Loved the property and location to the downtown. Easily walkable or minutes by car. Great room and comfortable bed Downside the carpet is as frayed upon entering the room. No body wash in the shower but the BIG issue was breakfast. We would have preferred to have a higher rate for the room with breakfast included. We opted to have breakfast off the property instead. This will influence our decision to stay there again or look into a property that was even closer to the downtown area

The very best thing about this Marriot are the amazing staff. Everyone was incredibly professional, helpful and friendly. "Suzie" was a star in helping with suggestions for local dining and activities, as were others, whose names I am not as sure of.

Moving our daughter into RPI. We have stayed at this property before and it is always great. This time we encountered an unexpected issue. Our daughter took our car overnight while we stayed in the hotel. She called us in the am to report the car as stolen. The car was NOT parked in the hotel lot. That said, the hotel staff could not have been kinder. The lady who was managing the breakfasts was so sweet. I was paying for a cup of tea when my daughter called to say our vehicle was no longer where she had parked it. I went back to our room to speak with the police. They told me to meet an officer in the hotel lobby. When I went back to the lobby the same lady brought me a cooked breakfast saying that as I was having a rough day she wanted me to have a good breakfast. How thoughtful!!!!!! I also asked the front desk for a late checkout while I figured out what to do as we were from out of state so absent a car we had some challenges. They were completely understanding and also indicated that should we need to stay another night they would work with us on the rate. All told the staff greatly helped make an otherwise stressful experience as tolerable as possible. The update is that our car was towed and so $204 later and a walk to and through an interesting part of town we got our car back.

Right on the river, convenient to RPI

Nice property. But can the hotel please explain why they have a small refrigerator in the room that shuts of automatically after 2 hours? What use is that if you want to keep food cold? Makes no sense and they should change it. Also, A/C unit very noisy and erratic. Not enough hooks in bathroom for used towels.

I really didn’t dislike anything

Nice location on the Hudson but the area around the hotel was older and in the middle of being revitalized. Hotel was very nice!

The room smells a bit, i think it’s the carpet. Also, no housekeeping for the entire three days I was there, despite request.

Great view of the Hudson River. One of the 2 elevators was out of order. The neighborhood is industrial.

This has a great location. Close to many restaurants and bars, right along the Hudson River.

Beautiful place, maybe not in the best area of the city. It was clean, but not to the standard of Marriot. The elevator area was smelly and the floor were sticky.

This is my go to hotel when in Troy. It is safe, has plenty of parking and close to restaurants and walking distance to the farmers market. The staff is friendly and I love the fitness center.

River

I lived everything about this Hotel. My view was exceptional. Will definitely be staying there again in the Future.

Easy stay, convenient, and decent food options at the Bistro. Rooms are comfortable.

The free breakfast was better than most. Fresh fruit is a major plus. Beds were super comfy.Older nicely refreshed property. Enjoyed the pool after a long drive. Lovely Stay!

Great room. Everything was extremely clean. The staff were great.

Location was a little sketchy, but overall property is clean and modern.

Clean, modern, and well appointed. Room size was good. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was overpriced (but it did have Starbucks coffee) so don’t bother unless you have no other options.

Very nice hotel. Great view of the river. Nice balcony/porch off the main lobby where you can sit and view the river and have drinks and/or food. A nice bistro there. Staff was very friendly. In a very convenient area so you can get to everywhere easily. Great place to stay.

Clean, spacious room with all necessary amenities, beautiful bathroom, and great river view. The hotel is in a quiet, beautiful location, great friendly staff, I loved it. This is my third time staying there and it was perfect. Thank you.

The mattress could be better.

The Marriott was stationed by very responsible persons and they were not able to shift my room to the requested location saying it was too busy, but the hotel was not. The services at the kitchen offered specific menu items but due to lack of personnele, the same person had to make the dinner, as run the register. The meal was a bit different than the menu on the board. The sink did not drain and when someone looked at it, they left the debris in the sink and did not clean up after themselves, or fix it fully. The bed had half of the mattress lower than the other half. The room faced an area of troy that could use some greenery and tlc. The view was of a garbage dumpster and a church with broken windows and a parking lot next to a deserted building. The hotel welcome menu said there was a market next door for food. It was closed and empty. If there is a seasonality to the area, it should be made known. On a positive note, the area of Troy is undergoing renovations and the waterfront, though completely closed down, was clean. If Marriott wants to give some extra effort to the location on all 4 sides of the location, it would be a plus. Two hires are advised, a security presence and a dedicated chef or bartender on weekends.

Nice location. Noisy heater. Bathroom sink was a very slow draining sink which was not fixed despite two complaints made to the front desk. View from our room was nice.

The staff from check-in to housekeeping and everyone we ran into along the way was friendly, helpful and joyous - where do you find that?
