This was the worst property and I didn’t even stay there. It’s very far from anything so we had dinner and what was supposed to be complimentary drinks (I’m ann Expedia gold member) and then we left to a place more central. I was shocked that I was charged for the drinks! After several rude messages from the hotel I’ll have to pursue the reimbursement from my credit card. I didn’t sign for the drinks so I’m pretty sure they can’t do that. Also there’s a pond that you have to pass to check in and there was a snake inside. No thanks! I am happy with my decision to not stay there but very disappointed in the rudeness. I wasn’t expecting that.

Amazing Stay. Staff were 10/10 Only overnight stay, wish we had another couple of days. Great view, food options also great with Northerlies meal options. Great continental breakfast. Look forward to coming back

Everything was lovely!

Beautiful quiet location. Everyone goes out of there way to make sure your stay is enjoyable. Heated pool was amazing and a short walk to the restaurant for an amazing meal.

We stayed in the Beach Shack for a few nights. We were welcomed by management and made to feel comfortable. The staff were respectful and very friendly. The Northerlies hotel is close by and has great meals. Freedom Shores accom includes a continental breakfast. It is served in the main area where you can plate your food, put on a tray and either eat back in your room or out on the deck with great views. The beach shack has it’s own grassed area, sun lounges, cabana, loads of quiet spots to sit, wander onto the rocks at low tide. There are several curlews and turkeys that frequent the area as well. The beach shack is beautifully and comfortably furnished, the bed is comfortable.

Fantastic place. We were greeted so lovely. Our room was fresh and clean. Pool is heated. Great little place, recommend.

We had a beautiful stay at Freedom Shores. The receptionist Dana was very friendly and attentive. We will definitely be coming back!

This place is amazing

This place is nothing short of amazing - from the service that all staff give and the absolute surroundings of the accommodation. This is always my go to when I head down to Airlie and I have passed onto my friends how great this place is.

Great venue with friendly staff. Only issue is the room we were given the shower floods and when we mentioned it they fixed the issue but this then caused the drain to stink.

I loved everything, especially the amazing view. The only thing I could fault was the bed we slept on. It was so uncomfortable and both my partner and I woke up with stiff backs. It wasn’t enough to ruin the experience but would definitely make the experience better.

Tour stay at Freedom Shores was spectacular. We loved the resort and the story behind the landscape. They had a pool available 24/7 fenced off (which is kids friendly). However, unfortunately there were some down sides to it, for example; a few of the staff at the reception was not quite friendly and had unpleasant non approachable expression, also the breakfast that was included wasn’t what we expected (not even eggs to be served also what was more disappointing there was bread served the next day from the day before which didn’t feel fresh). Also, to keep in mind that on the net it says (Freedom shores Hamilton island) but it isn’t located in Hamilton island it is located in Airlie Beach which mean you will need to fly to Hamilton island and take a ferry which cost for 2 people $120 for only ONE WAY (which we paid overall $240 for ferry). Though, another alternative is that you can fly to Airlie beach directly to stay at freedom shores. Overall, our stay at freedom shores was very different as we had the opportunity to attend “ocean rafting” to see the Great Barrier Reef.

Amazing place. Your room is a shaped like a beautiful boat. The view from the hotel and the pool is to die for, over the crystal blue Whitsunday waters. And the staff can’t do enough. Go!

Amazing place to spend holidays

We arrived while it was raining and the staff were friendly and helpful getting us to our boat bungalow which we loved. Sitting out on the boat deck in the morning was so relaxing to start the day. Highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Wonderful friendly staff both before & during our stay. Only critique would be the noise from next door & would have loved an outdoor setting in our suite so we could sit outside. Breakfast was lovely better than some five star places!

Great getaway! Could not fault the room. Was disappointing that you could not have meals delivered to accommodation. Went to phone ahead to order. Rang through 3 times and it disconnected each time after a message to say come down to restaurant to make a reservation. When ordering after walking over to restaurant I found out that the menu in the room was out of date. Then had to carry food back to accommodation which was quite an effort with heavy dishes. I am quite mobile, but accomodation is not suited to anyone with mobility issues. You need to carry your own luggage up and down steps from the carpark. The accommodation that is meant to be smoke free resort is great. Until you are enjoying your glass of wine on the deck and the people next door come out and smoke right next to you 🙁. Despite these negatives, the views in intent of the resort is absolutely lovely. Bed is comfortable and the grounds well maintained.

Beautiful property with great service. The boat cabins are clean and fairly new. The hotel is further away from Airlie Beach so you’re a little bit isolated and will need the shuttle service or bus to head into town. The hotel is great if you want a place to unwind and relax.

Wow! What a fab place to stay. Great for a couple of nights relaxation. On-site bar and restaurants both good and live music was a plus. Plenty to choose from at breakfast. Little touches like insect repellent and sun cream were appreciated.
