love this hotel for overnight travel...shower was very weak especially in am so had to bathe

The hotel is very historic and that added to the experience. The staff was very helpful and room was super clean. There are dining options within a block and water taxi 8 minute walk. Highly Recommend.

Nice place it was clean and people are friendly. But it’s not in a great area, there is limited food available. We ended up at the restaurant in the hotel next door, overpriced and limited options. I probably would not stay there again.

Was a good option to stay to do the tours in the area. Pretty comfortable and the common areas like the pool were nice and relaxing. The room cleaning and the restaurant need more attention- breakfast was really limited and overpriced. Better to go to Martha’s for breakfast. Staff was friendly at front desk and helpful.

Great staff and the property is very clean. For people that like to get up early and walk or run it is a great location. The road right outside the property runs along the sea and is very well lit. Lots of dining options nearby.

Property and rooms is outdated, stuffy/musty old smell in the rooms. Shower got luke warm at most.

Great stay at the great house. The staff was beyond nice and helpful. Area is a little run down but the locals were super nice. Super close to the Ferry and you can walk pretty much anywhere from this location. 20 mins from airport.

Such a lovely stay in such a Historic Property. The staff were exceptional, and the property in great location with views of the sea, and within walking distance to all sights and amenities.

Lovely place by the sea and convenient for water taxis/ access to centre, but unfortunately there is significant property redevelopment occurring right in front of the hotel, causing excessive noise and blighting the views, etc. This is ongoing as of May 2024 and will likely last until at least the end of 2025. This should be mentioned on the property details. A room overlooking the rear of the property was better because of this.

Huge Radisson hotel across the street is currently being demolished for something bigger.
Our favorite restaurant thete is gone but walked a short 2 blocks down to the Secret Garden for a very affordable and excellent dinner.
Website says Free breakfast upon booking but it is not. But only $12 uSD per person for a good continental breakfast in nice restaurant on first level.

Hotel staff is friendly. Hotel is old and outdated, it smells like old, wooden floor cracks, can hear people walking by and upstairs. They're demolishing an old hotel right in front of the hotel so the loud noise starts around 7am.

I was on the 3rd floor no elevator and the steps are plenty and steep. The hotel accross is renovating so your room will be noisy w construction equipment. No restaurant .

This is a lovely, historic hotel, in the heart of Belize City, near the ferry port. I enjoyed the home-style ambience and the well appointed rooms.

Everything and everyone was excellent but we felt that the continental breakfast could be greatly improved on . The great house has a repeat customer and I'm happy to sing their praises and pass the word to all that wants a nice place to chill with wonderful staff.

This hotel is beautiful. The amenities are wonderful. The only problem is that if you can not do stairs, there is no elevator. Rooms are on the 2nd and 3rd floors.

We have been staying at The Great House since 2015 when we first visited Belize. Over the years the staff has always been welcoming, pleasant, friendly, and most accommodating. Rooms are very clean and they continue to upgrade. We look forward to returning again and again.

It was close to walk to the water taxi, we enjoyed the small breakfast in the morning. Sleeping was great very quiet area

I know why it is called the Great House now. Old classic architecture and friendly staff. Close to ferry and nearby restaurants. We were there only a night before continuing on our journey but they made us feel comfortable and arranged an excellent taxi driver who gave us a tour and lesson on Belize history on the way to the hotel.

The Inn is cute with seating areas just outside each room. Breakfast was more of a snack than a meal, but sometimes it's the thought that counts.
Unfortunately (not the property's fault) there's reomodeling of a multifloor hotel across the street so the view from the Inn was a little unappealing.
The area around the Inn felt safe, the staff and cleanliness were so wonderful, I would definitely stay again.

The Great House Inn is in a beautiful old Belize City Mansion. The rooms are large, the AC works, the staff are friendly, efficient and helpful, with good recommendations. The free bananas at the reception desk are tasty and were welcomed. The area around the Great House, is like a lot of Belize City: rundown. But there is new development in the city and investors are spending. I suspect there would be more investment in the area, if the endemic corruption of the country that so many locals reported, were lessened.

Lately, you see pictures of properties and when you get there it is decoetful. This hotel is the most clean and comfortable hotel I have stayed in, in Belize.

1926 British-era inn, ambience preserved. Spacious room, high ceiling. The Continental breakfast included fruit, cereal, cheese, and yoghurt. So although it was not a full-on hot breakfast, it was adequate. Nice staff.
