Excellent food facilities & staff great location

This was our 5th stay in the hotel and it will be the last one. Hotel service and personnel went from Ok to terrible. Employees barely speak English and because of that they are trying to avoid any coversation. Alternatively they just speak to you in German like it is the same thing. As a result they can't and won't handle any issurs during your stay. Hotel marks as pet friendly offering dog beds, bowls and snacks. Nothing was provided even we asked several times for it throughout the and when asked at check out the only answer was wait we will bring it. Hotel rips you off on all charges as all the bills are converted to EUR and when you ask to pay in HUF they just convert the final sum.

This hotel is very far away from a 4 star hotel, the rooms, furniture, the variety and the quality of the food in the restaurant is far far away from a 4 star hotel. Only few parking spots, no underground garage.

If I could have stayed longer I would! Best staff, nice big room, and bath, with shower! Breakfast and dinner was good for everyone, lot to chose from at the buffé. Quite, and not long from the Heviz bath. Lot of bicyclerouts in the surroundings. What more can you ask for?

Great experience! Hotel was super well located and the spa was amazing. I really enjoyed the restaurant and the food was good, the menu and breakfast was limited due to COVID-19, but I did not lack anything and was pleased with the selection.

We had a good experience overall. The room was small but clean. The food was very good every day during our four day stay. The only really frustrating issue was the quality of wifi; totally unreliable.

The hotel is in a pedestrian street mere steps away for Lake Heviz. Rooms clean and comfortable. Management sent a bottle of sparkling wine for my birthday. A very nice touch.

We had terrible experience as our room was in the middle of rooms where a company of young idiots got their xmas party. So we could not sleep until 5 a.m. They were evrywere , in the hallway, smoking and screaming in front of the hotel, in the restaurant...we called reception desk at 3 am, but nothing changed. And we realized that hotel.com got no customer service phone number on web !!!

I did expected more from the food. It's called Gastro Hotel so you understand they really make efforts on providing an excellent service. Breakfast was enough and good., but the dinner time was disappointing. the fist of 3 nights we had choice of breaded chicken or not breaded chicken and fish. The rice was overcooked and they also had potatoes for sides. It could be much better. The quality of food for the dinner could really improve, not just because of buffet type it needs to be bad.

Nice hotel, very friendly staff, best location in town

The hotel is located on the main pedestrian street of Heviz, some 200 meters from the lake. We got a room upgrade upon our arrival, which seemed to lunch our week long vacation in a good way. Unfortunately the view from that room (nr 326) was not a pleasant one. The old Hotel Panorama was towering over our nice hotel, and we were just aboive their restaurant's roof, so yeah the view was awful. But we did not came for the view and the size of the room for us traveling with an 8 month old baby was more important so, we decided to stay. Aside of the view there was a bigger problem with the room. The AC unit was just above us on the roof, and the elevator shaft was right next to us, so the noise was for the whole night was terrible. Thanks to Anita at the reception we got a new room the next morning (a bit bigger one, facing the downtown area), and from than on our vacation in Heviz was great. As to the hotel's gastro prefix, for sure it did not reflect on their breakfasts or suppers (buffet style, but breakfasts were exactly the same everyday). Suppers were better, but very far away from 4star quality The crew was nice both in the restaurant as well in the hotel. In general our stay was great thanks to the lake (by the way, at the front deask you can purchase 3 hour tickets to the lake with a nice discount). Also there is a nice welness area on the first floor. AC in all rooms. Best hotel for this price in the whole Balaton region. Go for it :)

The hotel staff was very friendly. It was clean and comfortable. It is next Heviz hot springs so very convenient.
