Good and cheap hotel right on the beach. Would stay again.

We stayed just a Iggy while transit to Nuwara Eliya. Room is clean, cosy and spacious room. Will definitely come back.

The hotel has wonderful staff to help you have a goof stay. The beach at the back of the hotel is very nice.

We stayed here for several nights at the beginning of our trip around Sri Lanka to give us some rest and to visit Colombo. The hotel is nice enough – a little rough around the edges but perfectly fine. A/C and fan in the room, hard but big bed, safe, huge shower with strong water pressure and an abundance of hot water. Only thing we didn’t like was that the room had no fridge – in the heat of Negombo, cold water was essential so not having a fridge meant we constantly had to buy cold water as and when we needed it. Luckily there is a small convenience store 1 min walk form the hotel that was selling basic drinks and snacks for a bargain price (1litred bottle of water cost about 25p). We had a room with a balcony which offered lovely views of the beach and sea. We went in September and the waves were way too big to go swimming in. Also, as soon as walked along the beach we were hassled by relentless hawkers. We ended up sitting in the hotel garden instead (padded sun loungers and free towels provided) – the hawkers would still call out to you but were not allowed to enter hotel grounds, so that offered some degree of peace. For ease, we ate at the hotel for dinner twice: limited menu with nothing too special on it, your standard mix of European staples (burgers and pizza) with one or two Sri Lankan meals. All very reasonably priced – a chicken pizza cost about £3 (just be wary of the bones!). There are a few restaurants within walking distance of the hotel along the main road,

The room I got initially was filthy and after complaining they offered me a sea view room witch wasn’t bad but not worth for the money they were charging. No hot water no drinking water coffee or tea. You need to go to the reception for everything. I moved to Paradise Beach hotel which is few blocks away and I was glad I did the move. Beautiful room with sea view and the price is almost the same that I paid for Hotel J. I will never stay again at Hotel J and will never recommend anyone.

It’s was an amazing stay and the staff at the hotel were welcoming.

Close to beach, sheets had stains on them and internet did not work in the rooms had to go to lobby for it to work

Nice ocean views from the room. The queen bed was just two beds pushed together. Cleanliness could have been better. Constant hawkers at the beach became pretty annoying along with the construction happening. Aside from that it’s a great location on the beach.

Hotel J was a nice place to stay for a couple of nights to get a feel for the beach town. The facilities were good and the breakfast was nice. The WiFi was not great in the room however it worked well outside near the pool. The room had a UK type power outlet which was useful for us as foreign travellers.

The room faced the beach and very accessible to the beach. Nice view. Staff were friendly. Shops and restaurants nearby and you can either walk or take the tuk tuk. Rooms were basic but comfortable

Very basic hotel, well situated on the beach and close to shops but very basic, Beds are comfortable ,pool is adequate food is very reasonable but service slow. There are few toiletries in bathroom and towels repaired well worn and grey as are sheets. Value for money would stay a night again. Staff are helpful ,

This hotel didn't meet my expectations. It was a boring experience overall, they do not have a room service and there was nothing much to do either as the beach wasn't clean, you need to go to a bit far for the swim area which is fine. Somehow this place didn't have the 'wow factor' as I was expecting. However, it has clean rooms and washrooms. Usual breakfast and good food to order. It is a fine place to stay for a night.

Lovely room, good restaurant and bar with good food and reasonably priced drinks. Nice pool and sun lounger area although the pool is quite small. Staff are super helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend this hotel for a stop over in Negombo.

This cool hotel is really well done! Clean and modern rooms, great staff, awesome restaurant and pool area! Ice cold beers and good food selection. The breakfast was great too! Comfortable rooms for a great price, highly recommend!

Staff were friendly and courteous. The room was pretty ordinary not well maintained needs a repaint and a good clean. The staff numbers are many as such get this done pretty quickly.

they could do so much more with this hotel. If they cleaned out the beach and put different out door furniture and a fresh coat of pain is all this needs. Little things as putting scotch tape down when painting might help and please re-decorate. If i can buy this hotel i would. Put lights outside by the pool have a pool bar ... and a tiki bar or something have a theme Thanks
