It was a fun and interesting experience staying at a German themed hotel. The staff was very friendly, and the pest control was too (they have a team of cats patrolling the area!)

Property was nice enough- however, I have to give an honest review. When my elderly parents and teenage son checked into their room, there were some appalling ‘personal items’ left in the top drawers of the dresser….. so- was the room really cleaned??! I was also called by the hotel manager who seemed upset and asked if we ‘left our items behind’!!! When the issue was found to be with the hotel, I got a cold swift apology- Probably won’t stay here again.

The hotel and the entire town of Helen needs a complete remodel and updating. It is far too old; lots of broken, or torn tiles, bricks, and desperately in need of fresh paint. Cute town and I'm sure it was prettier back in the 70's or 80's.

Only negative would probably be that the walls are paperthin. Night person called to complain about the noise, and I have no idea what he was talking about. Our TV was on, but not loud, and we were just conversing - but he got very rude. We did hear the noise next door at 8 AM, so I maybe understand.

The hotel staff was nice but the decor was a little outdated. I would have given 5 stars due to location and overall quality but the only feedback I could give would be to have the curtains updated to black out curtains so the neon sighs did not peep through the curtains. I woke up several times thinking it was 7am but it was 1:50am.

The riverside patio and view was really good, as was the live music at a restaurant up the river a bit. The outdoor furniture could be a bit nicer, but was comfortable enough for a couple of hours. The room was clean, but the decor is dated with dark brown being a prominent color (white bedding would make a big difference). The bathroom is small and fixtures older, but the the toilet is private. The private balcony was nice and had a screen door so we could leave the main door open and enjoy the sound of the river. Perfect location with a very short walk to the Octoberfest building, downtown shops, and recommended restaurants.

Our first time staying here and we definitely enjoyed ourselves! Loved that everything is within walking distance. The staff were very friendly and gave us great options on where to eat and do day excursions! The grounds are beautiful being on the river! We had a room with a balcony overlooking the river.

Hotel is centrally located everything was walking distance. Hotel was a bit outdated. But the location on the river can’t be beat. The room I stayed in needed a rug cleaning and the pillows were flat and hard.

The employees were very nice and helpful. Our room was comfortable and clean. We loved having a balcony on the river and enjoyed relaxing in our room, as well as how the location was so convenient. We didn't get in the car all weekend! We'll stay again. :)

When we arrived the sink was stopped up and there was a stain on sheet, so I was turned off immediately. The view from our balcony was great, very relaxing. Very pricey for the accommodations.

We were upgraded to a king and kitchenette. But the curtains kept falling down, mattress was very lumpy, pillows were flat. Toilet kept running. Black stuff came out of the bathroom faucet. We told them about the faucet and curtains. But the curtains broke again. There was a family reunion and so much smoking and loud music. I let the front desk know at 10:00 but the music continued till 11pm. It said non smoking room but all balconies have ash trays to smoke on. Very misleading. My husband gets migraines so that made it horrible. We checked out 4 days earlier. At least we got reimbursed. There should be hotel policies about noise and cut off time. We will never stay here again. Front desk was kind and helpful but that was about it. Housekeeping forgot our special request the next day we were there.

This was a great location. Walking distance to everything. Our room was fantastic, we had the corner round room just above the office, my grand daughters thought they were princesses. Very clean and the beds were SO comfortable. Plenty of parking and the pool was just the temperature. We will absolutely stay there again.

The hotel is older but the TV was new, the beds were comfy, the bathroom vanity was nice and new. Shower had good pressure and temp. The hotel is an older hotel so keep that in mind when you book. We were in a room that was in the tower and the room was great and they had little rockers outside but unfortunately the heat from the AC units kept the porch/patio area HOT! Bedding was great. Breakfast wasn't super filling but it took the edge off first thing in the am. Breakfast is frozen items that you can microwave in the lobby or in your room. They had an assortment of sausage biscuit, breakfast burrito, grits, oatmeal and cheese stick. It is VERY hard to get yoru water bottle refilled at the hotel as their are no refills stations, so be prepared for that. Overall great stay and great price. Very close and central to all of helen.

Perfect location to everything in Helen! Walked to all the restaurants and shops during our stay. Our family loved having balcony overlooking the river and being able to hang out at the river whenever we wanted! We enjoyed tubing on the river with the Cool River tubing also. Great stay and will definitely be back again!

The room wasn’t the cleanest. The refrigerator had moldy water standing in it, the shower was dirty, the bed had hair on it & the spread was dirty. I don’t think I would stay there again
