minor touchups. Toilet seat needed to be replaced. Rug interfered with the closing of the door. Shower bar is going to fall down soon - loose in the wall.

Lobby closes at 10pm and door is locked from internal and external, no night clerk on duty, leaving guest to themselves. Leak from ceiling from 2nd floor whirlpool tub at 11pm, call number left on door, no maintenance or person on call, told me to wait till morning and no one showed, front desk was always empty with nobody behind desk, it’s like no one worked there

The brakfast selection was good/average. I had called prior to our stay and had talked to a man who couldn't seem to get off the phone fast enough. Not to mention the MOLD behind our door at the floor and around the caulk of the jacuzzi tub! Also, there was a large wet spot on the floor between the bathroom and the vanity when we walked in. Rough condition and, if thats black mold we saw, unsafe!

I read all the bad reviews on this property and booked anyway because it was a quick stop and we wanted the best rate. The check-in attendant wasn't overly friendly or chatty - as others have said - but wasn't rude. I didn't read the sheet i signed - I understand it was a no refund policy. Whatever. I'd let the CC company go after them. I was confused by the pictures as it seems like some rooms have been updated. Ours was not. We were on the first floor in one of the 5-ish rooms that are inside the pool area. There were no kids so this area was quiet during our stay. The room was super basic. I've read complaints about the "two sheets and a blanket" situation on the bed but I MUCH prefer this to a bedspread of questionable cleanliness. I've read about the room having a "smell" upon entry. I attribute this to the AC not being turned on. Once we turned this on, and it kept the room very comfortable, there was no smell. The furniture is old and worn - whatever. The room had a working mini-fridge and microwave which was awesome. Ice was available. Shower was hot with good pressure. The people next to us had a dog who barked at male voices and I thought dogs weren't allowed but we weren't in the mood to make a fuss. The dog didn't bark at night. We left before the 7AM lobby open time so we did not experience the "free breakfast". This is not a luxury hotel, or even a Hampton Inn. But it was very affordable and clean enough. I would stay again if just passing through.

The safety lock on thw door was broke. The room stunk of water damage. There were other things in the room damaged. The hotel staff wasn't at the desk when I went to complain. Wouldn't stay here if you gave me a free room.

Place is a bit run down but looks like they are working on it. Our TV didn’t work but eventually I got it to work. Beds were comfy.

It’s your standard motel. It seemed clean and the people were nice enough. Breakfast was a bit lacking but we made it work.

Room smelled heavily of cleaner and urine. Room seemed overall damp as well. No one at the desk during check out. Good location.

This place needs a complete overhaul. Furniture is broken and carpets are filthy. The people who are working the desk are rarely there, and unfortunately the breakfast was not at all like the advertisement.

The pool, hot tub and pool area was nice. Room was below average with old and beat up furnishings and less than clean. Asked employee at check in about transportation to the island (which was advertised onthe window and all I could get as a reaponse was a point in a direction and an answer of "down there". Same thing when I asked about Castle Rock.though he had no idea of what I was talking about. Ok for the price if you are just lookikg for a place to lay your head overnight

I got great sleep each night. The beds were comfortable. The room was reasonably clean, but mold in the bathroom. The bath tub faucet was very loose, but when you held it to pull the shower lever, the shower would work much better. Continental breakfast was ok.

Room was dirty (broken dry wall crumbles on the floor), wasn't vacuumed (if it was, it wasn't done well).No one was staffing the front desk for a majority of the 2 night stay. Bath towels were as thin as the cheap toilet paper and were only given a couple of them. Beds were very hard and the comforter was basically 2 sheets. Pool isn't heated either. Probably not on my list of places to stay next time we're north of the bridge. Definitely not as it's advertised in the pictures. We would have asked for a refund for the second night and found another place but we knew they wouldn't budge even if we asked.

Older hotel with limited breakfast. Room was clean but water pressure in shower was low.

The room was clean, beds were comfortable, though the room and building could use some updating and fresh paint. Also, there was a big gap on the top of the door to our room, so we could hear everything in the hallway.

Hotel is very outdated and furniture in the room is damaged. Carpet is dirty. Pool area is very nice and location is great.

Bad hotel couldn’t get ahold of anyone at front desk. Tv didn’t work and called front desk and they kept hanging up on me!

Self check-in (never experienced that before), but it was fine. Good, basic room while passing through town & not too expensive. Pool & Hot tub looked great - although we did not personally use. Great option for kids though

Room was very musty smelling. Everything in room was damp including bed linen. Mold present on base boards. Cancelled our 2nd night. No one available at front desk after we checked in and no one at front desk the next morning. Our room door had no security latch. Bathroom fixtures were old and rusty.

Great value and location! Within walking distance of quaint downtown with lots of wonderful shops and restaurants. Perfect launching spot for a full day to Mackinac Island. Nice perk to have ferry tickets at the hotel at $2 off the internet price. Grab N Go breakfast was nice. We had an issue with our showerhead leaking and the maintenance man promptly replaced it the next morning. Nightstand lights between beds flickered, but did not come on. Pool towels were thin and not much larger than a hand towel. Sign says the hotel is under new management. I hope they make some upgrades. This hotel has alot of potential!

Motel breakfast did not open on time. Bathroom door handle did not operate properly thus getting locked in the shower/tub area happened causing a panic. Also the small handle in the tub was missing thus creating a possibility for a ceiling leak in the 1st floor room and not being to get out of the tub if you took a bath.

Stayed for 3 nights and had a great time. Great location. Staff was awesome. I'll stay there again if I get back to St. Ignace for sure.

Where we had to park, in the back,there was the dumpster. It was so full trash it was overflowing therfore the animals had it all over the parking lot.
