This is not a 2 star hotel. It's a one star. It's in a great location, central but the condition of the room was very poor except that it was clean. Examples, we had a problem with the door lock to open the door to get out of the room. The doors dont fit well the door frames. The only light that worked in the bathroom was over the wash basin. There was only one electric socket in the room and it was in a bad place at the bottom of one of the beds. The window was broken so the street noise and cold air are coming in all the time at night. The walls are thin. I had to listen, with my 17 year old son to a couple next door having sex 3 times one night. If you want cheap and a place to put your head at night it's fine but it's not a family hotel. There was no one there to pay at early morning checkout and I ended up having to do a bank transfer afterwards. Hotels.com give the option to pay at the hotel but that wasn't possible.

The guesthouse is simple and comfortable, with well organized systems and very accommodating management. Location is great, with excellent restaurants nearby and easy access to the university and other places of interest.

In a historic old building, the rooms are clean and comfy, and a good size, each with its own sink. The shared bathrooms are very clean. There is a communal, very well equipped kitchen, and a lounge / dining area, all very modern and clean. Great stylish touches of art, lampshades and furnishings. You can see that a lot of love and thought has gone into this place., not just using cheap stuff. Perfect internet connection, too, the first time in Portugal for us. Fantadtic value at the price! Highly recommend for a few nights if youre in Coimbra to explore this fascinating city.

The hotel has no heat, and it was very cold in the room and hotel during our January stay, I'd say under 10C in the room, which made staying there very uncomfortable. I asked for a portable heater and was told none were avaiable so unlike the other review states, expect to not have any heat in your room. Probably find in Spring/Fall, but I would avoid this place in Winter, and Summer if it is hot, as there is no AC either.

Very spacious room

We are very pleased with this property, which has been thoroughly renovated. The host paid great attention in the decor, felt like staying in a boutique hotel. Our room is spacious. The kitchen is better equipped than our home. Highly recommend.

I liked the room was big enough and pretty private, didn’t love the bathrooms but they weren’t bad.

The property is on a very busy street, so lot of noise. My room was not in a very goog shape. However all was clean. And I like the kitchen and common room areas. Fair enough for the price.

So friendly and spoke good English
