Great value for the price in an area that's very central to Stanford, Portola Valley, and other places. 2BR / 2BA suite was clean and worked well for a family. Other reviews said to make sure you request a room in a building far from the train tracks (anything but building A, they said) so we did and weren't bothered by the noise.
The breakfast food was hit and miss but it's free and has a number of options. Also some good places to eat in the area.
Parking was $12 per night during our stay although you can probably find street parking in the area without paying anything.
Criticisms are the free breakfast has a lot of options but it all feels like it's packaged food, and the rooms themselves don't have a lot of "personality" or "charm." Good value and perfect for a trip where we didn't spend a lot of time in the room.

This is a great place to stay if you are traveling with children of all ages. I had three teens and stayed in the two bedroom king suite and it was very comfortable. Breakfast is included in the price and there is something that everyone can enjoy.

This property was everything you could want. Clean, spacious, comfortable, up to date, well equipped, friendly, and convenient. Breakfast was excellent. The only negative was noise from the train, but it was a minor inconvenience.

I have stayed at many Residence Inns over the years, and the Palo Alto/Menlo location is by far the nicest and best Residence Inn that I have ever stayed at. I stayed there with my husband and son, and we were all very satisfied with our stay. The 2-bedroom suite that we stayed in, along with the rest of the entire property is very, very clean and welcoming. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The breakfast did not disappoint either. The food was fresh and hot, and tasted very good. The only downside to this property, is that is close to the train tracks, and the train can be heard throughout the night. However, this did not bother us. In fact, I highly recommend this hotel!

Property was well kept up. It was near train tracks,but I didn’t hear any noise,maybe because it was from Saturday to Sunday? The room was clean and bigger than expected, it came with a nice sized patio. I will be staying here again when I visit the Bay Area.

We stayed for 16 days for medical treatment at Stanford. The Residence Inn was convenient to Stanford and walkable to restaurants. Nice breakfast every morning. The facility is spotless with a nice courtyard area to sit in the sun. It was just what we needed.

Very nice hotel that’s conveniently located in the heart of Menlo Park and close to Stanford. Room was clean, but walls are very thin. I could hear our neighbors next door clearly. The train is also very loud when it passes through. I appreciated the breakfast and friendly staff.

They staff goes above and beyond to make your stay as pleasant as possible. They have added noise barrier curtains and a white noise machine to minimize noise from the nearby train. Honestly if you’re used to living in the city you won’t even notice it.
This is also the cleanest hotel I’ve ever stayed at. All surfaces and linens have been thoroughly cleaned.
It’s about a ten minute drive from Stanford Hospital. I wished I would’ve stayed here for the 3 month period post op for my heart transplant.

Clean, modern design, comfortable and safe! Staff were excellent and so kind and helpful. I was worried about the sound at night from the train nearby so I requested to be on the other side of the building and heard nothing, it was peaceful and so quiet. Morning breakfast was also a great addition. Highly recommended stay!

Only heads up: some rooms face the train tracks and trains blow their whistle when passing by. It didn’t bother me at all but you may ask for a room facing away from tracks if it may bother you.

Great location. We stayed here Christmas Eve to spend the next day with family. We were well rested, had a great breakfast that required disposable gloves and our masks. I felt safe.

Clean, convenient, safe... Staff very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast had good variety. My only complaint - no recycling receptacle in room. We shouldn't be sending plastic to a landfill.
