This is a hidden gem in Punta Mita- the ten room property is beautiful and the food and staff is 5 star.
Large rooms and balcony, double closet, large shower, stunning view if you are in the ocean side
Food- beautiful complimentary breakfast each day with big variety overlooking the ocean
Pools and lounges on two decks, always felt you had the place to yourself
Staff was so attentive- all spoke English and would help you with whatever you need.
Negative- property is built into a cliff- over ocean covered in rocks. You can get to a private beach nearby though and they will supply you with what you need.
Transportation- the property is on a hill with no paved road - all dirt and rocks. So it will cost you at least $25 for a taxi to downtown Punta Mita where the bars and restaurants are. But transportation comes in minutes in very nice cars

We only stayed one night but loved this quaint boutique hotel. The included breakfast was wonderful. The homemade granola was delicious. The oceanfront room was comfortable and the view was beautiful. Rooftop pool was heated. Only downside is if you don’t have a car and want to get anywhere. The taxi took 40 minutes to pick us up. And the ocean right in front of the property was a little rough so swimming in it really wasn’t possible.

It is not walking distance to many things, don't expect to walk to shopping or a resturant.

Wonderful small hotel. Love the rooftop pool and bar area! The beach is a few minutes south and worth the extra walk to El Barracuda for drinks on the beach.

This is a great place to stay as a couple. The room and view were perfect. All of the meals were fantastic. We had the pool to ourselves. I will stay here again. Quiet and relaxing!

The Hotel Basalto is a lovely boutique hotel situated in an isolated, but very beautiful, area north of PV.
Our room was large, nicely appointed and the bedding was very, very comfortable. The hotel pools and lounge areas were nicely decorated and kept clean - loungers were comfortable. Restaurant food was good and beautifully presented (kudos to the Chef!) Everyone on staff was pleasant, friendly and efficient. We would recommend the Hotel Basto to our friends and family. Thank-you to everyone at the Hotel Basalto for making our stay so very enjoyable!

Nos gustó mucho el hotel en general. La amabilidad de los trabajadores. Se nota que las instalaciones son recientemente nuevas y bonitas. Sobretodo limpio. Y la comida muy rica. Lo que no nos gustó es que para ir a la playa teníamos que caminar dos terrenos y la bajada estaba sucia y muy difícil.

This place is fantastic! Rooms are very large and ocean view is amazing with great cool air coming off the water. Also beautiful sandy beaches a very short walk from property. Rooms were super clean and well appointed!

Fabulous stay, staff more than friendly súper helpful, amazing breakfast and food in general was outstanding. Location is hidden so súper quite place perfect for relaxing long sleep nights. Roof top pool very nice. Overall hotel is clean, nice, brand new… al works perfect and all smells good.

My girlfriend and I were absolutely blown away by Hotel Basalto. The room was stunning, both pools were fantastic, the service was 10/10 and the food/drink were great as well. It felt like we had the whole hotel to ourselves. If you are looking to just relax and enjoy incredible hospitality, hotel basalto is a no brainer.

The rooftop pool and bar are the best. Quiet, well designed and gorgeous views of the ocean and jungle. Large spacious rooms and compared to other options in the area, it’s very affordable.

Basalto Hotel is a hieden jewel in Punta Mita. The hotel is impecable, the service is top and the food is delicious. Is one of those places that is not pretentious but feels very exclusive. I will go back here for sure.
