Great staff and beautiful hotel!

Amazing room, bathroom and pool.

The quietness and being right in the middle of everything but not by all the busy parts. A short walk or bike ride, and you're within great dining options and shopping. I would highly recommend if you want to enjoy Hermosa Beach but don't want to necessarily stay in Hermosa, this is the place to stay

Fantastic experience all around at The Shade - travel to LA frequently & have stayed at numerous hotels - this hotel exceeds expectations - have booked upcoming trip there in Nov.

Beautiful by the Marina and close to the beach.

The staff really care about making your stay comfortable and pleasant. The beds are comfortable, and the food is delicious. I would come back and stay here again. I stayed in a king suite with a lovely view of the pier.

The front desk staff were awesome! They were very nice an welcoming, they gave my dog a goodie bag, I got a free glass of champagne! The room was amazing with a tub on the balcony which was a great surprise!

The hotel is a nice boutique space. The rooms are nice but aging. The hotel is on a dock, you are on the water but you will be looking at boats not waves. The restaurant and bar are nice. The food is a bit pricey and well prepared.

The view by the pool was amazing.

Always a wonderful place to stay bathtub on the balcony beautiful view of the marina. The pull up top is just amazing or are they called the Spa?

The pictures look a lot better than the room irl. Our room looks old and dated. $45 valet parking a night is stiff - plus tips when you get the car in and out can add up. No self parking option.

We attended a family function nearby and The Shade was a recommendation. We booked it and decided on our trip down to book a 2nd room for our older daughters to have more space. Well, that reservation did not get to the hotel despite us having a reservation number. In any event the woman at the front desk made some adjustments and got our 2nd room sorted out. About 20 min in she offered us a glass of sparkling wine since it was taking so long. We gladly accepted. The entire process of checking in took about 30minutes. Hubby not happy. It was strange how long it was taking. The couple before us had about a 10+ minute check in and my husband asked the valet if this is normal to take so long & they said yes. Final note re: front desk. When we checked out, I mentioned the time it took to check in, she muttered something about their computer system. Attitude was not appreciated considering how much we just spent there. We did enjoy our rooms and loved the outdoor bar restaurant and the servers. Just wish it had stayed open passed 10pm. Lots of people but still closed at 10pm. Recommendation would be to tell people especially those with kids that screaming, playing & yelling while running down the corridor at 7am is not very neighborly. It echos so it would be nice to make it a quiet zone from 10pm to 9am. Beware to future travelers that the parking is $45 a night and they tack on another fee at check in of $34.95 Amenity Inclusion Chg.

This is a nice and swanky hotel. We had an outside balcony tub. Was great after a night on the town.

Restaurant…..food was okay….service was great throughout the entire property

At this price point, I expected more. The hotel room was a king with couch, marine view, and it was small, dingy, and didn’t smell great. The construction was bad enough that we could hear the room above us; running kids, moving around late into the night. The bed was comfortable enough and the towels and shower were nice, but this room and hotel were way overpriced. Additionally, the fridge left food warm and valet was the only option and it was $45/night. When I let them know the issues (and the positives) at check out, they apologized but offered no concession, not even “oh let us get your parking or nightly resort charges for the inconvenience.” It would have made a big difference and left the impression that they actually care.

It was amazing the front desk was best

By far the best hotel I've ever had. Shantee and her staff were remarkable. We are Orthdox Jewish and were there for Passover, and they were so respectful of all our needs and knowledgeble of what accomodations we needed as well. If you are considering hotels to stay...book this one!

Don’t book partial marina view unless you want view of parking lot. See photo. You need to be on balcony and turn head to see anything. Disappointing.

We had a great stay. The staff was helpful and very nice. Our view was amazing. The bed was super comfortable. We really enjoyed the complimentary bikes. Great location!

The property and room were fantastic. Very spacious and clean room. However a phone cord absolutely disappeared after housekeeping came.

It's a beautiful hotel. Paying $45 a night to park seemed a bit high. But I would still go back to stay there again. The glass of wine they greet you with at check in is a really nice touch!

Amazing location, comfortable bed, appreciative upgrade!

Shade Hotel was fantastic! They clearly care about providing a wonderful stay for travelers. We LOVED the location and the rooftop hot tub. We were highly impressed and thankful for the sparkling bubbles and chilled glasses in our room upon our arrival. We had a lovely stay and would recommend it for sure!

Valet people were very rude. Charger in the room did not work.

Great location!

The location is wonderful but I would have liked more accessibility to beach/sand. About 20min walk in either direction has that. Otherwise, our room had a lovely view of the marina, sunset and sweet seals, loved hearing them bark. Sadly, a walk on the beach resulted in oil on shoes and feet, but the hotel provided cleaning wipes for feet. A tub on the outdoor balcony was divine! Wonderful service and setting. One other note, there isn’t a pool on the roof, but a very large jacuzzi.

Great location and all staff were very friendly. Gave my friend a lovely upgrade for his birthday to the executive sweet, food from their restaurant was quality. Will stay again next time in Redondo.
