My husband and I were attending a conference in Buena Vista for a week and decided to stay in Salida as the prices were better. We were thrilled with this location! We loved how safe, clean, well kept it was. They pay attention to detail and take pride in the facility. The bed was comfy, the bathroom was clean, the decor was so cute. My only critique is that I’m glad we brought our own pillows as the ones in the room were a bit flimsy. Wonderful wonderful stay.

The motel is well located, although you have to drive to go in Salida downtown (4-5 minutes). It was super clean, well decorated and surrounded by moutains. It was quiet, well equiped and easy to park. We were satisfied with our choice. But nothing fancy here, it is a motel not a 5stars hotel.

This property was really cute and I loved the parking right out front of our room. I felt like it was a really good deal for the price,great location,beds were comfortable, it was quiet and very clean. If you book here just make sure your read all the information they send you. The only issue we came across was when we needed more towels and didn't realize that you can only get them at a certain time, my fault for not reading the info better! Grab and go breakfast items were minimal but worked and was appreciated. For the price this is a great place to stay and I highly recommend it!!

A very cute place today. Renovated with a modern flair, this property was very clean, safe and easy to find. Good value for your money.

Nice place however the bathroom fan needs cleaned, had an awful smell when running when light turned on. The bathroom heater wasn’t much better. I would have score it higher if it wasn’t for that awful smell.

It was a neat place to stay. It was as advertised. It was a throwback to the motels and motor inns of yesteryear. Great mom and pops inn with modern convenience’s. They come across a very strict about the property and have some interesting rules and no late check in’s after 10 but it Kees everything nice. They do need better pillows is the only thing that wasn’t up to par. Great place we would stay again.

Perfectly fine for the price. Only complaint is the blinds are very thin and don't really block sun light or head lights.

Clean and super cute place! Love the retro theme. My only problem was that an outdoor security light shined through our window. The blinds aren’t dark enough and it lit up the whole room. If this is something that bothers you, as it does me, maybe ask for a room that a light doesn’t directly hit.

Very quiet and felt safe

Enjoyable stay. The room was clean and the staff was friendly.

Cute decor, but no microwave and no bedside bedside lamp. Also no desk height table for eating or writing. Okay for one night but no longer.

Just a quick trip to Salida and our stay at American Classic Inn was great. Easy check in, clean, nice decor. We will stay again.

The only real issue was the curtains. Let in too much light. Some road noise. But good refurb of old motel.

I wasn’t sure at first, if it was going to be cheesy or rundown, but I was pleasantly surprised that everything felt new and updated and clean, yet retro!

Great rooms

It was clean, warm, and cozy. They swept the snow away from my unit in the morning. The office staff was very friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay there every time I come to Salida!

Don’t book a room there! There is a reason only 3 rooms were booked when I stayed there, poor customer service. Front desk person seemed put out that I was checking in after 7pm. Grab & go breakfast was non existent, as myself and the other guests discovered. To top things off, even though I followed check out procedures & was out of my room by 10 am, I was harassed & threatened by an employee, who said being out of the room was not enough, I needed to be off the property by 10:15! I was in the back of my truck rearranging some items before getting back on the road. The employee drove up, immediately got out of his vehicle, and started shouting demands at me to get off the property or he would charge me for an additional day. When I told him I would dispute any charge like that, he threatened to call the police, called me derogatory names several times, made slurs about my age a number of times, & did all this in front of the only 2 guests left on the property! Needless to say, I stopped what I was doing, & to avoid any further confrontation, drove off the property immediately. I tried to speak with a manager about this incident, but basically they backed their rude bully employee, saying he did nothing wrong. Furthermore, they charged me for an additional day in the room, which leads me to believe that this is a scam they run on guests to charge them for an extra nite in the room! I have initiated a dispute of those extra charges through my credit card company.

Such a beautifully redone motel! We loved the theme carried thru out the rooms and the outside. It was extremely clean too. They had a very nice grab & go breakfast that’ll get you on your way. It was one of our favorite places ever! We’ll definitely stay here anytime we’re in the area.

Owners put a lot of effort into making this place comfortable and welcoming by adding special touches!
