Check in was a breeze. The staff was extremely caring from the front desk receptionist to the restaurant staff. I had surgery, so I have no voice. Everyone was so helpful and made sure I was taken well care of. The receptionist even gave me a little handwritten note thanking me for being a nice guest. She made sure the waitress in the restaurant knew of my problem. The waitress was also very attentive and very sweet. I love this hotel

Perfectly suited to what we wanted, as we travel to photograph wildlife and are not "into" cities. The only slight issue was that, in Quebec, for political reasons (I can only assume that as every other country in the world uses common sense) signs, including road signs, are not repeated in English. If you have no knowledge of French this can be dangerous in some circumstances, and does not allow compliance with hotel regulations unless there is an English-speaking member of staff present.

The room was very clean. However, some technical issues that were raised two years ago still did not get fixed. The room was very quiet. Breakfast was very good and service was fast.
To my great pleasure I learned that there was a spa, but I was displeased to learn it was closed. (Perhaps due to the forest fires in the area).

Reception closed at 8pm, had to go to other location in Shawinigan where we were told the key was in an envelope stuck to a wall. I guess calling me to give me this info was too much work for them
