All good happy with everything

We only stayed one night and wished we had stayed longer. They were very accomodating, i had called up to confirm our booking and mentioned that we would be arriving in Longreach at 11am, without me asking they stated they would put our cabin as a priority for cleaning and attempt to have it cleaned so we can check in at 11am, but could not guarantee that this could be done. When we dropped in on our way to the stockmans hall of fame (right next door and easily within walking distance as is the Qantas museum) at 11am just to see if we could do an early check in, our cabin had indeed been cleaned to a very high standard. You can tell the cabin is old and it creaks as you walk at night but it was still in very good shape, the bed was super comfy and we had the best sleep we had had during our whole trip. Although it was just the 2 of us staying you could easily sleep 5 comfortably. There are also 3 baths at the back of the property that you can have a soak in, bubble bath supplied if you wanted too, all you need to do is ask recpetion for some towels as bore water is used for these baths, our cabin had town water. We would definitely stay again and for longer, we have also recommended it to our friends and family who holiday this way.

If you like to revisit the past with a few luxuries this is the place to do it. True blue.. loved our slab hut, sitting on the verandah where you could chat with the neighbours if you felt inclined to do so… soaking in the bath on the deck with a wine… Ron recommended some restaurants and we chose to go out for a birthday dinner at the Branch which was excellent. Special find would like to stay longer next time…

Convenient location for Qantas museum and Stockmans Hall of Fame. 2bedroom cabin was spacious. Kitchen could use some extra saucepans, a baking tray, and measuring jug etc. Only one of the three air conditioners was working.

Our cottage was comfortable and clean. Had door open to allow some fresh air in, no fly screen on door which was inconvenient.

We LOVED our stay at Saltbush - the Stables were so unique and the details were stunningly gorgeous. Ron and Wendy were impeccably helpful and friendly and made us feel very welcome. Our favourite feature of the stay was the outdoor baths which we enjoyed everyday, they are such a beautiful and interesting feature of the retreat. Location was good with Qantas Museum directly over the road. We enjoyed the walk into town along the path, too. If we find ourselves coming to Longreach again we will most definitely be staying at Saltbush again and we highly recommend to anyone for a wonderful stay!

Loved the outdoor baths and convenience to major tourist attractions. This was a fantastic space for a family, and well equipped. We loved our stay and highly recommend.

Our Saltbush one bedroom cabin had everything we needed for a great 3 day stay. The bed was very comfortable and it was wonderful having a separate living/kitchen area. Great facilities that were close to everything.

Well maintained and comfortable establishment a little out of town. The only downside was some road noise.

Room was not serviced. It’s like a caravan park. No fresh towels were provided and bins were not emptied at all. Is expensive for what you get.

Hosts very friendly and nothing too much trouble. Close to Stockman’s Hall of Fame and Qantas Founders Museum. They have a courtesy bus and will happily drop you into town or airport / railway station if you ask. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Saltbush and Longreach.

Very enjoyable 2 night stay in Cabin 10. Clean and fresh on arrival. Abundant amenities for our stay. Roomy, comfortable armchairs, great TV and WiFi reception, comfortable bed, great shower. Friendly staff. Have no hesitation in recommending and would stay there again if in Longreach.

The current managers have been upgrading the accommodation and ensuring the grounds and facilities are everything a guest would ask for. The cabin was spacious and clean with a living area, separate bedroom, bathroom and a balcony. Easy parking. The kitchen had a frig, hotplates, toaster, kettle and microwave with all cooking and eating utensils. A lovely, peaceful place to stay and close to the Stockman's Hall of Fame and the Qantas musuem and airport.

Great complex, a bit of general maintenance is needed. It was an amazing stay and we loved it to bits, will be recommending to our friends travelling that way.

This is a beautiful place to stay the rooms are comfortable and the owners are absolutely wonderful. We will definitely stay again.

Saltwater Retreat has excellent facilities and friendly staff to make our 3 day stay enjoyable we even had a surprise upgrade to a slab hut cabin. Located a short walk from the Stockman’s Hall Of Fame and the Qantas Founders Museum across the road.

Basic but comfortable accomodation. Good position. Excellent, welcoming proprietors. Could do with a touch up. Would stay again, thank you.
