Walking distance to Santa Clara University. Many restaurants across the street to walk to including Starbucks and Safeway is just about a block down the road. Easy access to the freeway and the San Jose airport. Shopping mall and Santana Row is just a short drive away.

This is the second time my husband and I have stayed at the Sterling Inn. It is very close to the airport and you can't beat the price. The hotel is very clean and has plenty of free parking. The owner is so nice, and he remembered us when we came in for our second visit. This is definitely our go-to hotel when flying in and out of San Jose.

A mouse in our room. Owner questioned whether we brought it in our own suitcases. There was a small hole chewed thru the corner of the front door which we blocked with our laundry bag but the mouse was already inside. Chewing all night and it scurried across the floor in the morning. We left immediately. Customer service terrible. Do not stay here

Motel that has been newly remodeled with modern interior. Staff is exceptionally warm.

This place was great.

Manager Ed was very kind and took really good care of us. Our room was on the ground floor and we were able to park adjacent to our room. Room fixtures need repairs and linen was old and stained. Beds were ok, bathroom was ok, soap was old and useless. No outdoor ice machine, but Ed did provide us with ice. Improvements were being made to the room above us up until 12 midnight, and kept us awake. We could have done better elsewhere.

Ed is always a fantastic host and his property is always what we need it to be. Well-located with plenty of walkable services and eats. The rooms are in varying levels of repair with this particular room’s bedside lamp falling off into my hand. All others lights worked fine. Traffic noise is light, the air unit is noisy as they always are, and the convenience of a spacious in-room fridge is the noise of it cycling on and off all night. My satisfaction with all hotel stays has increased since I habitually use ear plugs to sleep and I slept very soundly. The mattress was firm to my liking. Room appointments and furniture are sparse, so it’s not a room to hang out in all day. I don’t want to pay for stuff in a room I won’t ever use, so bed, sink, and shower does it for me and all were clean, comfortable, and functional. I will return again and again.

Minh the Owner is fantastic.. Very caring about his property and comfort of his guests. Next time I travel in this area I’ll stay here.

Check-in was great, it’s our 3rd time staying there and we are always greater with a smile. The rooms are overall clean, and well kept. There isn’t an ice machine but the front office can offer you a bag of ice.

Quiet and close to dining

Clean, spacious, well maintained. Plenty of eateries across the street, grocery store a block away. Well lit, felt safe even for that nightly stroll. The owner is very pleasant
