Checking in friendly and the location to town was good.. The room was very cold but heaters were provided. The bathroom no heating and the shower poor. The full English breakfast was cold.

No one was there to let us in when we arrived - in the end of a guest had to. The lobby stank of weed. The locks on one of our rooms didn't work, and the walls were paper thin - we could hear people watching TV from several rooms away.

The room was clean and comfortable, plenty of off road parking and the town only 5 minutes or so walk away. Staff very friendly, breakfast excellent!

Very hard to find no lights on the gate we drove past about three time and tried to ring

Convenient to town centre. No lights on driveway, which made entry at night difficult. A 'tired' hotel, beds were comfortable but there was mould in the shower room. Excellent breakfast, a nice dining room

A hotel and proprietor with character. The staff were very friendly, the food was terrific and the bed was comfortable. There is an air of Fawlty Towers, which is a good thing!

The bedroom was pretty dated and had too much furniture in it. On the plus side though, the bed was comfy, the shower was hot and the breakfast was excellent. Also was an easy walk into the city centre

Room and whole of the building in desperate need of updating and decorating. Sprung bed frame very noisy, no door handle on outside of door so had to let it slam to close. Very small tv, needed binoculars to see it. Mould in bathroom. Breakfast was the oy highlight.

Hotel could do with a bit of updating staff very friendly only downside bar and restaurant wasn’t open the town is only a 10 minute walk away excellent breakfast 👍

A really good place to stay. Great atmosphere with conservatory in the lobby and a spacious garden. Serve a decent breakfast. Will go there Again.

This place has no cleaner it was very dirty. Felt sick after eating breakfast

My stay was very comfortable and the hotel was very convenient for my needs. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

A distinctive old world charm. A couple of issues but easily overcome and remedied. A pleasant evening meal on our aarival day.

We all enjoyed our stay and were well looked after by Robert at the Nyton. The breakfast was great with lots of choice...not only Full English on the menu e.g Porridge and Smoked Haddock. The large garden is fabulous with lots of seating areas and trees. Location is good 10 mins walk to Ely Cathedral and the Train Station.

The hotel/ guest house is in need of refurbishment. The bathroom shower had a nasty smell, so we had to keep the door closed. In order to fill the kettle a large plastic jug is provided which hangs in the shower. Some sockets did not work. On the plus side, the breakfast was lovely, and when I asked if they had a magnifying mirror one was quickly found. Ely is lovely, and the hotel is well situated.

Didn’t actually stay although we were booked. The condition of the ‘hotel’ was such that we felt uncomfortable due to the untidiness and clutter everywhere which would make it impossible to clean to meet covid recommendations. The rooms we were offered had a distinct offensive smell. The fabric of the building was also uninviting.

Quirky and lovely little hotel in central Battle. You couldn't be more central if you tried. Room perfectly adequate and comfortable. What sets this hotel apart is the restaurant with great home-cooked food with locally sourced ingredients - great food and served by lovely people who really care about their hotel, staff and food. No need to eat anywhere else. We'll stay here again.

Character, charm and individuality (the very opposite of a bland chain hotel) with a welcoming and helpful owner. Quiet, surrounded by trees in its own large garden, and even a bird feeder—in other words, a real place. An excellent breakfast; how nice to encounter good ingredients and cooking. We are already planning a return visit.

Hotel was good, large parking area. Room clean, bit dated maybe. Having said that its an old house with lots of character. Breakfast was very good. Food excellently cooked. Young lad who was the waiter was very good, very pleasant Nothing too much trouble and his manners were impeccable. Im so sorry I don't know his name but he was the only one waiting on at breakfast.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Nyton. All the staff were very friendly and the location was excellent. We will definitely stay again.

Unfortunately I arrived to a damp and slightly dirty room at the top of the guest house. My glass by the sink had clearly not been cleaned from the last occupant which was a little concerning in a covid-world. It was lovely having an en-suite, but having to crouch down in the shower to fit wasn’t ideal. I’m by no means a tall man - it was just a very small shower! Breakfast was fantastic and the service was brilliant - it was just a shame that the room and bathroom was so small! Location was great for getting into Ely.

This hotel has great potential but in need of restoration to its original glory and an upgrade of guest facilities. The one night I needed a good sleep I, and other guests, were woken at 2:30am by a drunken guy coming back and trying to get into his room, failed and then tried mine.

The hotel was close to town and easy to find. Overall the hotel is dated and feels that way throughout. Breakfast was ok but the classical music played throughout was not to our taste. Convenient but needs some money spent on it along with some staff training.
