Beautiful sea view and excellent service provided by the staff. Maybe the size of the room could have been bigger.

Firstly, credit where it's due- the photographer for this hotel deserves an award. This is two hotels joined together, one of which (grand hotel I) they have started to refurbish. Unsurprisingly, all the photos are from the refurbished parts, grand hotel II looks like if you walked into a best western that hadn't been updated in 40 years. When I asked the receptionist if we could move as the room was nothing like the photos, she was sympathetic (they get it a lot) but none of the 'newer' rooms have balconies and not many have sea views. They would do nothing towards a refund or gesture (the photos are so fake that there is one making the pool look as though it is directly in front of the hotel, where a pool normally is, rather than the reality of crossing a car park and road), and hotels.com did virtually nothing to help - yet they're willing to take their cut, of course. Don't expect to use the pool, people queue to put their towels down at 8.30am or whenever it opens, and then leave the loungers largely unoccupied. The area of Opatija is nice, but this hotel is nothing short of horrendous.

I have mixed feelings about this hotel. It is a historical hotel that also can accommodate conferences. The room was fine except that the desk and chair do not fit in the space allotted !? Small room does not equate to a 4 star hotel. This is a 3 star hotel. Pluses are a buffet breakfast and dinner is available. e outdoor pool is great if you get there before others do so good luck. Paid Parking?

Nice place for stay. Popular for congress tourism, located by the sea, with hotel parking.

The location was central to everything, easy to park the car and just walk around. Great ocean views too. The hotel itself needs a bit of a face lift, it seemed a bit run down and awkward to get to our room. If you cant take the stairs this is not the hotel for you. We had to climb stairs to get to the elevator and then the elevator stops in between floors so you have to go up or down to get to your room. Since having knee surgery recently this was not the best choice for us.

Good selection of food, nice lobby, near centre. Additional charge for parking was a surprise but I was notified upon arrival. Spa wasnt very impressive.

Definitely not a 4 star hotel in any respect. Room allocated was at the back of the hotel - no soundproof and the noise from the road was deplorable and resulted in getting no sleep. View from the room was of crumbling concrete falling off room facades. Food was below the standard expected of a 4 star establishment! Would not recommend and will not be returning!

Hotel Adriatic II was built in 1970-1. Architect Branko Znidarec (b. 1937) designed a stunning modern and expressive building overlooking the Adriatic sea, However the exterior is most original the original interior has ben modernized. Sad. Rooms are comfy, breakfast is generous.

Very nice indoor swimming pool with excellent amenities. Breakfast is wonderful with variety, great quality.

It would be useful to have 2 caffe bar (1 in the lobby and 1 on the terrace) simultanously.

if there is only rainig the hotel must prepare something for their guests otherwise its very sad to live there for just some hours not some days

Near city centre. A nice big hotel. No air conditioning during this time of the year for our stay. A bit noisy when opening the window. Beautiful seaview. Bed a bit sagging. Good service.

The Adriatic served our needs to have a convenient and comfortable room from which to explore Opatija.

Good location, but the staff wasnt very helpful. There is way too may stairs also to get to the elevator. The breakfast that was included was outstanding.

dinner buffet was a catastrophe. The restaurant chef knew that we were waiting but he helped the local people to be seated first. By the time we went to the buffet, no hot meats left and no replacement at all. The spaghetti Carbonara was the only dish we could grab. Breakfast was good because we went late so that the tourist groups left already.

The furniture is a little old but the hotel staff keeps it very clean. The food was good and diverse. The hotel staff seamed a little grumpy at first but still helpfull. You have to pay for water at dinner time.

Rooms are clean but tired. We had a double in the newer part facing the sea. It was a great view, but rooms are quite small and not modernly functional, ie no room for two suitcases and being able to get around the room! The shower was pretty ordinary, there is a curtin but the floor gets wet. The shower rosette was awful and the toilet seat was broken. The breakfasts were great and the location was good, not in the centre but a walkable distance. I know this sounds negative, but all in all it was reasonable for the price.
