I paid €170 for one night, not including breakfast. I was quoted £150 online and a half hour prior to the booking, it was less than £100 BUT when I came back to make payment the price had increased by £50! What a rip off. Breakfast was an additional fee. When I checked in, the staff failed to mention there would be no welcome pack in the room showing what numbers to dial for reception etc. The room was the smallest I’d ever stayed in for a four star and there was no food available (I was too tired to leave the building to search elsewhere). The front desk staff were helpful in fairness, particularly the female. Room 203 had a strange smell that got worse as the night went on. The view was of a busy street. I had to phone reception using my mobile since the phone in the room had no info. This was the first time I’d stayed in a 4* hotel that didn’t have a welcome pack in the room or access to any food on arrival. I checked in around 10:30pm and was away by 11am.

Staff were very welcoming and helpful

There is a club right next to the hotel and it had a student night on. You could hear everything until the club was over and afterwards you could hear the crowds clearly on the street. There didnt seem to be any sound proofing. Also the room was cold. I double checked if a window was open but it wasnt.

Great location, friendly staff and comfortable stay

Imperial is a nice place however needs a few improvements to be classed as 4 star. They had 2 events happening Friday and Saturday night which went on till 1am. Could identify every song in our hotel rooms as sound proofing is very poor - would avoid if have young children. Also breakfast starts at 9am - too late if you have to be somewhere. Also service at breakfast was adequate and while asked for room number, staff wanted us to pay at bar vs adding to our room. Very inconvenient. Overall I would suggest Imperial is more a 3 star hotel than stated 4 star. It needs to improve

Bedroom could be cleaner, a shower that worked would have been great, reported shower nothing done about it. Very central to the town, bar staff where excellent

Shocking, the toilet was not clean, the shower never worked & there was a dripping all night and I never got any sleep. Reception was not bothered, complained in the morning and they did not car at all. I was promised a call back and it never come

Great property in a quiet village

Lift wasn't working. The condition of the room wasn't great. Very close to the road ,noise of vehicles through out the night that disturbed my sleep.

Central location to everything

Only problem for me, beds & pillows a bit hard.

Lift was out of service for part of our stay. The area is fun with lots to do, but there is a bit of noise that goes along with that. We had a great stay overall, very clean, staff is friendly

Love the imperial. Definitely would stay there again. They even had a smoking area on the 1st floor which was brilliant. Didn't have to go downstairs in the middle of the night. Couldn't fault the staff at all.

We had a lovely stay in the Imperial hotel recently, the service was beyond expectations. We had a lovely room on the 5th floor overlooking the town and had very large comfortable bed & water, tea, coffee and fresh towels daily, cleaned daily. The staff in reception are lovely and very helpful. I had just had healed from a surgery and we were looking for a nice break to relax and it was perfect. Definitely recommend and will stay again.

It’s location made it convenient to be close to all that you could need

Bring earplugs, this hotel is right next to a nightclub. Hotel itself is ok. Has been renovated in recent times but a little bit shabby nonetheless. Staff seemed nice. Didn't avail of the breakfast so can't comment on food. Location is in central Dundalk so it is very convenient if you need to be in the town.

The room and bathroom were clean, bed comfortable. However, the shower was leaking half the water before it got to the shower head and this is totally unacceptable in a four star hotel. There was not enough water getting through for me to wash my hair. It's a very basic thing to get right in a hotel room being charged at a high enough price, don't mind paying if the standard is good, this was not good enough.

Hotel is dated and rather not so clean. From faulty bathtub plug to toilet seat cover which wouldn’t stay open to misbehaving tv. None of the issues by itself is too bad, but all together makes stay in this hotel not so pleasant. Don’t get seduced by nice pictures- it doesn’t show sticky carpets :(

Good points firsst, friendly reception, room very clean and temperature was just spot on. Breakfast was great too. Staff very friendly and central location is fantastic for getting around the town Now a few things were a bit annoying. Had a bite to eat in the bar and food wasn't as warm as it could have been. While the breakfast was great seating arrangements were a bit on the tight side, perhaps a table or 2 less or move people to seating outside of breakfast area. Finally and they do pre warn you but the night life noise is very audible so don't expect a quiet night's sleep until the early hours. Overall alovely stay was had by us.

We were advised in advance of our stay that it could be a bit noisy at night which we were aware of due to Dundalk having a lively nightlife.What we were not expecting was too have the air conditioning and plant room running 20 hours a day outside the window. When we mentioned how bad the noise was we were told we had been put in a quiet room at the side of the hotel and that we should have ask to be moved to a quiet room, which we thought we were in.
