Very attentive and courteous host and staff.

It is a beautiful property and the room had a lovely balcones. The breakfasts were plentiful and great. The only problem was that WiFi was dicey: a different server/pw on the balcones than in the room, and the wifi in the room only worked on my iPad, not my iPhone (the phone worked using mobile data)

If you’re looking for a safe quiet, family home in a quaint part of the city, look no further. Maria del Alma Guest house is tranquil. Enough privacy between guests when sitting outside the rooms but also a bit of a community vibe, especially with breakfast time when you meet the other travelers. Fernando or his brother will greet you any time of day or night upon your arrival. The breakfast was hearty to be completely honest. The coffee leaves a lot to be desired. I guess I’m a coffee snob. there’s green grass, songbirds, and flowers in the courtyard of the house. The house is decorated and arranged in a theme to be like Frida Kahlo‘s house, which is only three minutes walk. The centre of Coyoacan is about five minutes walk and it’s bustling at times. Many food options and drinking options. Entertainment in the Square at night. It’s a short walk to San Angel. I booked on Expedia with a nonrefundable reservation, which I never do. However, I was not disappointed. Maria del Alma House is the perfect spot in Coyoacán.

It's where you want to stay in Coyoacan - the location is perfect for all the things you would want to do in the neighborhood, but on a quiet street. The daily breakfasts, private balconies, and the incredible hosts were all worth coming back for.

The place is located within walking distance of all the attractions that the neighborhood of Coyoacan is known for. Fernando made sure that we felt welcomed throughout our stay in his beautiful home. He is a great host. Besides the breakfast was delicious! I would definitely recommend this place.

The bed-and-breakfast was a perfect home away from home. Walking distance to the center of Coyoacán. A wonderful homemade breakfast every morning. Very friendly and caring staff. I would definitely stay here my next visit to Mexico city/Coyoacan area!

Absolutely loved our stay at Maria del Alma hotel. It's in the heart of the Coyoacan District in Mexico City, within walking distance of the main square, restaurants, cafes, shops, MUSEUMS, and old fashion mercados. You wouldn't imagine Coyoacan is inside an enormous metropolis, it feels like a small town filled with beautiful old homes, huges trees and clean and orderly streets. The hotel itself has a beautiful garden and is an old and very well kept home from the 1930's. It has everything that you need and expect in a good hotel. The owner, Fernando takes care of you and gives you good advice on the local places to visit. Fernando is a retired accountant, restaurant owner and a very good chef. He prepares delicious breakfasts which he personally serves to his guests. He speaks perfect English and Spanish and I suspect even more languages. His hotel is like an oasis inside a colonial town inside a huge and marvelous city. Definitely worth the stay.

Fernando, the host, is very fluent in English that there is no problem communicating with the host even if you cannot speak Spanish at all! All the staffs are very kind and nice. The room is very neat and clean, also big enough. Their dining room and garden are wonderful. Very delicious breakfast(especially mexican style main dish and the butter!) also. It`s 10 minute walk from the main square of Coyoacan. Nearby lots of delicious Taco restaurants and great mexican restaurants such as La Bipo are located.

A charming B&B, colorfully painted and very comfortable. In a quiet safe neighborhood near Frida Kahlo museum and shops and restaurants. Can easily walk to whatever you need. Very friendly caretaker who does his best to make you comfortable.

An oasis of tranquility and peace in the middle of Coyacan district. It's a private villa with four rooms for guests. The villa itself is 92 years old, but fully revamped to accommodate modern travellers. Fernando, the owner lives at the villa and he made our stay exceptional: he extended a traditional Mexican hospitality over and above. Bravo!

The breakfast, cooked by Fernando, one of the personable owners, was delicious. The sumptuous repast included fresh fruit, honeydew juice, warm crusty rolls with a marvelous homemade fig jam, as well as a tasty Mexican egg dish. My only regret is that I stayed one night. The next time I visit Mexico City, this unique oasis will be my base of operations. Within walking distance of the Frida Kahlo house and many fine restaurants. Highly recommended for the discerning traveler.

Lovely place great garden absolutely first rate breakfast. Staff is so helpful and hospitable. A home away from home.

The hosts were lovely- Fernando waited up for me as I was coming in on a late flight. He brought me a midnight snack and Fernando and George cooked a fantastic breakfast with great coffee. Both were friendly and kind, and the bed was comfy. The shower head was a bit old and needed to be replaced, and the toilet didn't quite flush properly but it is an old house, and the kind service and flexibility made up for the basics needing some attention. The neighborhood is great and all fun touristy stuff in walking distance.

We loved staying here!! Well appointed rooms, well maintained and a beautiful place to stay. The gardens were very nice, the owner was more than helpful - always available and great to talk to! Our room was large with a spacious private outdoor space. The area is perfect for walking and felt very safe. Coyoacan feels like its own small town with plazas filled with locals day and night. Great restaurants too. Uber rides are quick, easy and inexpensive from here. The metro is a 10 minute walk. Very close to Viveros park that has a running/walking track through the gardens. Only 2 blocks from Frida Kahlo's house.
