Had an issue with a credit card account that I closed and my deposit was paid with that card so it could not be presented at check in. They made a big deal but they were paid 6 months before check in and we had the emails. I understand protocol but I had proof of payment. This put a bad taste in my mouth. People were playing corn hole outside my door way past 10pm and it was pretty annoying and nobody said anything about it. Pool area should randomly be cleaned because people can be pigs and there was food and trash on the ground.

Would have been a better rating but we mentionned twice that our daugther that was sleeping on the sofa got bitten multiple time. The cleanness of the sofa bed was also hawfull, the sheet were stained. Cleaning staff was also not friendly and very rude so we stopped asking for it. End result we had to leave our clothes and luggages outside and wash it very hot. Staff said twice dont worry the manager will call you and obviously no calls. Very disapointed in terms of experience.

Great place to stay. Short drive to the boardwalk. Short walk to the beach. Really great place to stay. Pool was great.

When your only choice is independent hotels this is a nice place to stay. Parking spots are extremely tight and difficult to get in and out of car. Place is clean and serves it's purpose with easy access to the beach.

Excellent front desk staff! Very friendly housekeeping too! Rooms are a little dated but relatively clean. Location to beach was good. Lots of dining options to drive to, some close enough to walk. I would recommend!

Nice retro look nice pool

This property was very nice! It exceeded our expectations! The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The beach was a short walk. We were very impressed with the area and with the beach! We will definitely return! I would recommend this property!

Great time staying at the hotel. From the cleanliness to the walkable distance to the beach and restaurants, grills to cook on- we enjoyed our time. Good luck parking your car and getting out of your vehicle in the very tight parking spaces on their lot.

I liked pretty much everything about the place except the fact the coffee pot didn’t come with coffee and they said I’d have to go but my own grounds which was strange and weirdly inconvenient not even that infuriating

Me and my family enjoyed the Shalimar , it was easy check in and out. The room was very nice and the view was great , the walk to the beach was easy. Everyone was nice that worked at the property. I like the pool , very clean , also had a diving board which people really seemed to enjoy. The mini golf was cute , the "game room" was ok not much but ok. If there were some downfalls it would be the shower water temp was just warm, not much of a hot shower , and towels could use some updating. But the overall room was clean and housekeeping was good. Had fresh towels everyday except one day but had pleanty left from previous day. I would say this is a great place to stay you wont be disappointed , we stayed all week.

Second year staying here. Room was very clean and the pool area is well taken care of. Close to the beach and the walk to the boardwalk is about 10 minutes. Will be booking again for next year!

For all of the people there and all of the children, the rooms are surprisingly soundproof and it's a lovely walk to a wonderful beach. Great Uber access.

I would not agree with the reviews that say this place was excellent. It worked for a last minute 1 night trip. Wouldn't want to stay longer than that. Was definitely overpriced for what we got. Staff was wonderful.

Room was nice. Pool was crowded.

The price was right for the Week of July 4th. The first thing we noticed was that there were a lot of unsupervised kids running up and down the hallway late into our first night which was very annoying because we couldn’t get to sleep. That is more of a reflection on the parents than it is the hotel. There was also a water/sewer main break the day we arrived so water pressure and hot water were affected. Once again, this was out of the hotels control. We also missed having our room made up the one full day we were there. I feel like they could have circled back to make up the room but didn’t. We were out of it most of the day so I’m not sure why it wasn’t done. We had a few bad experiences but all in all not a bad place to stay and the property seems fairly well maintained. On the next trip I will pay more to have a restaurant on the premises. The morale of the story is you get what you pay for.

Great crew at the Shalimar. Love the family friendly atmosphere. Looking to book another trip this summer.

Boardwalk

Nice heated pool.

This property was very convenient. Feet away from the broad walk. 15min walk to the convention center. Great for the family. Arcade, ping pong table, and heated pool. Staff were very nice. Room was good, except not the cleanest. Dried up coffee on the floor that weren’t cleaned up. Hangers left from previous stay (I’m assuming). Thermostat did not work properly. Dryer did not dry clothes.

we had a nice time....the pool was great! the towels could be better. the ac was VERY cold! The staff was extremely kind, prompt and helpful.
