Our experience at the Pagua Bay House was great! The grounds, cabana, restaurant, and view of the bay were amazing. We ate most of our meals on-site at the bar and grill. As others have mentioned, we really appreciated the help from Sheldon and Alicia in setting up activities and providing suggestions to explore the island! We would definitely recommend staying at Pagua Bay House on a trip to Dominica.

Property is in a very nice quiet setting with gorgeous ocean and mountain views. Rooms are very nice, private and separated from each other. There's even a/c in the rooms (not common on Dominica). On-site food is excellent and the staff are very nice and were helpful with arranging transportion. The only negative is no fault of the property, but because of the location on the island, getting around to other sites is really expensive. Taxis are as expensive as an uber/lyft across Manhattan, so prepare for taxi sticker shock. We would stay there again.

Our hosts, Rick and Alicia, went out of their way every day to make sure our needs were met. The food was all local and wonderfully prepared. Our cabana was over the top, the largest bathroom and shower area I’ve ever seen. Multiple sitting/lying options on the veranda, by the trapezoidal plunge pool overlooking the ocean, surrounded by tropical foliage. So very beautiful.

This is a beautiful property, and the staff are very friendly and attentive. It is very isolated, though, especially if you don't have a car. We arranged an all-day island tour that we thoroughly enjoyed. Our guide, Alex, was friendly and knowledgeable, and loves showing people his home.Alicia, the owner, also took us on a short ride to the Kalinago Village since she was going that way. She made it a priority to see that we had things to do while there.At the time of our visit, there was no TV available- either local or cable/satellite. That was a little disappointing, but we understand that this is partly a result of last year's hurricane. It's difficult to find things to do at night without it.The restaurant food was, to our taste, too salty but otherwise well-prepared and the quality and variety was good. The service was also excellent. Dominica is a beautiful island, and we enjoyed our time there.

Pagua Bay House was Wonderful Retreat. The resort was pristine with warm & friendly owners and staff. We were provided every morning with info about what we could see on the island and how we could achieve our goals, relaxing on the beach, tracking over mountains, swimming in waterfalls. We will be returning soon since there is so much to see and do.

The owners, Rick and Alicia, along with the GM, Sheldon, are super helpful and there to answer your every question about the island and offer helpful tips as well!

Fantastic place near the airport to unwind the first few days on the island. Wonderful meals (must try the Centipede Rum drink or the Sorrell Cosmo; good ceviche and fresh lobster). Owners and staff had great recommendations for hiking and touring. Highly recommend!

My husband and I received the best customer service we have ever experienced at any hotel or resort. The view of the bay is lovely, the food and cocktails were excellent, and I found the rooms to be large and comfortable. Because Dominica is a very small island, you would think staying at one place for your stay would be optimal. However, driving is a bit scary. I would recommend staying on the west facing portion of the island for the first part of your stay to explore and dive. Then move to Pagua Bay House and explore the east facing part of the island, relax, and get ready for the flight home. Dominica is a magical place!

Pagua Bay is a delight tasteful minimal design and warm welcoming hospitality. 4 days that stayed there went by in a flash - amazing location facing the ocean on stretch of beach with waves and constant breeze from ocean so no mosquitos !!!!! Walk along the beach to the river and its another beautiful treasure of nature - we enjoyed the restaurant and all the little details - will definitely be back

Beautiful relaxing little gem, we stayed for 3 nights and would loved to have stayed longer. We had the ocean view cabana which was lovely, with a huge bathroom and private terrace. We loved our stay and hope to be back - thank you!

We just had a great stay at Pagua Bay House. The resort is a small intimate place with only a few cabanas all with great views of the ocean. Alicia and Rick are the owners and operators Of Pagua Bay and along with their excellent staff they made us feel we were truly welcome. On a daily basis that helped us plan our excursions around the Island with great suggestions of what to see and do. This is a great spot and the Island of Dominica is a place not to be. Thanks for everything guys Patrick and Gretna

Pagua Bay is a wonderful experience. 6 beautiful cabanas spread over a wonderful setting overlooking Pagua Bay will keep you enthralled throughout your stay. The architecture is modern and understated allowing the natural beauty to take precedence. The heart of the resort is the stunning open-air restaurant/bar/pool where we spent hours lounging, eating, sunning and swimming. Did I mention the rum drinks? Plenty of freshly blended fresh rum drinks allow afternoon to blend into evening without even noticing. A few practical items: the king-bed was the most comfortable hotel bed in years; rooms have A/C but we never turned it on due to the constant cooling sea breeze and big ceiling fans; and we loved our bathroom with separate shower and tub. Also, the resort is about 15 from the airport. The people are so friendly, we were on a first-name basis right away. And Sara, the house dog is a wonderful addition to the staff! Our best day in Dominica was when Mikey took us float-tubing on the nearby Pagua river. And the sandy beach at Pagua Bay lets you play in the surf and swim in the river. Now we are leaving our hotel at the south end of the island to return to Pagua Bay for our last night in Dominica. We cant wait to get back.

The hotel was beautifully done ! The food and drink top notch but what really sets Pagua apart from most hotels would definitely be Rick and Alicia ! As owners slash hosts you couldn't ask for anything better . We really appreciated their hot tips and advice getting oriented with the island it really made our short trip amazing . We plan to come back again but stay longer ! If you're looking for that extra Sumthin Sumthin you definitely get it at Pagua! They really go above and beyond ! It's a treat! Book now ! You won't be sorry!!
