We love the location. Quiet and in nature and yet so close to the restaurant area of Pacific Grove. Love being near the Asilomar Conference Center and able to walk their boardwalk and the ocean front trails. Everything so convenient if you love nature. The people who greeted us were wonderful and helpful. Waffles and good coffee among other things included for breakfast. delightful.

Wonderful quaint rustic place. Make no mistake the owners have everything in top shape. I especially appreciated the breakfast and most excellent coffee.

Amy at the front desk was so nice. Next time I will book directly with the hotel because they had a cheaper rate and I didn’t realize the rate was so high through hotels.com, my mistake, but Amy was so kind. She was really accommodating with providing us with a fan because there isn’t AC. We would have just kept the windows open (second story room) but our dog would have barked at every outside noise. The rooms were updated and clean. Breakfast was good. The state beach you can walk to wasn’t that great but the dog loved it. But we were headed south to warmer beach the days after our stay anyway.

Pacific Gardens Inn was lovely! We had plenty of room in the family suite, and it was nice to have the kitchenette. The make-your-own waffle breakfast was fun, and the happy hour wine was a nice touch as well. We enjoyed using the hot tub in the chilly evening. Easy walk/drive to the coastline and also easy drive to Cannery Row and downtown Monterey.

It was a relief to find a property that allowed our dog to stay! The complementary waffle bar at breakfast was a nice touch. Hotel housekeeping was wonderful. Unfortunately, we saw signs that the property is in need of pest control. In our brief stay, we saw ants in the kitchenette, a baby cockroach on my BF’s toothbrush in the bathroom, and small, black insect parts on the sheets that made me fearful of a bedbug situation. The outdated design and decor was not a problem for us, but the insect activity was.

Older, and outdated, but awesome location and woodburning fireplace in our room. I’d come back and maybe get a nicer more expensive room at pacific gardens inn.

The area is lovely, within walking distance ti the shore. It has a cottage feel. The rooms are a little worn down.

Fun place to stay, close to the ocean. Room had a fireplace. Breakfast until 10:00 is really nice.

A very warm and sweet stay!

This property is very close to the beach and only a one or two minute drive to get to a gorgeous view of the ocean. The motel room was outdated but nice. I booked through Expedia and my friend booked her second night through the motel. My booking was a little bit on the confusing side because I booked my room and my friends room through Expedia and then we decided to stay a second night so I booked my second night through Expedia separately and she booked her second night through the motel. I understood it would be confusing so I stopped by the Motel the morning of our stay to make our reservations more understandable to the staff. I spoke with a man who I believe is the owner and explained to him the way we booked our rooms and he told me two times that it would be nice to support a small business, and book through them and instead of Expedia.. I let that slide, although I found it a little bit on the offensive side that he had to say it two times instead of just mentioning it once. I took time to make it very clear to him about the reservations my friend and myself had made. Later that evening we went to check in and there was a woman working, who I believe is his wife and also the owner. She seemed drunk off her ass and couldn’t understand our reservation confusion no matter how many times we tried to explain it to her. She also mentioned no less than six times how we should support their small business instead of going through Expedia. There’s more but no room to comment.

We love Pacific Grove and It’s ocean!

The room was clean and in very good condition. The fireplace in the room was great, the provided breakfast was great, and there was a popcorn machine in the room. We did BBQ on site and enjoyed it very much.

The staff is always friendly and very helpful and accommodating. The location is very peaceful.

We just stayed here one night but it's a great experience. It was our first time to use fireplace inside the room and was awesome!

Nice area, close to beach

This property had everything you need for a stay. Full kitchen with a pop corn maker and coffee in the room. Four waffle makers for breakfast so there was no wait to get a hot waffle. It was a rainy night and the fireplace was ready to go. A great place to stay.

Nice property, very clean and quiet. The decor is older but still good enough. The staff is friendly and the breakfast is good enough to get going. A great location thru the Asilomar center to the ocean.
