WiFi was nonexistent.

The hotel has the nostalgia of time in the past which was cool. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Nice and convient to getting on skyline drive.

Staff was friendly, efficient and flexible with services. Location was perfect for outdoor activities in Shenandoah valley. Places to eat are scares in this area.

Staff was friendly and helpful. The kids loved the outdoor pool. It is located a few minutes from Luray Caverns.

This basic, older motel was clean and mostly in good repair - there was a little peeling paint in the bathroom. Walls are thin, I could clearly hear the neighbors, along with both highway and railroad noise. But it’s a good value and its proximity to Shenandoah National Park is a plus.

This is an old-fashioned type motel in quiet and beautiful setting. The bed was comfortable. We were primarily hiking in the national park during the day so the most important thing was being able to sleep well. On the downside, the floors were filthy as evidenced by the bottom of our socks that turned dark gray from walking across the floor. The shower curtain bar was rusty. The shower dripped and the toilet ran most of the time. Attempts to stop both were unsuccessful. Most bothersome though was the product that was used on the bathroom floor before our arrival. It had a strong perfume smell that lingered through our 4 day stay despite having the windows and door open with the fan running to try to clear it. The product seemed to be a floor wax as the bathroom floor was extremely slippery when we arrived.

I was running very late getting to the Motel so they checked me in and left the door open with the key and paperwork to sign on the table. When I walked in I could not believe how big and clean this room was. On top of that everyone on the staff was kind and courteous. And the beds were the most comfortable Motel beds I ever slept in. I will be staying there again and I am thinking of doing a long weekend just so I can stay there and explore the area more.

What a little jewel, reminded me of something you would see on Route 66 in the 50s and 60s. Older but clean as a whistle. The staff was great!

The Hillside was a nice change of pace from the norm. With quiet country surroundings and charming accommodations, we really enjoyed our visit. Talking with other guests and the family that owned the property made us feel comfortable and relaxed. We did have an issue connecting to the Wi-Fi, but wasn't really a problem as it was nice to disconnect from the world for an evening. We'd definitely return if we were back in the area.

The people were very friendly, as were the other guests, many of whom stay there annually. The pool was clean and well appointed with deck furniture.

Very nice motel with pretty flowers on property. Convenient to Thornton Gap exit at Shenandoah. Pool was very relaxing the one evening we used it. Just wish that it was open past 8 PM so that we could have used it more. The town of Luray was nearby. It was a much quieter town than I expected. Not very touristy.

This motel is a little dated but it was very clean and had all the needed amenities. Staff were very pleasant and accommodating. The pool was clean and refreshing with plenty of seating and shade on the patio which was surrounded by beautiful flowers. A short ride to town, very peaceful with a lovely view of the mountains.

We had stayed here about 20 years ago and were delighted to be able to stay here again. Quaint, maintained well, clean. We had a great stay.

Rustic and dated, but very clean. And staff was friendly. Conveniently located with easy access to the caverns.

It was beautiful. Nice to wake up and see the mountains. Only thing we didnt like was the service and wifi didnt work. Everything else was great.

Great stay with our three boys. Had a room with 3 beds which worked perfectly for us. Room was so clean and everyone was so friendly.
